This is my first day in the hotel, booked by the AMEX FINE HOTEL program. Service is good, AC works fine, water is hot. However, the carpet is broke and the wall kind of dirty. I am not sure if it is a current 5 stars hotel standard. Hope it will get fixed and next customer without surprise.

This hotel is gorgeous and elegant. Our room was clean and flawless. The bed was so comfortable I felt like sleeping on a little cloud. The bathroom was big and clean, and the hotel cosmetics smelled amazing (since they were from a well-known perfumer)—an excellent hotel for my short trip to Lyon. I hope I will have the chance to stay there again someday.

We stayed at this IC hotel during the heat wave of July 2022. It was over 100F outside and perfectly chilled in our room with air conditioning. Staff was knowledgeable, pleasant and accommodating. Outstanding service. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in July and really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms was spacious, wonderfully quiet and had effective black out curtains that could be controlled from the bed. Made for an easy time getting a good nights rest. The concierge was fantastic and recommended two exceptional places for dinner we never would have found ourselves. Location was never further than a 20 minute walk from anything we were interested in doing. Spa was good, not great, but the rest of the stay more than made up for it. Highly recommend.

The ambiance was unparalleled, offering the perfect setting to relax and enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and exquisite wines. Addressing concerns from other reviews, I can confirm that hot water was never an issue during my stay, and the rooms remained refreshingly cool even in the summer. In conclusion, Intercontinental Hotel Lyon truly stands out among its peers. The exceptional language service, fantastic restaurant, and breathtaking bar experience made my visit unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon. From the attentive staff to the comfortable accommodations and captivating views, every aspect of my stay was remarkable. Fascinating property, simply an amazing hotel with huge historic touch. Rooms are big, very clean. The food is superB, but above all, the staff is so attentive, smiling and proactive, they made my stay fantastic. Hats off to concierge team who went above and beyond to fulfill all the requests.

The hotel is in a very nice renovated old building and very well located in Lyon being close to the shopping area and the "old Lyon". The staff is very attentive . The hotel restaurant, Epona, is very professional . Sadly the room was depressing : very dark with only 1 window at the end of the side wall fully covered with a huge dark grey curtain one cannot open (see picture). 1 sink bathroom, 1 wardrobe, very low water pressure shower. The mini bar had to be electronically opened and was never reloaded (5 nights). Overall a great location, beautiful environment, very professional and attentive staff. But for up to 760 € / night the room is disappointing . The price is 5 stars , the room we had is 4 stars max . And finally sadly I booked online by error a parking space which I didn't need and which was included in a package but they haven't found a way to deduct it form my bill ...

Outstanding hotel converted from a historic hospital. Must visit bar, try their Pantheon cocktail. The room was a two-story suite, with a beautiful view of the river. Thank you Baptiste for welcoming us and giving us a quick tour! Their service is impeccable, topped with a kind handwritten note from the General Manager. Would love to come again soon!

Love this new hotel, the room is clean and beautiful with amazing breakfast! Update: We came back after two weeks in south of France. Our waitress -Mariam She was wonderful on guest service during Sunday brunch at Epona. She was quick to clean our plates and asked if we needed anything. She was so genuine and professional. She even asked how is our stay, she was interested in our well being. Amazing customer experience! Good job to the management team. Thank you!

Gracious. Elegant. Exquisite. Delightful. Historic. These are a few of the words I'd use to describe the Intercontinental Hotel Lyon. Then I'd finish with completing the entire staff from bellman to server through concierge and reception staff. This is how a Hotel should be.

Fantastic service. Staff were very nice and helpful. Hotel has the best location possible. Rooms were pretty. There is a nice cafe with an amazing ceiling view. Highly recommend it to anyone.

We have stayed at a few Intercontinental Hotels over time, and I have to say this one is located in a very beautifully historical building. However, as another reviewer has stated, “there is no such thing as air conditioning despite being told so”. We were greeted nicely upon check in by what seemed to be the manager on duty but then was passed onto a more junior staff member who was very nervous. We were not acknowledged of our IHG status and the check in seemed to take longer than desired. We spent the entire stay in the dark and sweating in our room because despite the “air conditioning” unit being set at the lowest temperature of 19C, it was an uncomfortable 22C the whole time, which meant we couldn’t sleep during the night. Apart from this, the hotel and room was lovely but I’m not sure I’d stay here again if we visited in spring/summer.

Pia at the front desk was extremely helpful. The whole staff was amazing and accommodated us with short notice after our nightmare stay at another local hotel. Thank you Pía for your help. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. The hotel is the best in town, the architecture is beautiful and the concierge helped us get a dinner reservation at a local spot that was amazing. My wife and I stayed at this fabulous hotel for three nights to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary. The hotel is fantastic and all the staff were very friendly, efficient and welcoming. The hotel location is perfect and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Special thanks to Matthew. He is much more than a porter – he is an amazing ambassador for this fine hotel with service and attention to detail just some of his trademarks. Thanks to all the staff for making this a memorable experience.

Another great visit. We stopped here pre pandemic shortly after the hotel had opened. This is our first time back after our initial visit and are happy to report another excellent visit. Excellent location in the city, welcoming service, superb rooms. High standard modern interiors in a charming historic setting. Love this place. Will come again.

Went there to spend a weekend in Lyon with our 10 month old little girl. It's not always easy traveling with a baby but the place was perfect (with a sweet little crib). The staff was very helpful and caring. We really appreciated their efforts in particular trying to deliver us dinner room service as quietly as possible while our little girl was already asleep.
