The owners are very proud of belonging to the historic tradition of silk making in Lyon. Their wares are beautiful and are fairly priced, and their stock is produced by their atelier. Worth making a visit and setting aside a budget for their more lush creations!

This is a wonderful authentic silk shop in Lyon. Centrally located. Roman is the son of the owner and took expert care of us. He kindly explained the silk making process and showed us the silk weaver machine that has been in his family for decades. Their quality is excellent and wonderful customer service. Prices seem similar to some of the other shops that we visited but their quality is superior.

What a beautiful shop, the owner was so helpful and knowledgeable. We bought two pieces and couldn’t be more pleased. The back is the silk working shop that we got to see first hand, great experience.

Amazing experience at this shop! Went in by chance to look around and the gentleman there was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He took us into the back of the shop and showed us the looms that were set up and explained his family’s involvement. Really cool to have met somebody who was involved in the weaving as it was his family’s shop. Highly recommend anybody to stop by. Lots of choices in various price ranges. A big plus of being able to visit the workshop in the back.

This workshop is 100% worth your time to stop in! The looms in the back are amazing to see and the craftsmen are super friendly and happy to chat with you about their process! Loved my stop here and learned a lot! The guy was even willing to show me the looms and chat with me even though it was the weekend

I have bought several wonderful silk scarves for myself and for presents. There is a wide choice of patterns and colours for every taste. The quality is outstanding and it is of French origin, which makes it a perfect present for nearly any occasion. The customer service is excellent and very helpful, always willing to find a solution to every problem. I would like to thank especially Virgile for his immediate support and valuable advice. The delivery is fast and reliable, the packaging is beautiful. So, if you need a memorable present for your family and friends, a genuine Lyonnaise silk scarf is always a good idea. I would strongly recommend this tradition-rich shop and will surely buy more products in the future.

An incredibly cosy store with a welcoming father and son gladly explaining both the art and the history of silk in Lyon. In addition to the atelier, the shop is filled with the most wonderful and exquisite silk products. I highly recommend this store.

Visited this very lovely establishment during my recent time in Lyon. It was a wonderful experience. The father and son were very welcoming; the son spoke more English than the father and did show me around the store and even into the room where the silk looms are; showing me a restoration piece the father had been working on for maybe one year. The shop is very interesting and they have for sale beautiful women scarves as well as some handsome mens silk ties. I did make several purchases, which I am very happy with. I hope to be able to go back again someday soon!

Silk St Georges has two of the few remaining original silk looms in Lyon. The looms are primarily used for restoration of fabric in castles but the owner also designs and prints beautiful silk scarves and ties at very reasonable prices.

One old jacquard loom and one other loom plus a lot of historical silk weaving paraphernalia in the back room - definitely worth seeing if you have an interest in weaving. Small shop, reasonable selection of scarves - at the cheaper end. Pleasant service.

The owner was nice although he was in rush but still allowed us to see the products and the premises. The products were really nice particularly the silk ties which I saw were really good , might be the prices can be made little more affordable so that everyone can start buying the products.

I had the pleasure of visiting this little workshop tucked away in Vieux Lyon during our stay in 2018. The gentleman tending the shop, M. Ludovic de la Calle, kindly answered my many questions and it was evident that he took great pride in his craft and had an eye for the smallest details. He showed us around the workshop and demonstrated various ancient looms. It's a treat to listen to someone who is passionate about his art and I enjoyed my visit immensely. The scarves themselves are just lovely! They are light, soft, and well-made. I have ordered a few for myself and also given them as gifts and they have always pleased their recipients. There is now a new website and online boutique (since 2020) which makes ordering very simple, even outside of France.
