The worst possible service I have ever come across! Went to fix my wedding ring there and the owners didn't even bother taking to me in person but kept sending a person from the staff to talk to me and answer my questions on behalf of them. That happened at least 5 times during my visit in the shop which I though it was very poor. I got quoted £25 for the job that needs done and was not allowed to pay immidiately but on collection which I thought that it was fine. When I got a call that my ring was ready and went to collect it, the price suddenly changed to £45 which ended up into an argument. Mind you, no price was written on the customers note, so always be aware with that! After a heated argument, the member of staff agreed to charge me the quoted price and leave it be. When I saw the ring afterwords I was nearly in tears. The colour of it has got changed as it has been burnt all over, it was not soldered all over but just on few places and over all extremely bent. I could have done better job myself if I had a soldering iron at home. Please, please, save your money and time and go somewhere else where it's worth giving your jewellery to be fixed! I will never go back to that place and will never recommend it, which is a shame, considering how much I like supporting local businesses.

The front of house customer service at Antique & Modern is incredibly poor. The receptionist specifically is very rude and bullish with absolutely zero consideration for the customer. A situation that could have easily been resolved with a degree of calm understanding and polite professionalism was turned into a very sour, confrontational experience. Although I don’t fault the physical work they DID carry out, the front of house staff (including the owner) were incredibly belligerent, condescending and unprofessional throughout. It’s such a shame to have to leave a 1 star review on a local business but this was a very unpleasant experience.

Fantastic little shop, reception and service second to none extremely polite efficient and professional. I Would highly recommend this place to take your clock/s in for repair. I recently took my carriage clock in for repair and they fixed it in record time.

The pendulum of my antique Vienna Wall Clock had become disconnected and I needed an urgent repair. I rang the shop and they asked me to bring it in for an assessment. I took the clock in at 1.30pm and received a call at 3.30pm to say that the clock had been repaired and if I collected it that afternoon, there would be no charge. Quite amazing customer service!! I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received, and the advice Mark gave in transporting the clock back home. It is now back on the wall, and ticking contentedly. Just brilliant!! Thank you!!

An excellent place to get your clock or barometer repaired. They made my old and somewhat neglected aneroid barometer work properly and cleaned it up beautifully. Highly recommended

When I visited this shop recently I found the pristine interior lit by abundant natural light; this is certainly not a fusty place. The walls are lined with fascinating timepieces from a variety of eras. I was given a warm welcome and the skilled watch repairer did a splendid job, with which I could not have been more happy. The horologist is Omega-accredited; the certificate stands behind the counter. This means that you can hand over your timepiece with confidence. Highly recommended.

I have been dealing with Antique and Modern for many years. Vanessa is absolutely brilliant on reception. They do all my repairs on my jewellery and modernised my mother's ring bequeathed to me. It looks absolutely fabulous. I could not recommend this company more highly. The previous bad review highlighted me into writing this review as they are a lovely bunch including the guy director who repairs all my jewellery. My family had a business in Hatton Garden and this company is top notch so I know what are good jewellery repairs. Its lovely to have a company so local to my home rather than having to wait weeks for repairs in central London.

This shop is amazing. I took my late mum's wall clock to them as the hour hand was all messed up and they done it while I waited. Best £5 I have ever spent. Worth more than 5 stars really.Thank you so much

Recently purchased a Tudor Ranger luxury timepiece from an authorised dealer and scratched the bracelet quite badly. Antique and Modern were very helpful and fully repolished the scratches out and the watch looks new again. Excellent service completed on the same day and at a fair price. Highly recommend this jeweller.

After phoning the shop to make sure they could replace my Omega f300 Seamaster's battery whilst I waited, I turned up at their pleasant shop and 15 minutes later I returned to collect it. Great service and reasonable price too. Nigel.

Really amazing service! Josh fixed my watch! Others had made all kinds of excuses . What a fantastic local business with lots of beautiful clocks, including the lovely lady at reception. They are so honest and fixed my watch without fuss very quickly and carefully. A definite must for any watch, clock issues or servicing.
