Pretty sure I’ve died and gone to Heaven. This was superb…excellent service. Unbelievably good food. Reservations a must.

One of those rare occasions when you want to give a restaurant more than 5 stars. This is an incredible restaurant. The food, wine and service were impeccable. Undoubtedly French and one of the 46 Bouchons de Lyon, our meal was a highlight of our 40+ years dining out. A lovely surprise of a creamy garlic cheese spread and some toast before our starters was lovely. Then starters of Foie Gras Terrine and Parsons Omelette with Crayfish Tails. Both were simple yet stunning. Main courses were Calves Liver and Holstein Fillet Steak flambéed in Cognac. Sides of pasta gratin and sliced and fried potatoes were perfect. Then a 1/2 of a creamy and runny St Marcelin that was creamy and unctuous and powerful. Desserts were Tart Tatin with Pink Praline and a trio of sorbets. All delicious. The servers were attentive and we were never rushed between courses. Highly recommend. There cannot be many restaurants in Lyon serving traditional Lyonnaise food better than this.

Excellent service and fantastic food! What made the experience exceptional was not only was the food great but the service by the wait staff was superb. Very attentive, took the time to review the dishes and offer suggestion and provide feedback. We ordered the mushroom and liver pate as starter, and had the beef ribs, vegetarian pasta as entre. The dessert was the praline souffle. Highly recommend !!

Extremely delicious duck and fantastic zucchini cold soup. Quite pricey for the meal (even though it was delicious) the space was a bit smaller, was seated at the back end of the restaurant where waiters were constant walking around us to get into the kitchen from the bar. That table needs to be taken out as it was constantly a dodging game.

Very popular traditional dining , must book in advance as many walk-ins turned away even for a Wednesday night. Interior decor is covered with awards showcasing the kitchen's skills. Accompanied by an interior that has been well-branded. A few tables might be a tight but service is good and it is obvious that front of house team has been well trained. Hearty heavy food with waiters explaining everything on the menu and suggesting what wine would go well with your meal

Visited back in July. One of the best food experiences we've ever had! Highly recommended! Duck breast, Holstein beef strips and Crème Brûlée were divine!

Wow. All of the dishes we tried here were phenomenal and as I'm writing this review just hours later, my mouth is still watering 🤤 I tried a variety of dishes from the famous foie gras pate, les oeufs, the braised beef shoulder, followed with a lovely creme brulee. If you're not a fan of pate, you may want to skip the foie gras pate even though it's highly acclaimed - for me it was the one thing I wasn't over the moon about (personal preference). Everything else was delicious and possibly the best french cuisine I've had on my trip. Worth a visit - especially given the warm hospitality from the staff and reasonable prices.

Who on earth rates this place better than two stars? This is in name only. The service is uncouth, the Bresse chicken tough and flavorless, dark bread to dip into Nantua sauce (really?), the paté en croute cold and stale. Asking for vegatables resulted in an order of vegetable pasta. After eating at Le Sud on Sunday and Cazenove last night this was a serious dip into the land of mediocrity.

This was hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in all of Europe. Everything was perfection - the textures, flavours, seasoning - 10/10. I had the beef which was falling apart and melt in the mouth. Best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. It’s all classic French/Lyonnaise dishes. Book in advance as it’s very popular (for good reason!) The waiters are all attentive and give good recommendations. Would go back here in a heartbeat!

It was very good, but for the money, it didn't knock my socks off. They seem to have a lot of great dishes, and as is usually the case, maybe I didn't order exactly the right thing. Lamb sweetbread salad and a chicken breast with a few small morel mushrooms.

Amazing meal and service with a nice wine list to accompany whichever dish you order. Fortunately we had a reservation well in advance because quite a few we turned away after we sat down. I enjoyed the steak, my wife enjoyed the chicken, all sides were served family style and were very flavorful. We shared the Baba la Rhume dessert, simply incredible.

I firmly believe either this is an overrated restaurant or I picked the worst dishes on the menu. I tried a salad with potatoes and sweetbread. It was okay and we'll balanced. After that we tried two main courses, a chicken with cream and mushrooms. I think this was the best thing among the others. The other main dish was a mixture of giblets wrapped with rabbit meat. The texture was bland and taste was limited and the gravy was quite heavy and didn't go well with the meat. Cheese platter was okay, especially the Comte therefore I rated this restaurant with 3 stars rather than 2.

I wish I had really studied the typical Lyonnaise-style food moreso beforehand. It was delicious but relatively simple. The fixed price menu gives some variety and between my partner and me, we tried almost everything. I was initially underwhelmed but once I focused on the intention of the style, I appreciated it more.

I was very curious to try a Michelin Star restaurant in Lyon, after a lot of research I decided that Daniel and Denise would be the best. Couldn’t choose better! The food it was delicious, the service amazing and a great atmosphere! I recommend everyone that visits Lyon to try Daniel & Denise!

We were a little late, but called and informed. When we arrived the table wasn't ready, but we had a glass of wine outside while waiting. The interior in rustic and cosy, and gives a relaxed feel. Two of us chose the three course meal for 41 €, while me and another split an foie gras terrine and the lamb shoulder, which was amazing! On the side were flat potato chips and pasta/mac n'cheese thing which was very good. Personally i prefer more veggies on the side. I would definitely recommend, and will be going back if I come back to Lyon!

Lives up to its reputation of being so highly rated. Honest, unpretentious good food. The service was brilliant as well - very friendly wait staff who took the time to explain the (French) menu to us (English speaking folk) Absolutely loved our food when we came to visit! We will be back when we are next in this part of the world.

Worth the hype! Great service and the food... honestly, you forget how good it is between bites and then you take another forkful and it comes right back... Try the quenelle and soup, stay for dessert and enjoy the best creme brulee of your entire life!

Great local food. Dress code was less formal than I expected (which is a good thing). Affordable and very tasty.

Excellent food, simple but traditional lyonnese style. They are making it very clear they have been mentioned in Michelin guide, with all the stickers on the door, Michelin guide books from several decades on the shelfs etc. But the food was really good, they have a great package.
