Super great tour. Natalia and JD were super friendly and welcoming. The tour was very informative and interesting. Saw great bits of Lyon and definitely got our bearings of the city. Definitely recommend.

JD was welcoming from the outset and was such an open and knowledgeable tour guide. He had lived most of his life in Lyon and told us all sorts of interesting stories! To top it off, he made some excellent recommendations for food in the local area and I had one of the best meals in Lyon at Chez Grand-Mère. Thanks JD! A nite for those with mobility issues - the tour route involves quite a few steps so maybe advise the tour team before booking if this will affect you.

Highly recommend. We did the "Essential" tour. JD was our guide. Great information and he was very humorous. The tour took us through many different neighborhoods from the peninsula to the old town. I really enjoyed the street art and the background info. Our group was supposed to be 20 people but it didn't seem huge. It's a full 2 1/2 hours packing with great info...

We loved this tour, due to the enthusiasm of our guide. We went through several neighborhoods we would never have found. Loved the history! We would never have found the traboules, street art, or just getting around. Thank you especially for the photos and explanations of what the different food types are in the bouchons. Loved the walking tour with JD. He made it fun with lots of anecdotes and history facts. We visited Rousse Croix and Vieux Lyon. Perfect for an introduction to Lyon.

The 2.5hr tour was very interesting and we walked through hidden passageways that travellers will not usually take. The pace was good, not hurried and yet we managed to see many parts of the old town. The group size was a bit too big so sometimes it could be hard to hear the guide. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lyon and it beats exploring on your own. Remember to tip the guides for doing a great job!

The most wonderful free walking tour of Lyon by Jean Davide (aka JD). Super knowledgeable and fun guide, the 2.5hrs flew by and we covered lots of ground. Highly recommended

We had a fantastic tour with JD. Great pace, entertaining, interesting and fun. We had two kids (8 & 12) and they enjoyed it too. We learnt so much about the city and our guide has great recommendations for places to eat and also places to explore outside the tour. I highly recommend!

Gave a great English-language walking tour of Lyon! Friendly, nice tour guide, pay-what-you-want sliding scale. Ended with a great list of recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to try. Apparently gives tours every day, in the morning at 10:30 in English, and in the afternoon in French

The tour guide was excellent! We loved that she pointed out the small street art and introduced various artists to us. It was also great fun being led through the traboullehs, and being told the history of them. The tour guide was insightful and explained parts of French history to us (which was helpful because we don’t know much about it at all). The food recommendations are the end of the tour was a bonus too!

We had a great time on the ‘Essentials Walking Tour’. JD was a great tour guide and told us all about the history of Lyon as well as showing us the unique elements of the city such as the street art. We walked all around the city and went into areas which were away from the tourist traps which was great. It was also really useful to get tips of where to eat and places to visit on our trip. I’d definitely recommend booking on one of these tours if you’re visiting Lyon!

If you take this tour, you will definitely have better insight into Lyon - especially the picturesque squares and the best viewing spots of Notre Dame de Fourviere and interior courtyards that are likely to be missed by tourists in town for just a few days. Our tour guide was fun and knowledgeable and my husband thought the best of the tours we took so far in France (Montmartre and Petite France/Strasbourg).

My best free walking tour experience in any city! JD was both informative and funny, cared about us and the quality of the tour, which meant a lot! He also gave us lots of bouchons recommendations to eat afterwards (I can confirm at least one of them is great:)). Totally recommend this tour!!!

Very informative and interesting. We saw and learned a lot. Be aware, though, we walked about 3 km, much of it up steep hills and stairs. But the exertion was certainly rewarded with great views and interesting sites.

Bertrand is the best introduction you can hope for in Lyon! He's funny, interesting, and above all knowledgeable and patient. We highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking of touring Lyon on foot. Thank you from Italy!

Excellent walking tour. Our guide Svenje was very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely talented, she can even speak Chinese. It was a great pleasure joining the tour. Only one small complaint, google map is showing this place and not the actual gathering point confused me a bit.

The tour was really interesting and our tour guide, Jean David, very polite and eager to answer all the questions. We visited many places during the tour and we got recommendations about what to visit further, what to eat and what to drink in order to have a full overview of our staying in Lyon. I definitely recommend this tour without second thought!!
