Very cosy French-Latin American fusion restaurant with great food and drinks. The foie gras and croquette were so good we ended up ordering two portions. Mains were fantastic especially the scallops, and the desserts were unique, particularly the carrot cake. Cocktails were very interesting and the staff are super friendly and spoke English. The chef came to say hi and chatted with us too. Will definitely visit again in Lyon!

Limited daily menu (3 options). Everything was good, but not particularly amazing. We had a lot of superb meals in Lyon. This was the most expensive (120€). From the reviews, we expected to be wow-ed a bit more. The duck was fab though as well as the desserts. Entreés were our least favorite.

Had the pleasure of dining here during my business trip to Lyon. I made a booking error and was informed my reservation was for the subsequent night upon arriving at the restaurant. However, the lovely staff went above and beyond and accommodated my party for this evening. I enjoyed the dining experience end to end along with the wine recommendation - the prawn croquettes as highlighted by many was my favorite dish. As we finished our meal and preparing for our departure, the chef made a pleasant appearance. An absolute gem, highly recommended!

More than excellent food. Amazing flavor combinations of fresh produce, combined with great textures. Wonderful personal service, with greetings from the chef and his wife. Highly recommended

I enjoyed every dish, and the prawn croquettes were the standout. Vegetarian risotto was interesting. The Guinea fowl was tasty too. We walked in without a reservation but The kitchen seems to have limited amount of food. Good sign that the produce is fresh

Beautiful eating space, very attentive and friendly staff, and gorgeous food presentation. Some of the dishes really worked, and some we found a bit too subtle for our American tastes. Still highly recommended and worth a meal.

I recently dined at Canaima Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was not only delicious but clearly crafted with meticulous effort. The friendly and attentive staff added to the positive experience, making us feel well taken care of. The cozy, intimate atmosphere contributed to a homely feel, enhancing the overall dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a delightful culinary adventure! Finally, the owner and his wife and family are so nice. The fact that this place was a family business made it even better. I would tell you to rush and try it!

This place is SO good! I was trying to take more food pictures but everything was so good that I ate it all but trust, those “Croquette” were on point! French cuisine with a Latin American touch is exactly right. Andrés (Chef) and Veronica (Manager) are the best duo, so friendly and detail oriented, they’ll go above and beyond to make your meal a very special one. Oh and the decor is so homey, perfect for a date night and they have a really good price point. Will not disappoint!

Perfect service, perfect food, but be careful with the margaritas, they are so good you can't stop drinking them

We had each a 3 course meal. Both the starters was great. We had the prawns and the ceviche. The ceviche was delicious, and the prawns were top notch! Both of us had the pork pluma for dinner. Wow, how tender the meat was. Unfortunately, the dessert was disappointing. We had the ice cream trio and the passion fruit siphon. Both were mediocre. But overall, nice sized of each dish.

Food was better than anticipated. Very nice flavor profiles. Meat was cooked to perfection. Minor deduction for waitress pouring red wine on table (I think she was new and training).

A must if you are visiting Lyon! The Chef Andres Sandoval has really brought the best from the french and latin american cousine in every dish!

Very thoughtful and refined presentations. Interesting flavour combinations. Beautiful executions. We had the artichoke arepa, bacon wrapped sous vide beef, and corn cachapa. We enjoyed it all. Good cocktails to start (appreciate the paper straw). Lovely service too. Thanks for the very nice experience.

My first experience with French-Latin American cuisine…. But I guess it was a bit of a let down for me. It started quite promising with cromesqui d’agneau (lamb croquettes) that was a winner, especially with the creamy pepper & coconut sauce that was also great with the bread. Ceviche was fresh and refreshing. However with a small menu, there isn’t much to choose from for the main dish. We had the Ballotin but found it a bit dry and lacking a flavourful punch. Would have been better if it was served with a classic mash potato instead of a cassava which was lacking seasoning & the texture was no so refined. Dessert didn’t sound so appealing so we left without having any. Food : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance : ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a perfectly good meal here, but had looked forward to a fun and wet evening. The food was perfectly fine, quite tasty, but the restaurant had run out of several ingredients for some cocktails and didn't have several beers in stock otherwise on the menu. The strange thing was that it was early in the evening. Anyway, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere either sitting by high tables or regular tables. Staff was very friendly and provided good service in English. We had shrimp croquetas, sea bream tiradito, ballotine of guinea fowl and sea bass. I remember wanting more jus with the serving of guinea fowl, but it was well cooked and moist. We were probably a bit unlucky that day and could have had a 5* experience otherwise.

Amazing Venezuelan-French food. Excellent service. When we asked them when they closed they said “when the last customers leave.”

Delicious dishes! Gastronomic and exotic. French cuisine with latino fusion, very different and tasteful! Service was also wonderful. The chef was a very nice host, and the place very nice and joyful. I recommend it 100%

Canaima was one of the best experiences we’ve had at a restaurant! Our meal was delicious and visually stunning. Andres and Veronica are exceptionally talented - we will be returning to Canaima our next time in Lyon without doubt.

Exciting food experience! The mix of latin american food flavors with the delicate methods of french cuisine make this restaurant a true gem in Lyon. We had amazing time meeting the Chef Andres and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal with wine followed by a Mojito (highly recommend)

Andrés and Verónica have created a wonderful space that fuses a carefully curated menu and a delightful atmosphere for an overall enjoyable experience. Every dish is a collection of multiple flavors and textures, some of which immediately transport you to Venezuela, while being aware you are in epicenter of French cuisine. Wrap your experience up with a sip of the 1796 Santa Teresa rum, you will not regret it.
