The best: the crepes. Sweet or salty, both are great. They have a small little stand where you can see how the crepes are done. The place has tables inside and outside. They have menú prices from 14€ (2 dishes, enough) to 19€ (3 dishes, this can be even shared). Also, the wine was good and not so expensive, 10€ half a liter. The service is a bit slow but good, we asked for bread but never arrived so maybe they tend to forget a bit when it is crowded.

It was a great experience!! We were there off peak hours (we saw the place full earlier) and this may have added to the experience… we were welcomed with a large smile and fond friendliness by a couple of young girls which started it all off well! the place is cozy and very traditional: nice ambiance that shows a piece of real old Lyon. And the food was great too: loved the very traditional menu and the lyonnaise specialties were indeed what we went for: the salad and the sausage were delicious!! The bill was good too for being so central! Really must go! The place seems to also be known for its crepes (long queue to get those on the street) but frankly that was the less interesting part of our meal 🤷🏼‍♂️

The most tytpical restaurant in Lyon. Be aware that there are no reservations and lots of people go early to have a table to the meal. It worth waiting.

My host advised us to avoid restaurants on Rue St. Jean as they were tourist traps, expensive with questionable quality. We were in the area at lunch time so with that warning, we were pleasantly surprised how good Le Petite Glouton was. We had a 3 course meal for 16.90 € that came with a variety of options. I chose the french onion soup, quenelle de brochet and blueberry crepe, which were all pretty good, hot, flavorful with generous portions. I was full and satisfied. Service was very good - we must have gotten 6 bottles of tap water (in addition to our beer - it was 34 C). Overall, a pleasant experience.

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! I had the filet mignon it came with potatoes au gratin a brûlée tomato and lettuce with dressing. The sauce the filet mignon was sitting in was superb 🥰. The crepe guy was rude and not very friendly when he was trying to seat us. Other than that our server was wonderful and spoke English and helped us go over the menu. I highly recommend the onion soup, tasted nothing like an onion soup from the states. It was flavorful! What a wonderful meal.

The restaurant had a really nice ambiance with stained glass facing the main entrance. The waiters were nice, the andouille was incredible. Most importantly, their water was kept in the fridge (super refreshing)

We had been visiting the troumboles in November and saw the complet sign up on our first choice but found this delightful treasure as we strolled down rue Saint Jean. The maitre de was charming and thankfully spoke English, which really saved us trying to figure on the menu. I had the Salade de Foie de Volaille which was one of the best salads I had tried during my time in France. My partner had the Salade Lyonnaise and was not disappointed. Although, he did think I had the better meal, with so many livers on my plate, I as able to share a few with him. We preferred tea in the middle of day, which was just delightful. But the wine selection seemed pretty good. With fresh crepes being prepared in ftont of the restaurant, it was impossible to resist a sweet crepe. And the choix de crêpe was devine. It truly was a lovely experience and being able to see the troumboles through a glass windows at the back of the restaurant added to the experience. I highly recommend you add this restaurant to your must do list.

Very nice place in city centre, great meals and friendly employees. They also offer combo choices (17€ with a salad+meal+dessert of your choice) and free water with reusable bottles, which reduces plastic. The only problem where that they don’t have a good English menu so one of our salads weren’t what we read 😅 But everything was tasty, fresh and featured with plenty of French bread.

I came here two nights in a row for dinner because I enjoyed it so much the first night! It’s located in the heart of Old Town and is run by a very nice crew. There are two rooms and also outdoor seating. They have a very reasonably priced three course meal (I can’t remember how much exactly but it wasn’t more than like 18€) menu for dinner where you can choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I got to try some Lyonnaise cuisine here, like a fish soufflé and tomato marinated tripe. And for dessert you can choose between fromage and a crepe. I really wanted to try the fromage but was always too full to eat something savory by the time I finished my entree. I ate alone both nights and really liked the atmosphere; mostly couples, parents and adult kids, and friends/small friend groups (all ages). It’s a cozy local restaurant that seemed relatively popular during the weekdays and I like it because of its quiet location, food, cozy interior, and friendly staff who helped me understand the menu (not a French speaker). I also appreciate the waiter who kept my cherry tomatoes for me and made small talk when I returned to fetch it :))

Very friendly staff. The restaurant has a crêpe station just outside, which attracts all kinds of people 😁 Food is good, the cervelle de canut and the crêpe were delicious. Price is very fair, quantity is more than enough .

My colleagues and I wanted to taste Lyonnaise cuisine and this restaurant had some local options which turned out to be delicious. The gratinée Lyonnaise (French onion soup) really hit the spot, and I had the saucisson Lyonnais and the sausage tasted very fresh. Finally the crepe confiture for dessert was a perfect finish. Excellent service as well!

Delicious Bouchon Lyonnais!🤩😋 It serves food non-stop, which is a super advantage as long as almost all the other restaurants at Vieux Lyon close their kitchen at 3pm. If you are a tourist who wants to enjoy a delicious typical Lyonnais food at any time, you definitely should go there 👌

Delicious food but we were disappointed by the slow service. Great for experience traditional food of Lyon, but make sure you have 2 hours to spare for lunch. Great prices though!

Had the menu, delicious onion soup, the quenelle (hake dumpling) was OK (don't know if it was authentic), the potato that came with it was yummy, but the crepe dessert was plasticy. Staff were nice, English spoken.
