Big place with a pretty cool environment, helpful service, and decent food, but the menu isn’t very cohesive. As you can see from my pictures, they have everything from fried poboys to fancy seared salmon, and a huge short rib trying to seem fancier than it is. Not to mention classic barbecue options, grilled cheese and tomato soup. So they’re kinda all over the place - I got the short rib because I’ve never had it, so I couldn’t resist. It was pretty good, but it’s the most expensive thing on the menu and I wish I had gotten something cheaper and with more variety (which would’ve been the other option I was debating). My friend got their classic burger and ordered it medium done, and it came out very rare - pretty much raw. It was sent back, and they took it off his bill, but the second burger he got back was hardly an improvement at all, and was still very rare. Their fries were really good though. Overall I don’t think I’d say i wouldn’t come back, but I probably wouldn’t pick it. They were very busy and were able to sit six of us without a reservation, and the waitress was helpful and attentive, and they were apologetic to my friend and he got a free meal without asking, so I do appreciate and respect them.

Nathan our server and Kip were amazing! Best customer service ever. We came for the oysters & peel & eat shrimp which did not dissapoint. The sampler platter with ribs was delicious but the chicken stole the show! Don't sleep on those greens with malt vinegar... The food is over the top but the service takes this place to a whole new level. Hope the powers that be know how proud they are of this business...

Beautiful bar area with an amazing assortment of Bourbon. The bartender was knowledgeable about what we may want to try. The menu of drinks is so impressive. We waited 40 min for our table which was easy to do because the atmosphere is so comfortable. Then the hostess lead us through what seemed like a never-ending maze (1 full block) to the back of the restaurant into this stunning room with enormous windows. The windows were from cathedral ceiling to floor. Many large groups of people at tables for 12 or more but it didn't feel crowded because of the way the restaurant is set up into areas. The food is delicious. My table ordered fried okra, raw oysters, smokey nachos, salad wedges, and potatoes (as big as your plate) stuffed with brisket. This food was so delicious and we didn't wait a long time at all. Our server (in the cute shirts that they sell) was kind and so funny. He had our drinks and food out fast. I highly recommend Doc Crows. We came in from NY, NJ, and Conn for a volleyball tournament and weren't treated like tourists. The atmosphere is upbeat, friendly, and very welcoming.

This place is so delicious! Everything we got was perfect. We had chili, beef short ribs, a sampler, shrimp and cheddar grits, Derby pie, bread pudding, apple pie, green label fight of bourbon, etc. We ate some much that it was hard to walk out of there. This is a "must stop in" place when visiting Louisville.

Amazing lunch. We had a great time, was great service location and atmosphere. Love that they have OpenTable. We enjoyed the kids cheeseburger, shrimp and grits, shrimp Po boy, wings, short rib. It was all fantastic. Had a great slice of derby pie to finish which was amazing.

Hot spot barbecue location on main street in downtown louisville. Menu fits all appetites whether it be steak, chicken, vegetarian or seafood lover. Highly recommend the fried okra... Breaded to perfection, the oysters on the Half shell taste like high dollar and are house prices. Finally the crab cakes are full of delicious crab meat and cooked to perfection. Definitely will be back. Recommend making reservations as this is a popular location

We’ve been here a couple of times and their food is delicious! We went just as a couple and then another time with a large party. The space is huge and can cater to small and large groups. The staff did a great job at catering to our group and the food and drinks came out in a timely manner. They even offered to take a picture for us! Both times I ordered the same thing…their brisket stuffed baked potato! (I really like potato dishes in general) And it’s so GOOD! My husband has ordered their ribs and their brisket sandwich. But even if you’re not a fan of BBQ, they have a variety of food and drink options.

Overall a pretty good spot with good food and an absolutely insane whiskey list. "Doc's Chicken" was particularly good, very tender and flavorful. Surprisingly good oysters too - three varieties on hand, though the bartender unfortunately couldn't speak to flavor or texture profiles. The bourbon list by itself is ~22 pages long. Totally wild. There were something like a dozen varieties of Buffalo Trace if you wanted to go by a specific warehouse or floor, for example. With that said, the price point on whiskies was way higher than a place right across the street. Between that and not having information on the oysters I give it a 4 out of 5.

10 out of five stars! Had the baby back ribs and several adult beverages! I had the black widow and swipe right cocktail, phenomenal! The baby back ribs and macaroni was also phenomenal, would highly suggest this place! So many different types of bourbons and whiskey as well!

Pricey but the food quality is worth it. The only place in town that I was able to find Oyster Rockefeller, and it is excellent. Their choices of Bourbon are vast and their Smoky Old Fashioneds are phenomenal.

Very good. Food and service were awesome. Had a drink from the bar and it was well made. I believe our server was Jade and she was so kind and took good care of us. I ordered the salmon dinner, cooked perfectly, ordered medium. My sister got the blackened catfish dinner and it was quite tasty as well. If you're in Louisville, stop and enjoy!

Amaaaaazing place!!! My twin and I came here for our birthday tonight, both first time goers and when I tell you!!!! this spot did not disappoint!! The oysters came out first- you don’t have to eat them before you know they’re mouthwatering, the way each one glistened tempted me to order more before i started my first plate 😭 I ordered my twin and I a lemon drop martini, she ordered the Salmon dish, mashed potatoes and macaroni and I ordered their Mild smoked wings with bleu cheese and LOADED baked potato: i chose pulled pork as my protein for the baked potato and I can say that ALL of it was absolutely delicious, THE MAC AND CHEESE WAS SPECTACULAR! Our waitress, Satona was so attentive and precise :) our time there we were treated so nicely by everyone there and for our birthday they went the extra step and gave us dessert eek!!! Will be back much earlier next time!!! Thank u 💖

This place was fabulous and we ordered the half a chicken that was deep-fried in a chili sauce. I got the barbecue potato chips and my husband upgraded to the baked beans, and it was all cooked perfect and fabulous! Virginia our waitress, she was absolutely delightful. She made the best old fashions that we have had on our trip. Maybe the bartenders from Wisconsin need to come take lessons, lol. I WOULD RECOMMEND

The food was just ok, nothing to die for. The old fashioned were really good..staff and service was ok. The ribs were fall off the bone However the bbq sauce was below sweet baby ray.. not bad but meh. Oysters Rockefeller was mostly cheese..didnt taste any spinach. It was ok not great

A great place to come and enjoy food, drinks, and conversation. Came on a Thursday evening with no scheduled events downtown and it was still pretty busy. The service didn't suffer from the crowd. The bar and the kitchen got it drinks and food out quickly. Wonderful!

When in Louisville you gotta have Bourbon and this place has LOTS of Bourbon. 49 pages of it to be exact. We came here because it was hyped up to us but I have to say, what we paid was simply because we were tourists. I mean Buffalo Trace at $20 an ounce? Nah....we did elect to have a Bourbon Lemonade mint julep and we didn't regret it at all. The food, however, was delicious. The brisket was mouthwatering and my salad was fresh--no complaints. We came for lunch, and it was nearly empty. Service was impeccable.

1st timer! Yum!!! This place seems as if it’s a small quaint place until you walk down this hallway they have that leads you to the beautiful man or woman cave-like oasis. Very Nice atmosphere! Our server name was Shannon and she was Awesome. She knew the menu and had great recommendations. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer to share which were Phenomenal. I say phenomenal because of the taste but for 3 very small bite size crab cakes for $30 is a little steep. For my entree I ordered the pulled pork tacos as a plate which comes almost like a sandwich which is not at all the sand thing but decent. The pulled pork was a 10/10 but the plate was a 7/10. I had a Caesar salad apart of my plate which was ok and their version of tomatoes. 7/10. Would recommend. Thank you!

An overall good experience. The Old Fashioned was satisfying but seemed a little watered down. The tacos were very good and the pork chops were perfectly fried though as you can see from the photos I only received about a tablespoon of gravy for two entire pork chops which is basically negligible. If you do eat here, be sure to save some room for dessert as the derby pie was the star of the show!

Great food. Very nice oysters. The BBQ food is really good don't get me wrong it's definitely worth a visit. But I have had just as good elsewhere for less money. But that said if you have heard of doc crows and always wanted to go then go it's not disappointing at all. It's worth booking in advance. Although we just turned up we only had to wait 20mins for a table. And you do not need to wait there as they take your number so you can go for a drink in a nearby bar and then they text you when your table is ready. I liked that service we just went over the road for a cold beer.

What a great dining experience and savory time for your pallet! Lively upbeat atmosphere friendly servers and generally expedient service! The oysters on the 1/2 shell were a great appetizer and the homemade pork rinds were a great crowd pleaser! I was definitely pleased with the corn bread underneath my salmon…ever an awesome surprise and treat! Kudos to the chef. This establishment is a great staple for Whiskey Row and the City of Louisviile! If you’re in the area check it out… you won’t regret it and you won’t forget it! Thank me later‼️

Maybe i came on an off night. Either way a hugh waste of $78 on a wednesday. We came into a girl chatty hostess stand. They sat us 2 tables to the right of the stand. No one served us for 13 mins. Odd. Seemed all the boy staff was on electronics or watching the game and the girl staff were on current events. The reviews made this place seem magical but i found it lack luster. So i walked up to the bar to ask for service. Oddly, 2 men walked in and sat at that same booth and were served promptly 30 mins later. Odd. Now the food. The shrimp and oyster hoagie had small miniture shrimp on it and one fried oyster. Its mainly bread. The chips are bland. The sampler came out with the smoked meats cold. The greens are good. The chicken is good but messy, too messy. The mac and cheese very garlicky. The beer selection was good. I asked to replace my chips with fries and it was a $2 up charge. I should have went somewhere else. If you like good service, good food, and solid vibes ...in my opinion this isnt it. No one ever asked how was the food?

They weren't very busy was hard to get the bartenders attention to even get a drink. The drinks were good once we got them . The raw oysters were amazing. Super fresh and delicious. The bourbon mingonette sauce was absolutely phenomenal. Worth going here just for this alone

This place was pretty cool! I believe the bartender said they had over 3000 whiskeys! Our food was so good! We had the fried okra which was as fresh as it could be, a wedge salad and Doc’s Taco’s with brisket and pulled pork - everything was delicious! The atmosphere was lovely and staff was friendly and knowledgable. Don’t miss out on the bar side (to the left when you walk in) where they keep everything, it’s so neat to see!

We walked over to Doc Crow's for dinner. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks full throughout dinner. Our appetizers and dinner were prepped and out to us quickly. I had Shrimp and Grits, and they were fantastic. Their alcohol selection is extensive. However, I did not order any. Highly recommended.

The Blue Pointe Oysters were the best!!!!! Beer cheese is the bomb!!! Between the tasty food, the delicious drinks, and the outstanding service from our waitress (Mallory). Her customer service was above and beyond. In fact, we were so impressed with it all- that we went back and had it again for dinner the very next night! Mallory greeted us when she recognized us at another table. Our server for the second night was Darius. He waa super friendly and very helpful! These experiences made Doc Crow's a now permanent part of our itinerary for any future Louisville trips. These two Texas ladies got.a taste of some quality Kentucky hospitality.

Doc Crow's is always a great experience. I especially recommend the brisket and the bourbon selection that seems to span the entire establishment. No idea why there's a glass of water in my photo. Never touch the stuff; fish f*** in it.

D O C C R O W ‘ S Visited first night in Louisville on whiskey row. This was a spot I wouldn’t necessarily recommend or will visit next time. It wasn’t very well maintained, dirty from walls to floor, and the decor needed to be updated in a way that maintained the tradition of the restaurant. The table wasn’t set for 4 and so we had to ask a couple times for the right number of place settings. 😒 The staff and customer service was ok. Our server made some great recommendations but there weren’t enough whiskey menus, so servers had to ask other tables to borrow menus which was weird. Our server acknowledged the birthday with a free dessert, but they were very busy and she forgot many of our other requests. 🍗 The food was ok. The group I was with raves about the oysters, but the brisket nachos were cold and fatty. I smoke a mean brisket at home, so I was disappointed in the quality. The main courses were the country fried pork chop , ribs and fried chicken sandwich. No issues with the main courses. 🥃 The signature old fashioned was a hit. Everyone enjoyed a couple. The whiskey selection was extensive and while exciting to see some unique pours, 90% unfortunately were way over priced or “secondary and beyond” pricing. While the Lucky 7 barrel pick was very good, a bottle to purchase was ridiculously over priced and left me again disappointed I could bring home a nice souvenir of the trip. We had better luck across the street. Overall, an experience I don’t need again for future trips. I will have other places from the bourbon trail experience that are worth dining at every time. 👀 Check out my IG for more 🥃 news, insight, pairings and other fun related content. ✅ if this was helpful, please 👍🏼, and follow me here and on yelp for more reviews

The first visit was amazing, had shrimp and cheese grits I highly recommend. Second night I had the short rib, disappointed on the amount of meat on the bone, the membrane was still on and not eatable, it lacked flavor.

After a long 10 hour drive, a nice dinner was much needed. Stopped by Doc Crow's in Kentucky. The atmosphere was relaxing. The staff was very friendly. The smokehouse club sandwich was just want I wanted. My only complaint with the sandwich was that I ordered it with the house chips and received fries. The fries were crisp and hot, but not what I wanted with my sandwich so I did not eat them. For dessert I opted for the chocolate chip cookies. Not at all what I expected and I LOVE chocolate chip cookies. If you have ever eaten C-rations, the cookies tasted like they just popped out of the can. Not my favorite. Disappointing.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is the best BBQ place I've ever been to. Their meats are good quality and their sauce is fantastic. Their staff is very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is spot on! I am willing to drive 2.5 hours just to eat there! They are almost always busy but it never feels super crowded or uncomfortable.

Visited for a friend's birthday dinner celebration. Great location, nice restaurant, fun drinks, great beer selection and wonderful bourbon options. Get the oysters, they were amazing. We ended up buying 2 batches because we liked them so much. Our waitress was amazing, we are unsure if they usually do birthday cake celebrations but our waitress made sure our friend felt very special!

Been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is absolutely amazing and you get good portions. For the amount of food you get, the price is just right. Service is always outstanding. One of my new favorite spots.

A nice place in the downtown area. Great cocktail (angel), sweet, spicy, sour and bitter. Wonderful and special shrimp grits, warm, and cozy, with huge shrimp Super big beef rib, satisfying eating experience, meat was very tender with great smoke taste, fat and lean meat are mixed together, serve with fried onion and smash potato Texas chili was great too with a small but tasty cornbread Derby pie is also good, creamy and crispy Southern specialities are around $25, not too cheap but worth trying

Great bar! Great happy hour old fashions, $4.00 - Service was great as well! Stopped in for a drink or two after touring the distillery next-door. Oysters were fresh, meaty and delicious. Highly recommend this establishment!
