The absolute must eat at Mexican restaurant in Long Beach California. They have the perfect sized proportions, my favorite is the Enchilada with one taco and a side of the best beans and rice. Wait times are a breeze the staff is not only super efficient, super friendly, but also super knowledgeable of the menu.

As a first time customer, I was convinced by the prior reviews stating this place would be a great choice. Boy was I wrong! My food was ready within 20 mins of ordering although, it was cold to the touch and not freshly made. My rice and beans lacked flavor and furthermore the restaurant’s staff made me feel unwelcome. Due to being a bit hungry I relented and finished my meal. Hopefully this place gets it right in the future. This is California the home of quality food. This establishment lacks quality and standards.

Would have rather gone to taco bell...Worst Mexican food I have had. Ordered the shrimp Baja burrito and a side of guacamole. The food came out 1 min after ordering and was still luke warm (how does one accomplish that?) which is a huge red flag (that means nothing was freshly cooked or at least heated properly) Shrimp smelled like they had been left out after cooking for hours. Guacamole was flavorless (no lime, no salt and no pepper) Highly recommend to try your local taco truck or side street taco stand. Heck go to taco bell because you will eat much better food there. It's unfortunate it's a small family owned business but you have to do better than doing below the bare minimum, no excuses, especially with the prices you are charging, regardless of current climate, at least make decent food πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

First time here, it was good. The 911 salsa actually had a touch of heat, nothing bad, but I was surprised since I'm used to places claiming milk is spicy. The Baja Burrito with Carne Asada was a good choice too. Give them a try.

Old school Mexican restaurant that has a classic menu with a fantastic happy hour taco select that spans Baja style fish tacos to crunchy vegan "beef" or potato tacos. The salsa and fried tortilla chip bar are also a great addition to a satisfying meal.

Great fish tacos along with fast and friendly service! There is seating both inside and outside. There is also a nice salsa bar with a selection of salsa to choose from.

Very simple Mexican establishment. We had a bad experience a few years back with the attitude of one the folks that worked there and decided to not go back. Long story short we did go back a couple of years later. Interacted with at least 2 folks that work there and the experience was great. We've tried their fish dish, fish tacos, and a few other dishes throughout time and will say their door is delicious. The prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place.

Baja Sonora is my favorite Mexican restaurant! Food is always fresh and delicious and you can't beat the chips and salsa bar. Each salsa is great on its own, or you can mix them to find your perfect combination. Fresh chips that are perfectly fried and crispy. I personally love orange bang for a drink, it compliments the food so well. Giant proportions and you always leave full. Can customize your burrito by getting it "wet" that adds cheese and sauce. The owners are delightful and truly care about their customers and this business. Reasonably priced, can dine in or get it to go. Highly recommend!

Really good Mexican food I love their salsa bar and self-serve chips options they have good Fountain drinks self-serve and good seating areas. Although the patio seating area is small outside it's nice to be able to sit out when the sun is going down to eat. I do recommend this place.

Food , Service and Employees are all awesome. Quick and easy to order. Salsa bar is stocked. Plenty of tables. Happy Hour & Taco Tuesday are always a good option. Nothing fancy just good food.

I never get photos because I inhale my food. No one comes close to the Potato tacos at this place. Crispy and loaded with lettuce shreds. The salsa bar is amazing. What I like best about this place is the consistency. When you crave a certain food, you want that taste, and Baja Sonora is the same deliciousness every time!

The food was decent. I really liked the open chip bar. I got the two soft taco combo (mahi mahi and shrimp). I believe my sister got the carne asada bowl and my other family member got the hard chicken taco. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place but it's a decent relatively cheap place to eat at.

Very clean and fast service, long line during lunch hour Self serve on chips, salsa bar variations on fountain drinks orange bang, pop, and mexican waters like horchata readily available. Staff are friendly and helpful in answering your questions. The menu is on the wall to your right as soon as you enter, cashier is on your right as well a few steps away from the menu. Please make sure you remember your order once you are there or you will hold up the line going back to see the menu. Don't forget to ask for your straw. P.S. restrooms are wide enough for a wheelchair very clean.

First time here and I got a bean and cheese wet burrito. It was cold. That didn't bug me so much until I cut it open and noticed the shredded cheese was not melted. Idk if that's the way they make it but I didn't enjoy eating cold shredded cheese with beans. The employees were great and salsa bar awesome. The burrito just wasn't worth it for the price.

I met a buddy here for lunch. Great authentic Mexican food. Chips are whole tortillas you break up yourself to the size you want. The Salsa bar is a good size. Terrific family owned business. Apparently the cooks are as close as family to the owners as they have been there 15 to 20 years with them.

We booked Baja Sonora for our wedding in April and we could NOT be more satisfied with the service and the delicious food we received. We found Baja Sonora through our wedding coordinator who frequents the restaurant and also had them cater her wedding. Right from the start, we knew that we wanted Mexican food at our wedding. After perusing the menu and speaking with Marisela, we were set on Baja Sonora. Marisela was a dream to work with - she was friendly, informative, and responsive. She helped us create the perfect menu and she was so accommodating with the last minute changes and add ons we made. Our guests have not stopped raving about the delicious food!!! Thank you Marisela and all the Baja Sonora staff for all your hard work and the absolutely delicious food!

The Carne Asada was exceptional; the chile relleno was not my personal preference but it was well done for its style (very soft and egg-y; I prefer them a little crispier) the tortilla chips are prepared whole and you break them yourselves. The medium red salsa and the salsa verde were tasty. Would definitely come back. Service friendly and fast.

Was looking for a place with excellent hard taco. So we tried this place for the 1st time and we ordered every taco to try. Top three: Asada, shredded beef & carnitas. Bottom two: shrimp & fish. The bottom two were still tasty yummy but needed salsa of your choice to really be up there. Hubby liked the potato taco also. Endless chips & salsa bar was great. Also they have Orange Bang so that went well with the Mexican food. Next we want to try out the burritos. Prices were good considering we ordered a lot of food to give the place a fair shake.
