I was craving some good tacos and selected this place based on the reviews. It looked like a cute little spot for dinner. Unfortunately, that’s all it offers. The server who greeted me wasn’t friendly at all - That was when my instincts first told me to run but I ignored it and decided to stay. I ordered the taco dish with chicken, served with a side of beans and potatoes. When it was brought out (less than 5 minutes after ordering 🤨), I couldn’t help but notice how plain and dry the tacos looked…just shredded pale chicken, some lettuce, and a few pieces of chopped tomato? I took a bite and instantly regretted my order. They were the most bland tacos I have ever had anywhere in my life. I’m not kidding when I tell you the chicken tasted like it was boiled and had absolutely no seasonings. I drowned it with the little salsa they provided on the side to try and stomach it but that still wasn’t enough. I tasted the beans hoping for something else I could add to the tacos for flavor but that too was disgustingly bland. It tasted like they just boil and serve those too, again, without any seasonings. And the potatoes? That was the only thing seasoned but for some reason, it had a hint of a fishy taste. I couldn’t eat that either. It was horrible and the worst $15 I have ever spent. I would’ve been better off eating at Chipotle 🙄 I truly don’t understand how they receive so many high ratings but I guess some folks are okay with dry, unseasoned food. True Mexican/Southwestern food is FULL of flavor - It’s offensive that they even consider this Mexican/Southwestern. If you’re like me and season your food with something other than salt and pepper, avoid this place like the plague. If not, good luck and bon appétit! 🤢

Recommended to me by a friend from the area. He may have disappointed me once or twice but El Patio did not! The Frito Pie was a must as well as the stuffed sopapillas. And if you're not from around there (like us) the when someone says it comes with chiles they don't mean Hormel! Hatch Chile. Not the Texas Chilli 😅 Pet friendly patio!

So my boyfriend found this spot , at first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try but there was no more vegan options for me so I need up trying it , so I got the vegan enchiladas they were pretty good their salsa is so good so we ended up going the next day for breakfast I know they don’t have vegan burritos on their menu, but I ended up customizing my own so I got potato, beans, onions and avocado inside with red and green salsa and a side salad honestly pretty good so if your vegan then you should try this. ! Honestly I think they should add this vegan burrito on their menu just so vegans could have more options . But everything was great !

Fantastic food served by awesome staff in a really cool atmosphere. The menu is small, but the selections are delicious. Might be the best engulf I've ever had but the sopapilla was clearly the best I've had. The staff was extremely nice and attentive and they offer both indoor and outdoor dining. There is a small parking lot and also pay for street parking. I highly recommend trying El Patio De Albuquerque!

Absolutely fantastic service! Even in the busy evening, our server was kind, professional, and courteous. The sopapillas are amazing, so I recommend a plate that comes with one. Green chile chicken enchiladas are delicious, and we loved the papas. The outdoor dining has a great atmosphere. I would recommend trying this place. Our server was Lil Steve, and I couldn't be happier with the service.

Here in Albuquerque for work and it’s my first visit and people say you have to try green Chile everything. So I orders the Chile chips and the El Patio combo. The Chile chip is soo good, didn’t know what to expect but you can’t go wrong with fried and a Chile ranch dip yum. Everything was so good and complimentary sopapillas which they do every where here. This place is good and the staff is super friendly.

I come here every time I return to/visit ABQ and I always enjoy myself. The sopapillas were a bit sad today - pretty flat and not flaky like usual. This restaurant is very vegetarian friendly and the service is always great. Indoor and outdoor seating.

If this isn't your 'go to' place for New Mexican food, it should be. The food is fresh and delicious. Portions are big enough that you could have leftovers. But it's so good, you'll eat it all. Plus sopapillas. Servers seemed stretched, yet you still feel well taken care of. Excellent!

Food is amazing! The red and green flavor is awesome and spicy. The sopas are to die for. So good you don’t even need the honey. A must try you will not be disappointed.

They have got to have the best sopapillas in town, and the food is hard to beat as well. This was our last stop in town and I wish it would have been our first. The guacamole was probably the best I ever had as well. Just a great experience and a must-stop while visiting Albuquerque.

It’s just Mexican food. Nothing special here. They seem to have a hard time keeping staff cause there was only 4 people working so it takes awhile to get seated. But cozy little place off the main strip. Food was tasty.

This place looked super cute online. Passing through town we made a special trip to check out this cute patio restaurant. Beautiful evening outside and when we asked if we could sit on the open patio we were told they were trying not to sit people there because another patron on the patio had a dog.....so we were forced to sit inside and look at the "nice patio" out the window. Right after we ordered, another server immediately sits another family outside on the patio to enjoy the nice evening air just where we hoped to enjoy our meal 🙄 the food was very tasty but be warned it is VERY spicy! If you are sensitive, it will get you!

Nachos are very disappointing. They lacked any flavor that you would have expected. Also the green chili was way too hot, could not taste chili flavor…. I overheard other customers saying they never get the green, only the red.

El Patio has indoor and outdoor seating, and overall exceeded my expectations. The service and food were very good. Two warnings. First, parking can be very challenging. I was there during a workday evening, and had to drive around a bit and walk about a block. The restaurant does have a small parking area in back that is easy to overlook. Second, the waiter told us that their system could not split checks for a table. Our party was not prepared for this and we almost left.

Went during a weekday evening with two coworkers. Waited a little bit to get a seat. Sat outside. Ordered chips, guac, and salsa to start. Salsa and guac were okay. Drank bottled beers. Ate one of their specialties of enchiladas with a fried egg on top. It had good flavor. As with everything in ABQ all food and sides were infused with green chili. Service was good, atmosphere was nice since it was a nice day.

My husband loved his dinner. I took one bite of my tacos, and they fell apart, I ended up eating just the insides with a fork.

Great food. You get more than way you pay for. Being on vacation. Me and my bf got dinner and then enough for lunch the next day. Worth it. I'm definitely visiting again if I'm in the city.

I love this place with all my little heart! Everytime I visit Albuquerque, I either get lunch or dinner or both from El Patio. Food is always hot and fresh. Probably the world's most friendly service staff. I recommend getting the Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas with a Dos Equis Amber!

Great spot for new Mexican cuisine with a homemade feel. The restaurant is family owned and the building is the family's old home. Highly recommend the combo #2.

I ordered the green chille chicken anchiladas and had them with blue corn Tortillas as substitute but they were amazing. Probably the best enchilada I've ever had. I am visiting for business this week and I'll probably try some of El Patios other dishes before I leave!

On a work trip I went in blind into this restaurant and I was amazed how authentic the food tasted. I asked for carne asada and they didn’t have it, so the recommended the Carne Adovada! It did not disappoint! I ate every bite it was so delicious! Guac was good too! I will be back!

Went on a Saturday night, the wait took a bit but was well worth it. Once we were seated, the service was top notch. Their Green Chile enchiladas with chicken were very good, also enjoyed the papas. But the best part was the Sopapillas for dessert. Best I've ever had.

Food was okay, but service was marginal at best. We were the only people in there and wanted to sit at a larger table but were told it was reserved for 3 or more. The entire place was empty! After a few minutes sitting where they put us (looking into the bathrooms) we moved to a small table on the patio, and the staff (two guys) seemed rather put out by that. Drinks were very slow to arrive, and the beer was not cold. Once our food arrived the waiter never came back again. He walked by us several times and never once glanced in our direction (and the place was still mostly empty). I had to flag him down to get another drink and our bill. Then he watched intently over my partner's shoulder while he added the tip. Creepy and unprofessional. We felt very unwelcome, like they sure didn't want our business. Never a smile or thank you for coming to their restaurant. It was pretty odd, actually. We won't be back.

Small, unassuming, local fav, with great food, prompt attentive service, and good prices. Ask for the carne adovada as a stuffed sopapilla Christmas style and find yourself in New Mexico dining heaven.

We loved this place!! Don’t let it fool you when you drive up! We came with another couple that had been traveling with us from Atlanta. Two had enchiladas and two had the stuffed sopapillas Everyone was extremely satisfied and thrilled at how wonderful this little gem was!! It is not fancy but an awesome experience!! It was our only dinner in Albuquerque and we were happy to find this little local hangout!! Shout out to Levi who was our server!!
