Such a cool bar/restaurant. If you want a break from the overdone bar concepts (think speakeasy, tiki, etc.) but want familiar cocktail taste profiles but elevated come here for the cocktails. You’re going to need food for your system when you try all those cocktails too. Lucky for you they have delicious comfort food that’s not heavy. Sounds like an oximoron but you’ll see comfort food and not heavy are not mutually exclusive once you try the dishes — especially the pork belly lettuce wraps. You’re welcome! 😉

This is a nice neighborhood bar, but has zero business being anywhere near the World’s Best 1000 Bars. None. Drinks with plenty of spirits but diluted by too much crushed ice. Service fine when you are at the bar, but downright ignoring you if you sit at the tables. The Nachos were good. Unless you live in the area, do not waste your time.

What a gem of a place. All food is gluten free. The cocktails are inventive and delicious. Many of them have an Asian twist that really, really works. Place is spacious and well designed. Few doors down from Park's Finest. Staff is friendly and personable. Definitely a neighborhood spot.

Really enjoyed our time there. All the drinks were so so good and creative! Food was ok. The bartender was very nice a told us a lot about how the drinks were made. LOVE. BUT me and my friend were playing this mobile game while drinking, and a bartender came to nicely ask us to put that away. The game was like Bricks Ball Crusher in which you drop the balls down for fun 😂 a simple silly game. Don’t understand why we were not allowed to play the game in the bar. Not offended, just curious 😂

I threw my birthday party here, it was a blast! Thank you so much to the staff for being incredibly accommodating to our group of about 25 ppl. They responded to my email super fast and reserved a nice area with comfy booths and little tables. The drinks were delicious, food tasty (Mac and cheese and the wings were faves). Extra thanks to Mike and Ricardo for checking on us all night. The place is clean, vibes were high, and everyone had an amazing time. Thanks again!!!

They switched my credit card with someone else’s and when I came back the next day to help them fix THEIR mistake, the guy working (the short one wearing an ugly pink shirt with those embarrassing tattoos) accused me of “running off with someone else’s card” and was shockingly flippant and rude. I then sat at the bar waiting for 45 minutes for my credit card to be returned to me. 3 people asked for my name and it became clear they lost my credit card. What an awful experience. I’d avoid this place, there’s plenty of great ones in the area that know how to treat customers nicely and handle closing tabs properly.

Thunderbolt is an amazing spot for drinks and food in Los Angeles. The cocktails we ordered were absolutely phenomenal, with a creative mix of flavors that perfectly complemented each other. The fries were crispy and delicious, and the wings were the perfect amount of spicy and tender. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with great music and a welcoming staff that made our experience even better. What really stood out was the attention to detail and care put into each dish and drink. You could tell that the chefs and bartenders were passionate about what they were creating. Overall, Thunderbolt exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out in Los Angeles. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

We always love a 100% gf place. The food was tasty. The biscuit was great- get it with the jam and then get the chicken separate. The fries were plenty for 2 people. The service was good. We parked up the block. The area had lots of bars on windows but the place itself was nice.

Not gonna lie, the exterior looks a little janky but upon entering you know you’re in for a treat! Their mezcal and tequila drinks are unparalleled but would steer away from their Bloody cocktail. Noteworthy drinks include: Frutera and espresso martini.

Very good and creative cocktails. Even the canned drinks were delicious. Good service and atmosphere. Even the fries are good. For sure coming back!

I had the La Frutera and the chicken wings. Everything was good and came out fast. The bartender was very kind. Parking was easy, which is a huge plus. Love this place and would go back!

We just left this fantastic bar. The cocktails were truly top tier and delicious. However the bartender Nikki made the experience unforgettable. Extremely knowledgeable, attentive and passionate about her craft and that passion definitely showed while we were there. This place is welcoming, fun, and a spot for cocktail aficionados and for cocktail beginners. One of LA’s greatest!

Thunderbolt is a great place to grab a good drink and some delicious southern style food! If you're in the neighborhood, definitely check it out! If you're not in the neighborhood, it's worth a drive.

You don’t end up on the 50 Best Bars in North America for nothing. Creative drinks incorporating fun twists on classics with ingredients like pandan and jackfruit, a fun back bar, and good food. What more are you looming for in a bar?

Drinks are the stars here, but still recommend the Mac & Cheese and biscuit. A little disappointed to see their menu drinks come prepared and are basically poured into a glass. Worth a visit. Koji Killer was my favorite drink of the night.

Decent bar. Larger selection of tequilas and mezcals compared to other liquors. On the plus side they have unique cocktails and low prices. Inside and outside seating

Could be one of my new favorites.Interesting wines by the bottle. No real happy hour but no corkage for their bottles is a plus. Food was perfect for snacking. Loved the drumettes.Almost all is gluten free which is a bonus for my husband.Don't hesitate to ask for information on their wines. They are super friendly and knowledgeable.I will be back for sure.

When I tried one of the drinks my first thought was: Ok, this is really unique and special. Then I found out it has an award for being one of the best cocktail bar in the USA.

Love this bar! You can’t go wrong with one of their frozen drinks (and each month some part of a drink’s proceeds goes to charity). The fried green tomato sandwich is awesome and has just the right amount of mayo.

Such a great bar! I really appreciate that the music is not too loud and I get to hear my friend talking.

Nice atmosphere, music is a bit weird tonight. The espresso martini is nice, it’s not crowded but there are enough people to have fun. Recommend for a night out but it’s not anything spectacular :)

The atmosphere and drinks are amazing. The bartenders are friendly and always willing to answer questions. They have two of my favorite cocktails. The food is also amazing and it's a great place to visit on a Thursday night.

The food tasted surprisingly well to be all gluten free, however, I got food poisoning. I've been trying to call all week to at least get a refund and no one answers the phone. Our server Nikki was amazing and very nice. I wish I could give a better review.

Hip, fun, and great cocktails. Most of the time, specialty bars are overrated but not this one. I highly recommend happy hour, late night drinks. Hell, anytime you want a cool drinking vibe🥰

Great food, I had the salad with fried chicken and fries. It was delicious, there service was excellent. They would check on our party to see if we wanted more drinks or water. I will be back again for to try the chicken biscuit. The ambiance was nice, the best part was the music. I enjoyed great place to have lunch before I headed to a concert. Realtor Sofia

This bar is a really cool bar with amazing cocktails. It's also tucked in a corner which makes fewer people go to it which keeps it less crowded

I love next to this place. It's next to my house, and the atmosphere so very chill. Calm deep green walls on the inside with chilled out hip-hop and hip-hop adjacent music plays while you watch cars on the highway beneath you flow by mutely. It's not the most affordable place but it's always a great treat.
