This place is a hole in the wall with a great vibe. It's partially below ground with really low ceilings. Lots of great beers on tap. The food ... omg, the food is mouthwatering. The fried mac n cheese balls are perfect. I could make an entire meal on those alone. If you don't get them, you are truly missing out! They have sliders and tacos that you can order as mix and match so you can try multiple flavors. Everything was delicious. One warning, I asked how hot the Nash hot is, waitress said not that hot ... it was so hot. Everyone in my group is used to really hot food. We are from Texas after all. But we were sweating from the heat in this spice!! Still was awesome. Staff was super friendly and fun. They joked around with us, sarcasm back when we were messing with them through sarcasm. An all around great experience

Probably one of Louisville's best kept secrets. This little hole in the wall is a real treasure. The food is always excellent. They have a wide selection of beers both on tap and in bottles and cans, so they're sure to have something that you will enjoy. The menu has very unique items on it. The service is always fast and friendly. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

We visited this place six years ago and we came back for a visit! Everything tasted just as amazing as we remembered it!!! Ribs are amazing. The tacos were delicious and the Mac and cheese was the bomb!!!! I hope it's not another 6 years before I make it back to Hammerhead.

Hammerheads easily doesn't need another GREAT review. But here it is anyway. From the minute we walked in to closing time we were treated not like " locals" but like family. KJ behind the bar not just doing his job but making this neighborhood bar the best part of our trip so far! Think it's just beer and burgers? Think again! High end cocktails and elk! Brisket tacos melt in your mouth!

Passing through KY, and found this jem for dinner. She ordered smoked duck tacos and smoked pork belly tacos. I ordered the half rack of smoked lamb ribs. We ordered the smoked cheddar grit tots and garlic herb fries (fried in duck fat) with smoked mayo sauce and sage mayo sauce (for dipping fries). Everything was absolutely delicious! The grit tots weren't my favorite, but still good. Meats were super flavorful and tender. I would recommend to anyone, and hope to stop by again, the next time we're passing through!

Tried the Elk Burger and it was sumptuous. Next time I'm trying the Venison burger. Garlic herb fries were okay, nothing you'd miss. The duck and brisket tacos were also fantastic and can be ordered as 1 each on a single order of 2.

My husband found this place online, saw they offered elk, and was like, "Hey, let's take a trip!" And here we are...6hrs away from home to try the elk burger. Our waiter suggested the smoked wings for the appetizer and O..M..G! Best wings I have ever eaten. There is no need for sauce! This place is definitely worth the trip. I've even told the hotel staff about this place cause they've never been. We also did try the truffle fries, and they were a bit too greasy for me. However, it was a unique taste, and now I can say that I've had them. This was also the first time I've ever tried duck. I truly appreciate them for keeping my meal dairy free due to my allergy. Thank you all for a unique time.

Food was amazing. Service was great, except 1 of our 5 entrees was obviously forgotten and came out when most everyone else was finished. They have a very diverse menu with lots of creative options. Willing to give them another chance next time in town.

This place is amazing! Had it recommended by a local and could not have been happier. Place was packed so we had to sit at the bar. Food was delicious. Had the smoked duck sandwich and garlic fries. With their specialty spicy mango margartia. Service was friendly and attentive. The only issue was the fries came after we were finished our sandwiches. Which obviously was far from ideal. But they apologized & didn't charge us. I'm still giving them 5 stars simply for the way the managed it. Would defintiely go back next time I was on town.

First the service was amazing and very friendly. I ordered the pretzel croissant with beer cheese. This could possibly be the best beer cheese in the Louisville area. I then ordered the pulled pork sandwich without tomato. I actually added some of the beer cheese that I had with the pretzels to the sandwich as well as the house BBQ sauce. This made for a great tasting sammich. I ordered the baked beans with pork belly on the side and also found those to be great. Especially paired with the pulled pork. They have a sneaky heat to them that catches you on the back end. Great meal and great service. Would definitely recommend

Everyone has a full dynamic personality with real customer service and southern hospitality! The chicken wing appetizer was just the right amount of everything! The smoked meats and vegan options are worth a do over and over!!! Prices are definitely practical on a simple budget! OMGosh….The Spicy Mango Margarita is palette pleasing heaven! This place was so good. Came to Louisville from California just for a quick visit. A local told us to try this place and we did. Had the grippo duck fat fries, deep fried mushrooms, grit tots, catfish tacos, pork belly tacos, pork belly sandwich, 1/2 rack of pork ribs, and Mac and cheese. All of it was so good. A must go to spot.

This is a hole in the wall restaurant perfect for one of Guy Fieri's shows. It was on the Food Network though. Excellent food. You're in for a treat. We happened to be in the area and my friend was looking up places and I stopped her at Hammerhead. Looked up the address and just came right over. The food here is so good. We tried duck and brisket sliders, mac & cheese balls, mixed salad, chicken wings, Garcia Burger and chocolate mousse cake. Thank you KJ for the awesome service. We'll bring our friends next time we're in town.

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. Small, family feel with big flavor! We had the duck tacos, soft blue crab tacos, fried mushrooms and mac and cheese balls. Service was quick and friendly!

At my favorite Louisville place!! If you have never ate @hammerheads_germantown your truly missing out!! It’s phenomenal!! Pork belly tacos and roasted duck tacos with fries fried in duck fat with truffle oil on them. I mean I would drive the 3 hrs jus for the fries!!

Everyone was so nice. The food was incredible. I had the truffle fries, the crispy mushrooms, the pork belly slider, duck taco, and brisket taco. Everything was good but my favorites were the mushrooms, the slider, and the brisket taco. I also had a mojito. It was exactly how I like it. So refreshing! We were a party of four and all the tables were full so we sat at the bar. It was fun! The staff was so friendly. I just love everything about this place.

Hammerheads is consistently delicious! They've got some local beers & changing cocktails. It's busy from open-close on Sundays so prepare for a possible wait but take solace in knowing it is 100% worth it! I crave the soft-shell crab slider so I get it every time I come. Staff is great, drinks are great & food is killer- try it for yourself!

Last time I went to hammerheads ‘m Everything was great. I was happy and my wife was happy so that makes me extra happy. I got food and I liked my server and I could find the bathroom and the food was hot and the beer was cold and the wind was blowing but I couldn’t tell because I was inside hammerheads eating delicious food and having a wonderful time. You can go to hammerheads and do just like I did when I went there and you could leave with a big nice smile and then drive home.

The truffle fries cooked in duck sauce are DELICIOUS. The chorizo burger was delicious. The duck ribs fell off the bone. The food was so fast, the longest part of our experience was getting the check. Everything was well seasoned, I forgot to ask for sauce for my fries and it was fine because the truffle fries have so much flavor. Also sorry I don't have more of a description besides it being delicious, but if you are the kind of person who believes that a burger should have flavor without being dressed before even adding anything then you will love their chorizo burger. It's delicious.

Had the brisket, duck, pork belly sliders. Their mac and cheese balls are out of this world. Hands down the best bbq I've ever had anywhere in the world! This place is amazing. If I could travel the 6 hours it takes me to get here for dinner I would do it!

Excellent local restaurant specializing in tacos and assorted bar food. We tried the brisket tacos and the elk burger. Both were absolutely delicious and went well with the wide selection of beers on tap and in the bottle or can. Highly recommend stopping here. We'll be back again!

Louisville, the quintessential food paradise. So many great restaurants! But Hammerheads is upper echelon. There isn’t a thing on the menu that won’t blow your mind! Delicious smoked meats, pork belly, brisket and pulled pork. Have these juicy meats on sliders, burgers, and tacos. The fries are so flavorful, the beers and the whisky’s! Favorite restaurant in Louisville! Must visit!

The food was great but a bit cold (maybe because it was very cold in the restaurant at the time). Fries were hot and good. The service was great and there was a bit of a wait. Overall, this is a good place to eat!

Omg! The food here. Mac and cheese balls, sliders (brisket, duck and pork belly) all were so delicious. Sat outside with gorgeous weather. Fantastic service. Enjoyed food not served or made anywhere else like THIS! Highly recommend.

Had the lamb ribs, elk burger, truffle fries, garlic fries, and the fried mushrooms. All were very good and generous portions. The lamb ribs look small but they are filling. Definitely plan to come again if I ever come back to Louisville.

Truly this is my FAVORITE burger in Louisville. I love the vibe of the place & the food is awesome. They also have great drink choices. Highly recommend coming here whether you are a local or in town visiting!

Talk about a perect restaurant! The lamb ribs are out of this world and I've never been to another restaurant that has a better fried mushroom app (hint, they don't use button mushrooms). Also, their weekly margarita put to shame every margarita I've had at any Mexican restaurant simply because they make their mix in house. I had the spicy peach and I don't think it will be a while before I try one from a different place. Staff are spectacular as well :) We would be back at least once a week if we lived in Louisville!

It's after 11 pm and my stomach is still turning. Nasty gross food. The pork belly was completely burnt. Burnt not well done.we ordered duck fries.Fries were old refried unsalted dry garbage. They brought out a second batch of dried up garbage, however this time was truffle. Did not order truffle. Elk burger was over cooked. Ordered med rare. Had the liquid smoke chicken wings, nasty tasting. Also nothing was hot. The duck sandwich was good. But all that grease made the bun soggy. I think that is what got me sick. I really did not eat enough of anything else but 1/2 of the duck sandwich. We drove 7 hours to eat here. Seen on Zimmerman list. They kitchen staff was arguing. The cook should be fired for actually serving this old cold dry unseasonably food that went where is belonged in the trash. They should be ashamed to serve such food. People lined up for this nasty food. Save your money. Buy cook book and make your own food.
