We
left
Sheffield
(UK)
at
8.30am
this
morning
(Saturday)
and
got
to
Lyon
about
12
hours
later.
We
had
found
Hopper
in
TripAdvisor
and
it
was
just
what
we
needed,
even
if
the
draught
beers,
many
of
them
British,
and
the
use
of
pint
glasses
was
a
bit
disconcerting
at
first
-
we
had
been
expecting
a
'demi'
of
Kronenbourg!
A
sweetie
of
a
bouncer
let
us
in,
impressed
by
our
NHS
triple
vacc.
pass
even
though
it
didn't
scan
properly
and
also,
perhaps,
by
our
longevity,
which
increased
Hopper's
average
age
by
a
few
decades!
We
had
a
medium
platter
to
share
made
up
of
charcuterie,
salad
and
cheeses
-
simple,
but
good
quality,
nicely
put
together,
tasty
and
more
than
enough
for
two
travel-weary
people
looking
for
a
late
night
snack!
To
wash
it
down,
we
had
three
pints
of
Copère
-
a
darker,
Belgium
lager,
5%,
but
slightly
sparkly
and
extremely
refreshing.
We
loved
the
atmosphere
in
Hopper,
bustling
and
lively
without
being
too
loud;
pleasantly
subdued
lighting,
and
a
good
de-furb
job
with
copper
pipes
to
give
it
that
convincing
brewery
look.
Best
of
all,
the
service
was
friendly,
attentive
and
prompt!
I'm
sure
we'll
be
back!
