Just standing outside looking in with my dog with no intention to go in. Which I relayed, and then was told by a child who could be my granddaughter I must show ID. I don't know who is training these folks in responsible alcohol service. She advised I was standing on the property. I as a long time bartender am all about following the rules but this was blatant I don't want you in here so I'm going to make you uncomfortable. I'm 47. Horrible.

Top notch bar with a great beer list and a killer happy hour. Kind folks and good loud music.

Super cool place! I played like 20 games of ms pacman. The staff is awesome and the food was really good!! Vegan and meat options. Good beers and full bar!

2.5 stars. I’ve been here several times. Love the food options (though I wish their menu were a little larger) and the overall look and feel of the bar is trendy and cool, it’s kept pretty clean too. I’ve had several fun outings here the past few years (their Halloween parties are awesome!) The drinks have always been well-made. Unfortunately, I agree with some of the reviews I’m seeing about rude staff. The last 2 times I’ve been here, the bartenders have seemed to have a poor attitude or seem unhappy working there and serving customers. I’m a former service-industry employee so I empathize with things like being tired and on your feet all day, dealing with customers who are rude/rowdy and don’t tip, etc, but to me it felt like even stepping up to the bar and saying hello/asking questions about the menu seemed to be a bother for the bartender serving me. She gave short, rude answers to my questions and seemed only concerned about what tab I was under. They were also out of a food item I wanted to order. This time, I didn’t even bother to give them my money, I just walked out disappointed without ordering anything. It’s a shame, this place is so cool and I love the atmosphere but the experience was soured for me by rude staff, so I went to 505 food hall instead.

The music can be seen from very close. Not as many shows as I would like. The bartenders are very talented, and wide beer selection. On of the best bars on Route 66. Fights are rare, mood is chill, patio is big. Can't smoke on the patio which is a bummer. Best place to play pinball and Street fighter in a bar. The food is up to par as well. You can't got wrong day drinking here.

Great place. Good energy. Delicious cauliflower tacos. Really nice bartenders. People seem genuinely happy to work there, which is always what I'm looking out for. Stunning drinks. Thanks, Sister Bar!

One of my top favorite places in Albuquerque. First off, their food is fantastic. Their frito pie with brisket and red chile is the best in town. Their tacos are amazing, especially the brisket. Their kimchi tater tots are another city best. Brunch burritos and pancakes are excellent, and a great morning vibe for kids. The cocktails and beer selection are top notch. Vintage arcade cabinets and pinball as far as the eye can see. Also a killer concert venue. This place has the vibe, the space, and the goods. An instant ABQ classic!

What a place! Pinball anyone? They have all the games and good old pinball and other machines. They have live music some evenings, check their website for the schedule. I had a drink and enjoyed a game of pinball! Great prices, great fun and a extremely kind bartender.

This place has great beers on tap and surprisingly great food! I ordered the green chili and it was amongst the best I had in New Mexico. Loaded with meat, green Chiles, beans and potatoes! The portion size was substantial. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super attentive and happy to discuss other places we should visit in town.

Sunday Brunch Spanglish Dish was delish...w/ perfectly charred Jalapenos to add more spice if you need more heat.... The Mixlogist at the Sister Bar are well crafted individuals ... The service is superb...

This place has a weird, dark atmosphere. The employees aren't especially friendly and give off the vibe that they don't really like the job. That being said, the food was tasty and fast.

Stopped with some friends for a few drinks late at night. I liked the atmosphere, just kinda an older rough bar. The service was ok, but no wow factor either, kinda what one would expect given the atmosphere. We had a great time there and the drinks were good. Didn't have any food, just drinks.

Always fun to pop into this place for a drink and pinball. Great food and super cool atmosphere. Constantly updating their pinball machines.

World class pinball at this hip and happening bar. Great selection of machines that were all in excellent condition. Friendly staff and affordable prices for beer and cocktails. This was easily one of the highlights of my trip to Albuquerque. Would love to catch a show here sometime. Highest recommendation!!!

Sister is the spot you bring your out of town friends that you want to impress to 💗 the night me and my friend went one of the pin ball machines was free all night so it made me feel better about how bad i am 🫠 **the second photo is the way i feel after being in their photo booth and positing it to my story after 🎀🤍

Seems like a cool bar, sure. I’m not sure what’s up with a certain bouncer. So I ask for a cup of water from the bartender, in a plastic cup, so I can take it out on the street to sober up on my way home (I had a DD). Neat, all good, I’m on my way out the door. As I’m leaving, the bouncer told me I can’t take drinks out into the street. I explained that it’s water, and he said “cool, no drinks out in the street.” After reiterating that it was water, which it very clearly was, he takes it out of my hands and throws it into the trash. Incredible levels of disrespect. Avoid this place.

Really dig this place, last place I went before lockdown for a show and it was pretty cool. Kind of a mixed crowd. Busy bartenders but the sound was good. Looking forward to more shows coming up! Cheers!

Place was really nice! Good service, food and drinks! They have an arcade inside the place and also offer sitting outside! It’s right at Central so it’s really easy to find parking.

BEST NIGHT EVER!! The truffle parmesan tots were fantastic. The beer was perfectly poured. The live music is THE PLACE to hear the best versions of the bands you wish to listen to. I will come here over and over. Thank you Tasha and Angel, you are amazing!! LOVE SISTER.

Wonderful. Staff knew their pinball. Great beer selection.

Chat Pile concert. Good acoustics for a small venue and an engaging crowd space and area to relax and eat and drink while seeing a show. Will return.

We popped in for a quick drink and weren’t disappointed. My spouse got a nice local beer on draft and I had the old fashioned. Both were great! Staff were friendly and attentive. It definitely has a college vibe but without feeling immature or obnoxious. We loved all the pinball machines but my fave was the Wyrd machine. We also took quick pics in the Photo Booth.

Decent bar, not a great venue for bands. We went for The Reverend Horton Heat and it was standing room only or sit outside in the cold. Definitely not a big enough place for a band like that. Took a while to get a drinks because it isn't a good venue for a concert!

One of my favorite places downtown, hands down. The vibe and atmosphere is so fun and chill. The food is absolutely incredible every single time. The drinks are also very good. Everyone is always friendly. This is definitely one of the best places to go. They are have a stage area and have shows super consistently. I need to go and take photos. I always get too caught up in the fun and delicious food and forget to take pictures.

Always a good time at Sister. Not sure when they changed their menu, but they did not disappoint. Had the Cuban sandwich with tots. Oh, and then we played pinball!

Excellent selection of creative craft cocktails. The tacos are great when they have them - especially the buffalo cauliflower ones. The rest of the menu is okay. Your usual pub food. Music nights are fun, but the dance floor is often empty for the first couple hours.

My wife and I have been regulars at Sister Bar for years, and we've always loved the amazing food and drinks. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Great live music. We were disappointed to learn that the food menu has been removed, but the drinks are still excellent as ever. The bartenders are knowledgeable and creative, and they have a fantastic selection of beers and cocktails. Sister Bar has always been our go-to spot for a night out, and we'll continue to visit for the drinks and atmosphere, but we'll definitely miss the delicious food. Nonetheless, we still highly recommend this bar for a great night out in Albuquerque.

I don't recommend this place anymore. I used to love this place back when they had the old menu and better service. I took a star 🌟 off for the wait time, I went in to get tots to go, they took 18 min to give them to me, and they only brought them out when I finally asked. I took a star 🌟 off for price, $9 for Chimichurri Tots is ridiculous for what they give you. I took a star 🌟 off for never answering the phone, I called to place the order for pick up and they never answered - the bartender said she didn't even know they had a phone. And I took a star 🌟 off because the new menu is just not good anymore, the options are limited, the price is to high and the flavor nothing special. Next time I can just make them home for a quarter of the price.

A cool bar for those into the darker things I think. Strange portraits and scenes. The DJ that was playing was very psychedelic and the video was really...well strange. Not a place I'd pick again but decent drinks.

$5 cover fee. But a very welcoming and casual vibe. Arcade games. Live DJ on stage. Affordable drinks. Super friendly and attentive bar tenders (would be waiting on a drink and someone else would come up and ask if we’d been helped)! All in all, five stars.

Had a one hour layover in Albuquerque, NM and went to Sisters for Tuesday taco, $2 per taco. And they were so yummy, I had the chicken taco which did not disappoint. Really, for 2 bucks this was a great taco. Good beer selection but being Tuesday they were out of quite a few draft selections.

My boyfriend & I came here spontaneously, and it was amazing. Upon entering it was clear that it was more a lounge/drinks kinda place but we went for food, and we were not disappointed. Delicious brisket Frito Pie, queso, and chicken tacos. We are already planning our next trip back. 🤤

  • 5/5 Eric C. 1 year ago on Google
Cool little bar. Drinks are good, bartender Erin is effing awesome! I really like the Blood Orange Cider. Tacos were so so, but the chicken taco was definitely worth getting. I would definitely recommend stopping in. Another positive is that the drafts are cold, not on the warmer side like some establishments have.
