Friendly staff and handled last minute reservation with no problem. Odd and difficult to identify your spaces. Seems they converted a day use to a camping. Check out 10am. Very quiet at night except a neighbor ran his generator all night. They do drive-by firewood for sale. Parking areas need major asphalt work. Very reasonable for a quick stay. Lots of people fishing and big group camping. Will stop again. No alcohol allowed?

Beautiful lake and surrounding land. Great place to break the stay at home routine and take your family just for a drive or leisurely walk to get out of the house. Something about just watching the water is a mind soothing therapy for the whole family. There are very few people there during the week for those who want social distancing. Notice the empty parking lot.

Beach was closed I recently visited Castaic Lake for a camping trip and was thoroughly impressed with the facilities and scenery. The campsites were well-maintained and had all the necessary amenities. The lake was absolutely beautiful and offered various recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking. The staff at the park were friendly and helpful, making the overall experience even better. I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The only downside was the occasional noise from nearby highways, but it was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall beauty of the place.

Scorching trails 👣 ❤️‍🔥 Usually I don't mind but it's open, no trees to provide shade. Just come prepared. Was only able to walk 2 miles upward and called it a day.. afterwards, made my way to, "Swim Beach" ⛱️ *Very Attentive Lifeguards! The water 💧 felt AMAZING 👏 😍 Come without expectations. Bring a towel, water, and an extra pair of clothes! *Dogs are allowed as long as they're on a leash and Bike trails are available! *Maintain it clean, God bless 🙌 ❤️‍🔥🏜🔥💧

Don't come here unless your looking to bring toddlers and stand in the water next to them. Over the top strict rules prevent you from even letting g your kids ride on your shoulders. No tossing, no swimming past a certain depth of 4 feet for kids five feet. Adjoining dog water area requires leash and you, the human cannot step in the water. Petty over the top rules that will definetly keep you safe and eliminate any kind of relaxed swim time with yours kids

Great park and trails for hiking and family walks. Trails of different strength and abilities. The scenery is beautiful. Also in the park and around the lake there is a great path for scooters and toddler bikes. Be aware of some slopes if you are with kids who are learning to brake. Barbecue and fires allowed in the park. Not crowded. A beautiful place.

This is a clean beach with picnic tables and lifeguards. It's $12 to park but it's worth the cost. Mid-week was a good time to go. The temp was 94, perfect, not too hot.

Ok for distance from Carson, CA is good 1.5 hour avg. drive. The campsite was ok. Is not manned really. We see the person switching the names on sites but most of the time the entry shack is empty. Trash is picked up in the morning daily (that's a plus). Also they have firewood delivery service, they come around sundown and offer it to everyone. We had C8 and C9 no shade! The bathrooms are usable but not maintained well. They opted for porta potty outside for overflow. No swimming on the camp side (sucks!) With very little shade on the side of lake so you roast everywhere. Water is a far walk in 100 degrees oppressive heat. And you will need buckets 2 or 3 if you want to try and cool your group and wash. Bring a wagon and buckets. Bring your own shade and walls as this is elevated and the sun comes from the side not the top lol. Ground is HARD bring nail stakes those cheap ones won't cut it and even the nails bent in this ground with the rocks. Stores are really close for the forgot items. Walmart about 15min away. Gas station right out side the park for ice and things. All in all I like the proximity to my location but the heat these days is worse and desert camping sucks. The park is not the best but doable. Oh and you have to pay to swim (different park) as well as pay for your camp site.

If you're coming for the lake by all means, the staff I did speak with were very nice and helpful. I had an amazing time boating although we didn't catch anything, the lake is beautiful and massive in comparison to Lake Piru but if you're coming to camp DON'T. I'm reading reviews today from 2 months ago that showers weren't working and those same showers weren't working this past week! Not only that but the bathrooms that did work were absolutely disgusting! They need to take a pointer from other campsites, especially in San Diego. Employ workers that know what they are doing, some have a family history and background in maintenance and housekeeping and will work for the same check only you'll see the difference and the campgrounds may stay reserved and bring in revenue like most do everywhere else. I was shocked to see how easy it was to book a site here but now I see why. The worst part for me is that my campsite is infested with roaches! I think this could be because of the poorly placed trash receptacle on my site and unfortunately each site has one so it will attract bugs instead of deterring then away from the sites. If you're coming JUST for the lake ok but if you're looking to camp in the area I'd choose Olive Grove Camp Ground at Lake Piru.

Awesome place to take your kids. The lifeguards limit what u can do in the lake but I guess it's for everyone's safety. I think the entrance is like $12 dollars. Great place to walk, multiple jungle gyms for kids and movie nights on certain nights

Beautiful lake. Rented small boats at an affordable rate and took a picnic in the lake. Sadly, the water level has drastically dropped this year.

Great place for a quick weekend getaway! Booking a spot online was super easy. It's fairly clean. Has restrooms, showers, and a sink, so it's great for kids and easy glamping! There is also a good-sized ring for a fire pit - bring plenty of wood! There is 24hr fishing with a beautiful view. Def recommend and can't wait to go again!

Nothing beats having your morning coffee at the lower lagoon pier all by yourself. Watching the sun rising 🌞 and watching the wildlife wake up. One of the best overall lakes in Southern California. You can catch bass, catfish, stripper bass and bluegill fish. And if you don't happen to catch any fish. You still had one of your best cup of coffee ever with the best view

Perfect Father's Day venue! Beautiful clear blue skies, safe, and very clean water. Arrive early for parking, as it does fill up on weekends after 10am, which is when it opens for swimming. Fair warning: be sure to watch the news for any wind in the forecast, because they will close the boat launching side if the waves are too turbulent! We had to spend part of the day at the lagoon region of the lake, which is the swimming side. It wasn't very cold, get it in it just once & it will feel warm after that! We preferred the kayaking/paddleboard side of the lake, as it was less crowded. The line to get in can be slow, as the park staff do inspect each paddleboard, with boating/kayaking/paddleboarding guests required to bring life jackets. I can definitely see our family coming back to paddleboard again, as it was very affordable. Maybe next time we will catch a movie on the water! 10/10. If you get lucky, there is a very sweet lady with her husband who are there to rent boards and life jackets as needed.

What a great little place for dry camping! Super peaceful and the maintenance crew were friendly and kept the trash picked up. Lots of people fishing too.

Great place to camp or to spend a day at the lake. Only downside was that there was hardly any shade, good thing we brought our own canopies. Bathrooms and showers available

We were out here early this morning to try and see if we could catch anything. The lake was quiet and as always beautiful. So far we haven't had any luck but the scenery is so beautiful I don't really mind that much. It's a peaceful place to just sit and admire God's Beauty.

My partner and I had an excellent time exploring here. The lake is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed a nice and easy, 1 mile hike along the lake. We then had a picnic and continued exploring the beautiful mountains that surrounded us. We absolutely LOVE it here and will be spending many weekends here. So gorgeous. Photos don't do it justice! We also got a kick outta the payphone, because we had no idea those things were still around. 💝

Kids spent time playing on the great structure, admiring the birds by the lake and running in the lawns.

Just a quick getaway from the city, and this is just the perfect spot. Clean campground. The bathroom is semi clean, which is alright (not too bad) flush toilets. I would definitely camp there again.

An enormous and peaceful lake if you wanna get away from the city and want space and clear up your mind. The drive is only an hour away from the valley. You can chill here and be really relaxing and enjoying the views and nature.

The area was cool, lots of parking, people were nice and it was super cool seeing all the ducks!! We BBQ and had a great time. Excited to go back when in the area. It was clean too! Meaning we didn't see tons of trash flying around. Our family had fun!

First time to Castaic Lake. The area and the restrooms were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I went fishing at a few different locations. Caught 1 small mouth bass and lost another on the upper lake over by the dam boat landing. It was a good experience. Will return for more fishing.

Nice size lake I've never gone during the week, and it's so much nicer. The weekends can get a bit nuts. You can bring the family to swim and bbq. I believe I paid 12 dollars for 1 vehicle.
