Please save yourself the TIME, the MONEY and the gas driving to this restaurant. I wanted to try it out because it had 4.5 stars but if I could give 0 stars, I would. The food was cold and maybe if you’re lucky, room temperature. The food did not look appetizing at all, (attached photos) and it tasted even worse. I ordered a veggie sandwich, fries, tomato soup and french toast. My friend ordered an egg sandwich and potatoes. EVERY THING was cold and half the food was unseasoned. The French toast was soggy and seemed like it was undercooked. The waiter never stopped by to ask how the food was, but maybe because he knew how trash the food actually is. There were so many people here so you’d think it would be good…. But don’t be fooled. Huge disappointment. If Gordon Ramsay ate here he would literally tear this place apart 😂 This restaurant deserves to be on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. I left feeling like that was the worst $38 I have ever spent, and wish I didn’t have to pay at all. I could’ve put the $38 towards my gas tank, $38 on buying bread to feed some ducks, $38 at MCDONALDS or taco bell for christ sake and that is DEFINITELY what I will do next time before ever considering to come here again. Please listen to my warning, this is a restaurant you should SKIP trying. The food is not good, poor service. I would not recommend this restaurant, and will never go back. You have been warned folks!

My son just moved to Louisville and I stopped in to check out his new place. In doing so he wanted to try someplace new and suggested giving The Cafe a try. When we arrived where the restaurant is located it was already a cool setting overall. The restaurant also has a Stoneware retail store attached to it. We had about 15m to wait and we spent it on this store. Once we got seated near the Bar we ordered the food. Much of the menu is what would typically be simple foods that are made much more unique and with different flavors than typical. Within our group (son, daughter, future daughter in law, myself) we ordered the Cubano, Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Salad sandwich and topped it off with Sweet Potato sweet rolls. Everything was fantastic. If you're looking for a great place to get a great sandwich this would be someplace I would try.

Good service, extensive menu, great building, efficient waitstaff. One of the biggest surprises was the desserts. Not only are the cake slices gigantic, but they are heavenly tasting. Parking can be a premium so going early (pre-noon) or later (1p on) would probably have more available parking. My only precaution is for deli sandwich fans: these are not NYC Broadway Deli-style overloaded with meat sandwiches. If you're looking for something like that, your best bet would be Stevens & Stevens.

Great place for a quick bite. The food was delicious. The roasted veggie sandwich was awesome. The chicken salad sandwich was huge. The service was excellent and the place is very clean.

Very good brunch and lunch spot. Stoppedin on a Monday for brunch and everyone in our group really liked their meal. I had the BLT with fries, it was excellent. They also have a good variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Great indoor and outdoor space and a friendly staff to top it off.

Delicious food!!! I really love the cheese beignets. I also enjoyed the salmon! The one thing I think I could complain about but isn't really a big deal was that the music was messed up. It would play one song, turn off for 5 minutes only to play the same song again. I think that can be fixed though, everything else spot on!!

Definitely a great visit with an amazing menu which we had brunch and the food portions are enough to share, great flavors and reasonable prices. I’d recommend this place for any type of meal including vegan dishes

Such a nice cozy spot. Definitely an "out of town" feel right here in Louisville. Great service, flavorful food. We went for breakfast, but it's also a date worthy spot. Beautiful decorations and feel. Thanks Jessica for your wonderful service!

I have gone to the café twice in the last month and had the same server. The first time I was with several friends. One person ordered the hamburger and questioned whether it could be cooked very well done. It was even stated it needed to be thin and very well done. When the burger arrived, it was viewed as not well done, with juices running down the sides when cut open. The server was asked to have it cooked more. Unfortunately, the server commented in a sarcastic way that it WAS well done. My friend, then decided to keep the burger, not eat it, and it ruined the meal for all of us. My second visit, we had the same server. I ordered their BLT. The server did not return until we had basically finished and asked if we needed anything else I asked for a box for my BLT because the bacon was obviously cold, not cooked well, very fatty. I would take it home and re-heat the bacon. He did not listen. Talked over the end of my sentence. Brought us a box and wished us a good day . This is the last time I will go there. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

Nice place to visit in Paristown while you're checking out other activities in the area. The food looks great and tastes good overall; some things are over seasoned and some under seasoned. They'd probably be better with a smaller menu and everything under $20. Their standard sandwiches, entrees, and desserts are well done but some have an extra unnecessary ingredient. Our waitress was overwhelmed, but it worked out because we were planning to take our time. Highly recommended from neighborhood friends.

With breakfast, I got the option of “bacon” or “crispy bacon”. I picked bacon, and God help the crispy bacon folks, because mine was burnt. I also got a fruit cup, and that was just the cherry on top of the bland/burnt meal. I didn’t realize you’re allowed to serve customers moldy fruit. The picture shows the mold growing on the grape. Not to mention, it was the smallest fruit cup I’ve ever seen - it came in a sauce container. If you want moldy, unseasoned, burnt food, eat here. If not, don’t waste the money. Servers were nice though!

My husband and I absolutely love this place! We come here for brunch all the time and always order the huevos rancheros and the biscuits and gravy. Both dishes are delicious but the biscuits and gravy are to die for! Decent portions and decent prices! The atmosphere is casual and the staff has always been very friendly. We highly recommend!

OMG!!! From the service to the food, everything was AMAZING. I don't ever want to be served again if I can't be served by Hildy. She gives the type of service I expect everywhere I go but never receive. The mimosas are strong! I had a few sips and accidentally knocked over my cup and Hildy made sure to get me another glass! She was also knowledgeable of the menu. Our food came out fast and hot and everything was delicious and fresh!! We will be back again and again. That's a promise.

My soul sister was in from Texas, and we came to one of my favorite restaurants for brunch! It did not disappoint! The food was super yummy as always! The best part of our dining experience was our server, Harry! He did not miss a beat… He was ahead of the game on absolutely everything! At the end, he brought us a piece of red velvet cake and told my friend welcome home baby! She use to live here! Red velvet cake is my favorite and he did not know that! Harry said that he saw our friendship and needed to send us a blessing! Harry is one of the best servers I have ever had.. he made the whole dining experience, very special and amazing!

I tried this out as my first stop in Kentucky and man was it a great choice! The restaurant looked to have good sandwiches and the reviews were great as well. This is all I needed to make my choice and I headed here straight from the airport. The building was huge and featured two parts. A big open area and then a smaller, close knit dining area. There weren’t too many people here at 8 o’clock when I arrived, which made it seem that much cooler. It took a while to get served but once I did it went pretty quickly. I got the King Charles, which is their open face tuna melt and I added the Homemade Benedictine which is a cucumber / cream cheese mixed spread that is really popular in the city. The server hinted that this was an odd combo but I’d say taste wise it was one of the best sandwiches I ever had. It was paired with the smashed potatoes which were also delicious. The entire meal came out to $12.75 + tax/tip so certainly a great priced dinner for the experience. I would highly recommend this place!

The food and service were great. The area we were seated in is bright and spacious. Food came quickly. The strata and biscuits and gravy were excellent. The breakfast potatoes were alright but a little on the dry/underseasoned side. Our server was fast, friendly, and checked in plenty while still giving us space for our conversation. And prices were very reasonable! We'll definitely be coming back.

Great service and delicious food with plenty of seating for large groups. Our group of 4 stopped in for breakfast in September 2022. We were seated quickly and asked for a few recommendations which our server happily provided. Some of the breakfast entrees are large enough for sharing, so keep that in mind. Definitely worth a visit. Try the French Toast!

Party of four during the street fair. Nice experience. Our server was busy and efficient with a crowd during lunch time. Everyone had the number three which was a half sandwich soup, side, and a cookie. We had among the Rubinio and the Edwardian. Both were good. We had a combination of soups, pot pie and tomato. Special note: the pot pie soup was wonderful, full of veggies, and had full flavor. The only issue I had with the sides.

Ok, we caught lightning in a bottle on the day we visited, as there was a street fair going on to remember 9/11. We sat outside and listened to music and people-watched. Our food was good, and the only complaint might be the service, but our waiter was relatively new. This is a really interesting spot, in a very interesting part of town.

The Louisville hot brown was great! The fried green tomatoes and calamari were excellent starters but that hot brown. Delicious. The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing also. Great food and experience for my first time there. When I’m back in the area, I definitely need to go back.

The food, atmosphere, and staff were fabulous! Large portions. The large biscuits were a little bit dry even with the gravy, but it wasn't a big enough issue to bring down the 5 star rating because everything else made up for it. Thw waitress who had just moved here from Florida was fantastic...welcome to Kentucky! I really loked the biscuits and gravy coming in a bowl, with a layer of sausage on the bottom, followed by open biscuit smothered in gravy, and another large biscuit cut open and placed on top for a beautiful looking dish. The wife even had to take home their famous tomato dill soup we forgot to get a picture of. I highly recommend this place.

I went for the first time with my sister and girlfriend for my birthday. Service, food & drinks was good especially for the price. I ordered the "Stephen Foster" for breakfast & would go back to try the lunch menu.

This place is a hidden gem in Louisville. It was sooooooo goooooood. I enjoyed the view. They have outdoor seating, indoor seating with a nice outdoor view and breeze and then more private seating. My breakfast was delicious. I had croissant egg sandwich with cheese grits and potatoes. The Belgian waffle was fluffy and delicious as well. Please continue you great food and service. Our waitress Misty was lovely

Diner food in a trendy space. Safe breakfast and brunch options for a hearty meal. The ham in the Stephen Foster dish was very salty (first picture). Grapefruit fresh is yummy!

We had a wonderful experience here for brunch. From the moment we sat down, our waitress was very attentive with bringing us drinks. It was my mother's birthday & one of the guys working there came to our table to compliment us and wished my mom a happy birthday. It was very nice & he offered her a piece of cake to take home. The Italian Cream Cheese cake was SO GOOD too! Seemed like a friendly, nice environment. We will be back for sure.

Great place for a sandwich. I’m always looking for good reubens, and this place had a solid version. The chicken salad was also pretty tasty. The space is nice and the ambiance very laid back. The desserts looked great, so I’ll have to come back to give them a try.

Great spot for a quick lunch, good energy and vibes. Stephanie H was great and suggested a great sandwich, French Provincial. Also the fries are simple but solid! Definitely check this spot out

The presentation of the food was excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and the mimosa was delicious. I was actually surprised by the prices because the place feels so upscale once you go inside. Oh and by the way there is a gift shop that your friends and family will love. So definitely check that out before you leave the place

First timer. Decided to go on a whim with family. I had the Huevos Rancheros w/scrambled eggs and small fresh squeezed OJ. Nice atmosphere. Monday at 10:30a was a good time to go. No crowd. I would have given 5 stars but the dish I ordered came with tortilla chips. The server brought the dish out without them. When I questioned, she stated that they did not have chips available. I really wished that this information would have been shared before bringing out the meal as I probably would have picked something else based on that info. The meal was delicious. Guacamole was to die for! I do like the fact that the entire menu is served all day. Lots of choices! My family was satisfied with their choices and all agreed that we'd return.

I don't know why I don't come here more often, the food here is delicious! The serve Breakfast all day and huge slices of cake and bread pudding for dessert what's not to love about that!! This time we tried the Hot Brown Tots appetizer, it's huge and a great twist on a true Kentucky classic. Service has been great both times I visited. I will definitely be back for more of the French toast baguettes!

This place is awesome!!! My sister's and I came here for brunch. Food was amazing, and our hibiscus drink (called morning glory) was on point!!! Yes they add alcohol! Our server Carrie was amazing. Will be requesting her on my next visit. (I forgot the name of my main meal. But I also ordered grits and cheese.)

Not going to lie, this place was a bit overrated. I first checked in, there was a solid amount of tables but had to wait to make sure none of the reservations came. Finally after 15 minutes I was able to be seated. Kinda took another 10 minutes to check in with me for my order too. I ordered a Hot Brown and a shot of Double Oak Barrel Woodford Reserve. The Hot Brown portion was a bit smaller than most restaurants. It was still good taste wise, the sauce was money. Overall it's a cool vibe but it just seemed to chaotic to really enjoy.
