They raise they're own chili. And the quality is unquestionable. The Red chili was the sweet/hot that stands out. Like real family New Mexican food . Gracias stands with other family restaurant's providing a singularly New Mexican legacy.

Wow! Garcias has really gotten expensive. A large bowl of menudo is 18.50. Their combination plate is smaller, and everything tastes the same. It's too bad. We loved to go because it was good , affordable food for the whole family.

Today I called in for an order to be picked up. Upon entering their take out section, on 4th street, I heard the female employee in charge blabbering with the cook... and continued for about two minutes before attending to me. ( No acknowledgement or greeting when I came in.) Pathetic service with no class. What made it worse is the credit card machine asked if I wanted to give a tip. My tip is.... I would not recommend Garcias on 4th street.

It was a good authentic meal. Indian tacos were on special so we both ordered them. Although the sopaipillas were commercial they still were good. I must state though that the salsa has gotten much better since the last time I ate there. If they haven't already, they should market it.

Customer service has gone completely downhill at the front desk. On hold for 10+ min for phone order. Front desk person not serving orders because she's on her personal phone, while ringing up customers. Getting distracted! I thought I would never see the end of my hometown restaurant favorites. And the pickup station is no longer! 💔😢 Sad to see this business go downhill so quickly.

I always dine in at the 4 th and Griegos and service is fast and expedient. Try the carnitas burrito smothered with red or green. I like the green personally. The pork is stewed with love and goodness, which makes the meat tender and juicy. Salsa prob best in town. Tortilla chips though are too corse and thick for my tastes, 9 out of ten. On this dish.

-Food was alright. They no longer serve egg whites. (gross) I don't like yolk but I couldn't get egg without it. So I know I won't be eating breakfast at any Garcia's Restaurants. -when they brought our plates my boyfriend was not even close to what her ordered. So they got his order again and this time it took about 20 minutes for him to get his plate. -we had 3 different waitress/waiters on that visit. -Staff is so NOT friendly at all.

We recently had a reception after my aunt's funeral, the food and service was excellent. We would like to thank Jasmine and Martin. Jasmine had worked with me over several days, to make sure everything was perfect. It was. Guaranteed if we need catering. We will be calling Garcia's and Jasmine. Thank you once again for everything. My family appreciate everything you did for us.

You know it's going to be good when the parking lot is full and the restaurant is packed with locals. Brisket tacos were moist and flavorful. The chicharrones omlett was especially delicious.

  • 1/5 Charmaine R. 7 months ago on Google
Do not order anything with chicharones! They are terrible. I just ordered the burrito and to the trash it went! They were large chunks that were chewy and tasted like they were old. They need new cooks that know how to cook. Would have rather eaten McDonald's had I known how terrible the food was going to be.

We waited on the phone for for over 20 minutes to place an order and they told us to call back after one hour we called back after one hour. Waited another 20 minutes for somebody to answer the phone .They again told us to call back to place our order after one hour to speak to the manager so we called back again after about two hours we placed our order then she said we had to pay for it over the phone which is fine I had payment in hand then she said I had to call back in a couple of hours to make the payment. I told her I have the information in hand she said I know, but we are really busy right now you’ll have to call back in a couple of hours. I told her you already told me to call back after an hour which I did and then he told me to call back again after one hour which I did and now I’m calling you again to place the order and you don’t want to take the payment. What kind of Mickey Mouse operation do you have running over there? Her name is Najoni she was very short and rude and I would not recommend coming to this location, and with that kind of atmosphere I would stick to the juantabo location because they are the best by far. The only reason why we went to the fourth Street location is for convenience because we’re having an event in the middle of the week that needed to be taken care of which you have to place the order days in advance in order to get the stuff you need for the event for this being the a professional business I don’t see why you should have to call several times and be told to call back again after making the order the can kick rocks!! Worst place ever!!!

Service was pretty slow due to lunch rush but the server was trying. I find the food pretty mediocre: ingredients seem cheap and the preparation isn't really that flavorful. There are better places.

Great food, reasonably priced. Outstanding wait staff, always friendly. We go there quite a bit so they know us and know what we usually order😁

Everything here was bad from the get-go. Only 1 lady (at the register) was smiling and remotely friendly. We sat down to a table that was soaking wet and still dirty. Got yelled at for trying to grab a high chair (why have them if your guests can't use them) for my child. Only a small portion of the seating area was open. Person taking our drink order was extremely unfriendly and started raising their voice when we asked for a type of drink that they apparently don't have (no indication on the menu of what they serve). Waited 5 minutes after ordering drinks and no one ever came by table. Finally left after waiting for any kind of service and not getting it.

We eat breakfast at Garcia’s on Fourth St almost every weekend. The food is consistently delicious. Service is top notch, not matter how busy they get. Our huevos rancheros and carne breakfast burrito, both smothered in red chile, comes out hot and fast, and our coffee is refilled over and over.

Enjoyed breakfast with the kids. They offer both New Mexican options as well as traditional options for my picky eater. Great service.

Pretty good food. Had breakfast and it wasn't bad but not great. Liked the green chile, the red not so much

The food was cold. The sopas were cold and hard not fresh. The service was terrible, She did not check to see if we needed anything. We had to ask for silver ware and napkins. We were sitting by the window in a booth. I didn't get our server's name. She did not provider good service.

I had a short duration in which I could take a lunch and so the waitress super accommodated. Me and the food wasn't as temperature hot as a generally like to be honest but I ate every single bite. It was so delicious.

The waitress named Clarissa was awesome! The food is like home cooked NM food. The way Grandma used to make!

This establishment serves breakfast all day so I had a 3 egg and chorizo omelet. Served with fried potatoes and refried beans...an incredible meal! Add a side of toast to round off your meal! Check em' out!

Always a great meal here. Its one of my favorite restaurants here in town. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Its no wonder its always a popular place to eat.

This is the epitome of New Mexican food. By far the most red and best tasting red chili I have ever eaten. The food was ready in under 5 minutes and insanely fresh. I'm sorry Little Anita's but this is much better. If I ever have family come visit they will be coming to Garcia's kitchen. Restrooms left a little to be desired but everything else was so good that I really couldn't mark them down based on that. All in all this is the best family owned New Mexican restaurant I am aware of that isn't overpriced. 5 stars for sure.

I was born and raised in ABQ, moved away and Garcia's is one of the places that I want when I come back to my hometown. As per usual, I wanted Garica's so we went. I went with my mom and cousin and wasn't given silverware for my cousin. She ordered a kids taco plate and had to use my fork to eat, so basically ate with my hands. I ordered the Indian taco and it was okay. The base was pretty much a bigger sopapilla. Speaking of sopapilla, which are usually delish, they had a sweet taste to them and didn't taste right with my food. I usually grab biscochitos to take home with me but they were bo worthy anymore. I'm not sure if they are just short staffed ( our person, never came back until we were done, even asking for napkins, and silverware. We never had our drinks refilled.) I was highly disappointed this trip. Not sure I'll be back. 😞

I love this place. I'm so sorry some of the restaurants had to close. The chile was excellent! The whole dinner was great.

    1) Garcia’s is notorious for being stingy with their chili. Hardly any on the plate and when asked for more, they brought a tiny container and wanted to charge $1.59 for it. No thanks. 2) the ground beef was about as low quality as I’ve ever tasted. Almost like canned food. If you’re in the area and want quality New Mexican food, I’d highly suggest Casa De Benavidez.

We went to Garcia's on a recent trip back to our hometown. Just wanted to say that Clarissa was our waitress and she is so genuine and friendly. Truly the best waitress I've ever had anywhere! We also stocked up on biscochitos to bring home to neighbors and friends. Can't wait to get back to ABQ for another great meal at Garcia's!

It took us forever to checkout. The table was dirty when we sat down. I ordered Indian taco and asked to add brisket. It came with brisket only (it's supposed to be with ground beef also). I asked my server not to charge me if they didn't put ground beef. She said: "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you substituted to brisket". I said she probably didn't know her menu well, because it doesn't say "substitute" it says "add on". Anyways, the food was good but the service should be worked on.

My mom wanted local New Mexican food, so we came here and were highly pleased. Our server was amazing, she rushed out my toddler niece's food because she was getting grumpy. The food was fresh and delicious, plus, it came out pretty fast. I would highly recommend this location.
