Good food and good vibes. The staff were friendly and checked on took orders quickly. The burger tasted delicious and was ready in a reasonable time. The tavern was clean and had a great atmosphere. Price was extremely reasonable.

Came here on a fall Friday afternoon. Great atmosphere, nice small pub with very friendly wait staff and bartenders. We will definitely come back. It is located in Old Louisville and you can tell several of the patrons live in the nearby area and these people come here frequently. Food came out hot and the French Dip that I had was THE BEST one I have ever had anywhere. The meat was juicy and plenty of it- big ol’ sandwich. They have an upstairs dining area and an outside patio. Dining here at night would be cool—-will have to do that sometime. Everyone in our party was very satisfied with food and experience.

Food was great for bar food standards.Service was slower than we would like and the waitress forgot to refill our water and did not check on us regularly. Outside seating was nice but they do not allow you to rearrange tables and we had a large party so had to wait for a table to open up. Definitely recommend the truffle fries, burgers and wings! The wings were the favorite of the table. The pickle spears were a 6/10. I heard great things about the mushroom fries but they were out of them when we went (they must be good!). Good neighborhood spot to check out! Follow us for more restaurant reviews and food photography!

This isn’t just neighborhood staple… it’s damn near iconic. The menu selection is nice but the taste is AH MAZING! I’ll be enjoying The Tavern salad (with an out of this world vinaigrette) and the Double Stacked Grilled Cheese Sandwich (with four cheese and cartelized onions) with fries! Please don’t sleep on this neighborhood gem!!! Go by and enjoy👉🏼 thank me later ‼️

Atmosphere and food are really good! We’ve been here a couple times with friends and it’s always been a great experience. Would highly recommend the steak frites (that’s my favorite dish thus far). The mimosa I ordered last time was also really good! They weren’t too busy during the Sunday lunch hours, so the service was also really good! Drinks were refilled and our order was placed and brought out after a short wait.

I'm really not sure how this place is rated so high. maybe it's the stuff we ordered, or because I'm brown skinned or it's just one of those off days for the restaurant. We have to be seated at a booth down stairs, but was told that the booth (see picture) seats six people and since our party was only three they could not seat us there. We were offered a booth, literally 3 feet away from the toilets and five feet away from the noisy kitchen. I definitely declined and was then asked to find my own table upstairs. Being seated upstairs had its own challenges. My wife had to bring us our silverware and napkins. The waitress forgot to bring my son his coke and the sliders I ordered were three measly dry 1.5 inch thin patties on dry buns with a little ketchup. I've never felt more cheated out of only $14 with those sliders. Also, when we were leaving, the booth we asked for was still empty. And we were staying at the Marriott and decided to give a local business some custom. My advice stay away from this joint!

This place really surprised me as it doesn’t look like much from the outside. The food was outstanding as was the service. The pretzel sticks and French dip were both amazing. There were also no shortage of people in there on a Sunday night which is always a good sign in my opinion. It’s definitely a drinking establishment but the food is equally good.

After driving by the Old Louisville Tavern many times, I finally decided to give them a try and I was pleasantly surprised: they offered a tasty and generous portion of beer battered and fried cod. It was served with lots of hot, fresh cut fries and a serving of coleslaw which was in a tiny condiment cup, equivalent to the amount of ketchup you might expect to get if you asked for it on the side to dip your fries. The service was great and I'm definitely going to go back!

This place was excellent! My wife and I found this place in an ad while searching for something when coming through Louisville from Campbellsville for some appointments and we are tired of the same old chain foods and are trying all the local offerings and this will definitely be a place we come back too. We came in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday so they weren’t real busy but they had a good flow of people. We got right in and seated and got our food quick. The food was fresh, prepared well and tasted great. Our waitress Brandi was excellent and extremely friendly. I couldn’t help but notice because we ate indoors out of the heat the seating is a open floor plan because it is after all a bar setting that Brandi was constantly busy. We were there little over an hour and I only seen her stop once to take a sip of something to drink. She was constantly cleaning, greeting folks when they came in, attentive to customers, checking on my wife and I, making sure everyone liked their food, filling drinks, making alcoholic drinks. The girl really puts in the work and I hope if the manager and/or owner reads this they realize the kind of employee they got there because so many don’t have that sort of work ethic these days. That young lady is certainly worth keeping around by what my wife and I seen that day and we both have managementi experience. If I had one critique about anything it was my sandwich and it wasn’t even enough to dock a star. I love Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and I’m picky about them. The peppers and onions were cut up so tiny and stuffed on the bottom and were soggy on the bun which made them nearly impossible to taste. Flip that and put them on top, make them bigger then add the cheese. It tasted mostly of meat and cheese and hard to taste anything else. That’s my only suggestion otherwise the food was great, the place was inviting and Brandi was excellent. We will be back. (Posted June 2021)

My husband & I tried this place since the menu looked interesting with it's mushroom fries and it was one of the closest places to eat compared to where we were when the restaurant we had reservations at called to let us know they were closing early. I was bummed date night took a turn, but am very happy we found this place! I was going to do the ahi tuna sandwich when the server said they were out of tuna, but could substitute salmon. Again I was pretty bummed, but honestly that was one of the best salmon fillets I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was phenomenal. You can tell it's more of a local hangout, but with food like that I'd be a regular if it was closer. My only complaint (mild as it is) is that the fries were room temp at best and so they got soggy being on the same plate as the sandwich. Part of that is them being the thinner cut so there's only so much you can do.

It’s seat yourself, so just grab whatever seat you can. Service was fine, it was packed after a football game when I went. Food was pretty good and also served pretty fast.

Fantastic bar spot. The bourbon selection was phenomenal, and the service was top notch. The food also was very tasty, which paired great with our whiskey selections. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience at Old Louisville Tavern! My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way home to Kansas City (long drive!). The service was nice, the atmosphere was just right and the food was delicious! I ordered the Ville’y Cheesesteak which is pictured. Tender steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms and then smothered with two cheeses! The bun was soft and the fries were delicious too! Best food I had on our vacation! My wife ordered the Patty Melt which was very good, and she got onion rings ($3 up charge) instead of fries. We both left satisfied and stuffed. We’re talking about taking a short trip to Louisville sometime, and this place will be in our plans when we do!

OLT is a great lunch spot. A varied enough menu of sandwiches and fantastic burgers, alongside wings, portabella fries, and other great bar food appetizers. The bar manager Jenn is no-nosense top-notch customer service personified. A bourbon list many bars in town envy and some other classic liquors/liqueurs, but don't pass up on the brown bag special! $4 for a random beer and a shot is a hard bargain to beat if you're just looking for a fun time or a few drinks!

Always great. Casual indoor and outdoor seating, nice draft beer list, and the food never disappoints. Get the portobello fries, you're welcome.

Food was great, the manager Jennifer took extra special care of our large group and helped us pixk some amazing Rye whiskeys! Can't wait to come back and explore more or the awesome bourbon selection!

Great place - excellent music playing at a good volume (i.e. not too loud to talk over), very clean, friendly staff, and GREAT food! Took a photo of the phenomenal Mac 'n Cheese before it was completely devoured!

Solid food and pretty good prices for what you get. I had the Scotty Stack burger (no bun to keep it low carb) and the tavern salad. The burger was solid but that salad was even better.

My wedge salad was delicious. My husband said his burger and fries were pretty good as well. My son said his kid's cheese burger was "okay". The atmosphere was nice and the staff was nice.

Tried the steak frites and it was simply delicious 😋 served with fries and cold beer. Our hostess was also very kind with top notch service.

Nice atmosphere and food was good - but we waited 1.5 hrs for our food. Staff was clearly overwhelmed. To their credit, they discounted our bill.

Loved this place. Great food, great service from Wyatte, and comfortable and welcoming patio. We are from out-of-town, and were looking for a laid-back place with reasonable prices and outdoor dining. This place met our expectations and then some. We will definitely go back here next time we're in Louisville!

The Old Fashioned was disgusting, but the Mule was delicious. My wife and I meals were fantastic. Great place. Will go again. More thing: the kitchen was clean. Brownie points.
