We have patronized this business for years. They provide excellent service, food is delicious and the owner personally stops by each table to greet the guest and to ensure they are receiving a great customer experience. Highly recommend.

After going to Sakura on a regular basis for years now, we are sad to say that last night was our last "meal" there.  Our server Ryan was friendly upon our arrival, but after we placed our order, he did not return until after our meals were brought out by another server.  He asked us how everything looked, and then never returned.  We had yet to try the food. Upon trying our 3 signature rolls and entree, it was not the fresh, firm fish that we have been accustomed to having here.  The soup was tasteless and vegetables sour. We sat and waited to get our server's attention, but got tired of waiting.  We were quite hungry from our busy work days, and we're ready to nourish ourselves.  Disgusting.  Save the $100 bucks and go elsewhere.  I hate seeing quality go down the drain with the increase in goods, but we would have gladly paid more for quality, good food. To top it all off, it was brought to the owner's attention and she only offered to replace the one entree.  We had wallets out, jackets on, and were ready to go at this point.  We told her we were "just ready to go." We declined but she insisted on replacing the meal.  I signed and agreed and clearly asked for it "to go."  We should have just left money on the table and left because this was the icing on the cake.  She brought the replacement out to be eaten there.  We specifically said "to go." We had waited there long enough. Poor experience all around and it has left us both with a bad taste in our mouth in more ways than one.  A very sad experience.

Atmosphere is very nice! Our server was super kind and helpful! Food is amazing! We started with the monkey brain appetizer. That set the stage for the rest of the dinner. It was very delicious and flavorful. If you're looking to try an appetizer don't think twice about the monkey brain. I asked if I should go with the American Dream roll or the Dragon roll, without any hesitation our waitress recommend the American Dream roll. She did not steer me wrong. It was great! My fiancé had teriyaki chicken with fried rice. It too tasted really good. The kids had the California roll and it was very fresh. After dinner they brought out some tea for us. We enjoyed our dinner! We'll come back to try other food for sure. Highly recommend eating here.

I ordered the double salmon roll which was fantastic. The customer service was also great, and accommodating when I asked for lemons to put on my edamame. My only issue here though was my edamame looked dirty, which made it somewhat unpleasant to eat. Aside from that the rest of the experience was good.

Go to Sakura Sushi and Grill if you are looking for fresh, delicious sushi. Because of reading excellent reviews about Sakura, we went to dinner and sat at the Sushi bar. The head sushi chef was friendly, helpful, and served first class sushi. The fish was incredibly fresh, some flown in from Japan! The menu was varied. The owner of the restaurant came by and introduced herself and was so friendly as well. Great restaurant!

My family and I were spending the week in Albuquerque and my kids wanted sushi so we found Sakura via a quick Google search. The atmosphere was solid, very clean. Our waiter Ryan was extremely good. He took time to talk to my kids and was very attentive and quick with service. The food was some of the better sushi I've had and my kids all enjoyed their sushi rolls as well. All in all I recommend Sakura to anyone on the ABQ area wanting a good sushi restaurant. Being half-Korean, I also loved that they had Korean options on the menu, I didn't order anything off that part of the menu so can't comment on the quality but it was great to see.

Friendly and quick service. The sushi boats are fun, but the double salmon roll is my fave! Our server brought out a dessert tea to help my 8 year old feel better when he was down. Clean restrooms.

I wanted sushi for my birthday dinner and after reading several reviews, we chose to try Sakura. I'm so glad we did. Definitely a 5-star experience in every category. The sushi rolls were the best I've had in Albuquerque.

Honestly, I've lived in so many places and ate sushi in so many different states including states with the freshest of fish, Sakura is 1000000% the best place to get sushi in Albuquerque hands down. They never fail us. I will recommend Sakura to everyone I know 100% of the time. They are always so nice. The sushi is soooooooo good, trust me when I say that you will not be disappointed. It's literally the best sushi in all of NM. The absolute best NM has.

We went for sushi rolls and it was really fantastic. We definitely plan on going back sometimes. I forget our server's name, but I thought she was very kind. Our appetizer food was hot and fresh, the soup was wonderful, and it was all around a very enjoyable experience. I can't wait to go back.

What can I say? This is my happy place! Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and led to our table. Our hostess took our drink order and our server was friendly and helpful and not stingy with the smiles. I ordered the chirashizushi with an upgrade to the premium fish, my daughter, a first timer to sushi, ordered the shrimp tempura crunch roll. We also ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura for starters. The tempura arrived, nicely plated and delicious. Our entrees arrived and looked absolutely beautiful. A delightful surprise was the fresh grated wasabi which I thought to be hard to get in the states not to mention Albuquerque! My daughter took one bite and absolutely fell in love with her meal and promptly ordered another roll, mentioning to our server that she loved the crunchy topping. Her second roll arrived but with extra crunchy topping as requested by our server. Our meal was finished with a cup of cinnamon tea, nicely sweetened and served cold! I'm so taken with Sakura and cannot wait to go back!!!

A real gem in the neighborhood! I decided to dine solo last night and had the most lovely experience! I went at 6:30 and all of the tables were taken… a good sign that this was a popular sushi restaurant! I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. I ordered edamame which was served with miso soup. Both were hot and fresh! I had the American Dream roll 💙 it came out perfect! I will be back!!! Great takeout too!!! Packaged nicely! 🍱

The sushi was tasty and I liked their creative rolls (the ABQ roll was delicious!), but my husband and I felt rushed. We ordered 4 rolls and explained we may order more food, but we were brought our check before we even finished the rolls we ordered. The waitress seemed surprised when we wanted to order more food, even though we already asked to keep a menu to order more but were told we couldn’t keep the menu. While we were able to get more food, we didn’t feel like we could leisurely eat. We went on a Wednesday right when they opened, so over half the tables were empty.

New favorite Sushi place! My husband and I ordered, and the course began with miso soup (unexpected). At the end of our meal, they ended with a small tea cup dessert drink (also unexpected). What tasty surprises! Our waiter was so pleasant and cheerful! We will definitely return!

We LOVE Sakura! So happy to have them in the south valley. The food is amazing and the people are so nice. We were worried they closed because they no longer answer the phone, but we think it’s probably a staffing issue. Amazing prices and quality sushi.

You simply cannot put a price on a good dining experience. I enjoyed the casual vibe that the restaurant had - everybody was having a good time. Our cook in particular seemingly went out of his way to give us a good experience, talking to us and playing little games as he cooked. Aside from those in my party, we also ate with a small family who had two kids and they couldn't get enough of our cook who kept making them laugh, and in turn, kept us in our high spirits. I will come back again, because these types of dining experiences don't just leave your stomach full, but leave your heart full as well.

I have been going to this restaurant for years now.. it's constantly a great place to eat. Most places struggle to make great sushi when some chefs are out or short staffed. This place is dependably great..

I have eaten here 3 times now. Service is amazing, all waiters help all tables. But...the 1 star is for the portion size. The rolls and nigiri are so small it's almost comical! I can understand if you have a very small portion of rice then at least give more on the filling but both are tiny. You literally have to order double what you normally eat to be satisfied. That is so unacceptable to me and it's like scamming your customers no matter how good the sushi is. My salmon nigiri looked like they took one piece and cut it in half and charged me for 2 pieces. I will attach a photo to hopefully show how skinny it was. If you don't mind paying double or triple for your sushi portions then I'm sure you will love this place!

Husband had filet mignon, cook to perfection. I had premium sashimi and it was definitely worth the extra $6. Our server was very attentive and polite. Will definitely be coming back here at some point for a romantic dinner.
