Surprisingly good little restaurant on 3rd street in front of the Gault House. Not just a bar but a great little eatery. Had the Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich and the Brisket Chili. The salsa is outstanding and fresh. 1st time there.

Most awesome hidden bar. Staff was beyond friendly and amazing. The bar food was all massive amounts of food for the $$$, and the bourbon selection is crazy. The unicorn bottles are much cheaper here to try than other places around as well. Flights are good priced and the flight designs are pretty unique as well. Overall a definite place to try on your trip to Nashville.

Awesome place. We walked in with 10 and they took great care of us. The appetizers were good and the entrees were great. Our waitress, Delrusy was freaking amazing, she rocked it as she was right on top of everything! Hats off to the bartender as the smoked old fashions were flowing!

Very great place, an awesome patio that will keep you cool and protected from the elements. Food was great and my buddy bought a $300 shot!!! :O

So my rating is based on a quick food pickup visit. This establishment has a relaxed and welcoming ambience. I had the tacos which were filling and amazing. I think they would go great with alcohol. The staff is friendly and efficient. Definite recommendation for a gathering, cocktail date or just lunch or dinner.

Second time visiting Louisville and couldn't miss visiting Down One again. Both times we came with our teenage girls and everyone loved it. The "underground patio" vibe is so fun, yet quiet since you're below the traffic noise. We had live music for part of our meal, which was a fun surprise. We had good service, and delicious tacos and drinks - loved it all! Our only slight complaint was all the tables that had been used and dirty dishes left for our entire visit. (I'm sure this is probably related to staffing?)

Tacos and bourbon, how can you go wrong? Great selection of individual tacos (El Jeffe is pictured) how many can you eat vs how many you’d like to try? Great list of bourbon including some that are hard to find. This will be a regular stop when in Louisville.

Love this place! Being in Kentucky, I asked for an Old Fashioned that I could write home about. The barkeep, Dustin made me a delicious drink with Angels Envy Rye. I didn't just write home about it, I wrote to everyone about it, it was fantastic! Just look at the whiskey lineup on my photos below! The place was super packed, I definitely know why. All three guys behind the bar were running at 110% speed and keeping everyone satisfied. For food I ordered the El Jefe on a Bolilo roll and it was tremendous. The only real drawback is parking (paid and can be a walk) but still well worth it. I will certainly be back, there are many more drinks I want to try!

The smoked brisket chil was delicious! The Blugrass Rose was very tasty as well. I also had the Drunk Yardbird. It was a little too salty for my taste, so I wasn't very pleased with it. I did order the Fried Ice cream, which made up for the taco. 😋

My husband and I serendipitously stumbled upon this place during a quick trip to Kentucky. Our bartender Drew was fabulous. We intended to have one Old Fashioned. We were skeptical about a pre-made version on tap, but it was well-balanced and expertly mixed. We chatted with Drew and discussed our love of Bourbon. He recommended the Pick Your Bourbon flight. It was curated to our taste and another fabulous experience! Finally, we shared we wanted to hit one more place before turning in. Louisville on a chilly Wednesday evening closes early so he recommended one last stop. Drew is attentive, thoughtful and listens. I recommend seeking him out if you stop by Down One Bourbon Bar. He also let us know we can purchase bottles of bourbon on site! His manager Jason was also attentive and helpful. We definitely recommend stopping by for fabulous drinks and wonderful conversation!

Great bar with kind of a hidden atmosphere. Food and drinks were excellent, our bartender was a little odd but friendly.

Had to give a shout out to Dustin for the seriously great experience at Down One!! He was our bartender and really took his time explaining things to us and making sure that we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Most personable bartender EVER. Also his dinner recommendations were awesome - the food was one of our favorites in town actually, which we weren't expecting for a last-minute choice on our end! Loved all the options. Thanks for a great time!

Very disappointed. Co worker & ordered the exact same thing. Borracho beans. They got a bowl I somehow got a cup. Their bowl was full to the brim and chucky. My cup was half full and mostly soup. What I got tasted good just wish portions were quality tested and that their service was a lot better.

As nice as the atmosphere was in this restaurant, the food options were not at all what I was expecting. One soft taco(all they really serve) was almost 10 bucks. The server was very attentive and accommodating. If you are going just to drink this is a nice place for you. The food was good, however was not worth the money and that's just my opinion. Edit: I asked the server were all the dishes tacos and he said yes. I was never offered a bowl option.

Pretty abismal experience. There were about a dozen folks total in the place on a Friday w. That should have been my first clue. My buddy and I ordered a flight to do a tasting together. We both had completely different glasses served to us for the exact same flight. Not only that, the server had no idea what order the bourbon was in. He toad me just to read the menu to see the order. It was completely wrong as served. Then check out the clean glasses! Disgusting The cheese curds were good but that’s it. Won’t be back and don’t recommend.

Something changed about this place looking at past reviews. Stay home and eat a hot pocket for a better experience. Worst restaurant I ever visited. Chips seemed out of a bag and queso from a jar at the dollar store. Servers were trying but obviously not trained. Two things we ordered were not available. But we had to wait about 10 minutes to find out each time. If you have to come here, get the fries. They were good. Side note: my wife asked for a local beer and they recommended Bud Lite. The bar looked cool. Good selection of bourbons. Get a drink and some fries there if you want to visit this place.

The best place to try bourbon! Such a nice place inside and out! Thank you to the sweetest bartender Stephanie for making our Louisville experience even more enjoyable!

Very good taco. Great bourbon selection, pricing is so-so. High on the ones you'd expect to be high but at least they give 2 ounce pours.

Finally reopened after 2 years!!! In town from Toronto, and stumbled upon this spot, on their first day opened after 2 year break, and it was on point, cocktails were great, nachos were so freaking good, tacos were delicious, and staff were great, friendly and I think really happy to finally see the doors open Rishabh was our server and was friendly, helpful, he really took care of us And thank you to Jason the GM, we didn’t make it back this visit but we will be back Most important everyone head in, grab a cocktail or 10, it’s great to see this place open!!!

In Louisville for a NAWBO conference from San Antonio. Great food and service from Rung and Jason, the GM. A must try- favorite charro corn and El Jeffe!

Nice selection with lots of room. Beer is also an option for those who are trying to tag along with a whiskey drinker. They have whiskey flights for fairly good prices. The staff is knowledgable and fun, can give you all kinds of recommendations as well as hand picked flights

If you love your bourbon, come to Down One. A convenient bar right downtown near Louisville's entertainment venues. It's has a wonderful energy and unending selection of spirits. The bartenders know what they're doing and serve up some perfect crafted cocktails.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere, & reasonable prices. There's something for everyone here (although a limited vegetarian menu). The bourbon ball truffles are a dessert you shouldn't miss.

Down One is an amazing place! Not only do they have an excellent selection of bourbons, whiskeys, and scotches, but the staff is amazingly friendly and able to offer some great suggestions to help you find what you want. The menu is small, making it easy to find something great to eat that will go well with your drinks. Try the pork belly and you'll never want to leave!

One of my favorite bars in Louisville. All the bartenders were wonderful, made good conversation and really seemed to enjoy what they do. Drinks were delicious and strong!

Stopped by after a U of L game for some drinks and food. Everyone was friendly inside, but I enjoyed the happy hour menu the most. Be sure to ask for it! I loved the $6 old fashioned on tap. They have a lot of bourbon as well as rare ones labeled behind the bar.
