Ideally
located
on
the
Fouviere
hill,
high
above
the
city
noise,
and
within
easy
-
but
sometimes
rather
steep
-
walking
distance
from
all
the
sights
of
the
lovely
old
town
of
Lyon.
The
rustic
main
house
and
recently
reconstructed
side
buildings
are
centered
in
a
beautiful,
green
private
walled
garden,
partially
shaded
by
tall
trees.
The
garden
in
front
of
the
buildings
has
a
spacious
lawn,
surrounded
by
roses
and
herbs.
Breakfast
is
served
here
when
weather
allows.
Another
stone
walled,
private
garden
above
and
behind
the
buildings
is
accessible
by
stairs
between
the
buildings.
The
southern
section
of
this
latter
garden
has
a
stunning
view
of
the
city.
We
stayed
in
the
spacious,
lower
level
garden
suite,
with
large
southern
facing
windows
overlooking
the
front
garden.
The
room
is
elevated
enough
to
provide
good
privacy
without
requiring
pulled
curtains,
and
all
that
light
-
only
subdued
by
the
large
trees
-
was
lovely.
Ample
air
conditioning
kept
the
room
temperature
comfortable,
even
on
warm
sunny
days.
The
room
has
high
ceilings,
and
the
bathroom
section
is
only
separated
from
the
rest
of
the
room
by
a
half
wall,
emphasizing
the
spacious
feel.
The
toilet
is
in
a
small,
separate
room
with
a
lockable
door.
The
bathroom
has
a
medium
sized
bath
tub
with
room
for
two
sitting
adults
-
if
they
are
very
good
friends.
The
bath
tub
tap
comes
with
with
a
nice
shower
head
on
a
hose,
which
unfortunately
can't
be
wall
mounted.
There
is
no
shower
curtain
or
wall
on
two
sides
of
the
tub,
so
water
will
spill
all
over
the
bathroom
floor.
Fortunately,
there
are
plenty
of
towels
provided.
Breakfast
consisted
of
warm,
fresh
baked
goods
and
butter,
local
ham
and
cheese.
The
jams
appeared
to
be
home
made.
Freshly
squeezed
orange
juice,
coffee
and/or
tea.
Scrambled
eggs
were
optional.
The
hosts
were
very
service
minded,
pleasant
and
welcoming,
and
took
great
care
of
us.
We'd
love
to
come
back!
