The place is on a lower ground level, so it feels like suffocating. There were at least 6/7 flies flying around my table, that was so annoying. The onion soup was literally some brod with sliced onions inside and bread, it wasn't creamy and definitely not gratineted, such a disappointment. Main course was nothing special. The service was nice and the ladies were welcoming and kind. Shame for the food, really! I spent 43€ including tips and the best part of the dinner was the kir royal and the sparkling water.

Fine food or a good quality but a bit ordinary. Extremely cheap food and drinks. Good service. Atmosphere might be better.

Highly recommend a reservation as the restaurant is extremely busy. Overall an enjoyable experience with one of the best priced menus for traditional lyonnais food. As we went on a Sunday, the restaurant was busier than usual. The waiters were still attentive and the food was delicious.

This restaurant came recommended by our local guide for traditional Lyonnaise cuisine. The main dining area is in the basement cellar and was quite packed at lunch time. We managed to get a table by walking in. The food was really mediocre - French onion soup is light and lacking depth of flavour while the chicken was quite oily although tasty. My favourite was the sautéed carrots on the side. Nothing else worth mentioning as it felt quite touristy. Food : ⭐️⭐️ Value : ⭐️ Service : ⭐️⭐️ Ambiance : ⭐️⭐️

We were looking for traditional Lyon food and ended up here. The food was homely (as the name of the restaurant suggests), tasty but nothing special, just the kind of place that caters to tourists. Super cold AC which was uncomfortable.

Came for dinner with a last minute reservation. Got a set menu option. Got the onion soup, the quenelle, and a praline tart. The soup and quenelle were great, heavy but delicious. The praline tart was so sweet it was hard to eat but I think that's just how they are, not a note about this restaurant in particular. Service was great and I got a glass of white wine that was tasty too.

Traditional bouchon lyonnais, traditional cuisine lyonnais: simple and delicious. Reservation needed, a specially during high tourist season. Of course, I would like to taste everything from the menu, but this is physically not possible, portions huge. If you never tasted cuisine lyonnais before, be ready for very good surprise.

A very cute typical Lyon restaurant with a great starter/main/desert menu which was good value for money. A nice setting, efficient service and right in the center of the old Lyon neighborhood.

Did not expect much as place looked touristic, however been surprised in good. Simple local food, good choice, very good and quick stuff. Overall was happy with our dinner.

Delicious menu and lovely staff. We went at 19:15 and it was relatively quiet... 15min later it was full! Be sure to make a reservation. We love the area downstairs at the back - it was a nice surprise to find the 'cave like' dining area.

We made reservations but came a little early as we were so hungry and they were happy to seat us early. The service was friendly, they even had a menu in English as well. My husband had the soupe a l’oignon, it was tasty enough but not great. I had the mushroom raviolis with a green salad, my husband had Paleron au boeuf, beef with mushroom sauce. Both the plates were delicious, the sauce!! It’s a homey restaurant with a simple but delicious menu. Would definitely come here again.

A beautiful Bouchon to eat at. If it's a hot day, ask to be seated downstairs where it is air condtioned and absolutely stunning! It is like a cave or cellar, so cool and such a lovely place to be seated. The food served is typical for Lyon and was so tasty. The service was fast and the waiter was very nice and spoke English when he could. They have French and translated English menus. Today we tried their poached egg in red vinegar/wine, the chicken done in the frogs legs way (garlic, butter, parsley and flour), French onion soup, fois gros, canelle in lobster sauce, steak with mushroom sauce. These are typical Bouchon Lyon foods and all were absolutely tasty and delicious! 4 adults cost us around 90€. clean toilets are located at the entrance.

We had a nice dinner here, for a reasonable price :) would recommend Lots of Lyon specialties, and regional wine. The restaurant is downstairs in an old cellar, such a beautiful location to eat!

Super traditional restaurant, very interesting location, in the basement of an old building in the old center of lyon. Nice experience, onion soup was very delicious and also the duck legs, but the andouillette was terrible-that one i do not recommend trying, at least not for the nonlovers of pork meat parts that we don’t usually eat… All in all was a great experience if you want to try something very local and traditional. Reservations obligatory, don’t even try without a reservation.
