We
visited
this
beautiful
park
seven
years
ago,
and
as
we
approached
with
the
view
of
the
amazing
gold
embossed
gates
I
was
smitten
with
the
place.
Looking
through
the
gates
I
saw
the
lake
and
it
was
something
of
a
fairytale!
This
was
immediately
enhanced
by
the
zoo,
big
cats
and
all,
then
on
to
the
extensive
"Jardin
Botanique".
The
park
is
set
in
such
extensive
grounds
and
array
of
flowers
bordering
the
lake,
well
done
gardening
staff
and
cleaners!
We
stopped
off
this
time
at
the
cafe
which
is
just
beyond
and
on
the
left
of
where
the
pedalos
are
on
the
lake
entrance.
I
have
to
admit
sadness
that
parts
of
the
zoo
had
become
redundant,
exemplified
by
an
empty
Polar
bear
cage,
that
is
compensated
for
by
the
fact
that
I
was
less
than
happy
by
the
thought
of
caged
animals
and
reflecting
that
birds
were
trapped
in
cages.
But
yea
full
marks
to
this
park
in
the
old
style,
reminiscent
of
the
big
parks
in
Manchester
such
as
Heaton
Park
that
was
not
quite
what
it
was
in
its
Victorian
heyday
and
up
to
say
the
1970's.
Please
visit
this
lovely
park
and
show
it
support
its
such
an
oasis
for
the
city
and
great
for
future
generations
of
children,
such
as
the
parties
of
school
children
I
saw
there
excitedly
looking
around
the
zoo
and
swooning
at
the
tall
giraffes.
We
love
you
"Golden
Gate
Parc"!
