A good place to go and eat something in the center of Lyon. Place Is a bistro with a terrace located en la rue de l'Hôpital. A very vivid place. Service A bit chaotic, waiters are not very many and they seem to struggle to serve al tables. Once we got settled which took like 10 minutes. Food came qick. Food We had lunch at le République. We went for lyonaisse salad. Nice with many lardons and a perfectly poached egg and a big servings. For main the plat do jour (dish of the day) was pork chops over a bed of brown rice and roasted vegetables. The dish was surprisingly good and tasty. This is a good place for a beer, a quick bite or a lunch.

Nice people around here taking afterwork drinks, le republique got a really nice post close to city center Bellecour. Special mention to the bartenders, especially Christelle and Anaïs, hope to see you girls in Montreal 😌

After waiting 30mins to get a menu (which had no beers listed, in a bar that seems to specialise in beers), we then had to forcefully stop a waitress to make an order. Our 2nd drink was even harder to order and the barman simply said he was too busy to take our order (plenty of spare tables around...). Understaffed, no atmosphere, no sound for the sport and I wouldn't reccomend for drinks or to watch sport...which is what it seems to specialise..... Food looked ok. Warning: May starve before ordering though.

nicely renovated space that is far more comfortable and inviting than the previous establishment. The space is large and modern with lots of seating options. This location is very popular so during peak times it will become rather noisy and crowded. So keep that in mind based on the type of time you wish to have. The food here is simple and I found the fish and chips to be good. You will also find a decent selection of beers available on tap, coffee, and various softs. Will most likely visit again for a drink with some friends. The location didn’t appear to have any accessibility issues from what we observed.

The terrace is very nice. As far as the food... Rissoto was probably the was Ive tried in my life and poke was so so. Size of the dishes big but perhaps they should make them smaller with higher quality. Beer wasnt cold enought...this cannot be forgiven. Many things to improve....

Fast service and good value for money. It’s not your traditional brasserie experience, but then again, if you wanted the traditional version, the surrounding restaurants would do that for you. Restrooms need a bit more cleaning and maintenance but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Great place!👍 It reminded me of some, of the sport bars, back home, in the states. Large, flat screen TVs. Quick, and friendly service. Good food, and drinks. We will definitely go back! 👍

Modern and comfortable place to eat in the centre of Lyon. Friendly staff and tasty food. Definitely go for the Lyonnaise and Crispy Caesar salads!

Amazing and friendly service. We had wonderful lunch and the staff helped us a lot amongst the beer choice. Le Republique is the place to go when you visit Lyon. No matter the time of the day. Totally recommending!

Sad because the food was good but we had to wait hours for this and the service was the worst. Normally we would come back for the food but because of the bad service we would not come back or recommend this place!

We ordered salmon tartare as a starter and rib eye as a main. Very clear in our communication. We got both at the same time. The salmons side fries were COLD. Asked to take the steaks back so we could eat our starter. After eating salmon with warm fries, we got our DOA steaks. Had to send them back. Also the “sauce” (butter) was gone. BTW - thin as toilet paper. Staff got very short headed and started to act badly. Word of advise: if you search for something to eat late (as we had to - arrived late) GO TO MCD. At least you know what you get. We knew we wouldn’t get Bib Gourmand - but at least get your orders straight. Btw - the second steak was also well Done and came with a bone splint and that is potentially dangerous. 🤬
