I've
lived
in
Lyon
for
years
and
yet
this
is
the
first
time
I
went
to
the
Carpe
Diem
restaurant.
How
could
I
have
missed
this
institution,
located
in
the
6th
arrondissement???
In
summary,
the
95-year-old
chef
and
his
son
will
take
care
of
you
with
their
bourgeois
and
canaille
Lyonnaise
cuisine:
veal
liver,
veal
sweetbreads
in
yellow
wine
to
order,
foie
gras,
andouillette,
a
short
menu
but
so
much
the
better.
For
my
part,
I
chose
the
veal
head
with
gribiche
sauce
(the
best
in
Lyon
apparently)
and
I
was
not
disappointed.
The
cooking
was
perfect,
the
vegetables
and
the
gribiche
delicious.
The
plate
was
very
generous.
I
confirm
that
it
is
one
of
the
best
veal
heads
I
have
eaten.
For
dessert
I
went
for
the
imperial
mandarin
pancakes,
not
bad
at
all
too.
The
rum
baba
was
also
very
good.
Next
time
I
will
choose
the
frozen
Vacherin,
a
specialty
of
the
house
and
which
seemed
enormous
to
me!!
A
beautiful
address
to
discover
and
what's
more,
you
will
have
the
smile
and
kindness
of
the
restaurateur's
wife,
who
takes
care
of
the
room.
Yum
yum!!
