The restaurant is in great condition and felt very clean. The staff acted very professionally and I felt treated well. The 1 Kilo steak while being 50€ is definitely worth it if being shared between 3 or more people along with some sides. It’s was also nice that given the size of the 1 Kilo steak that it could be sent back to the kitchen several times to be cooked further if desired. The meat itself was good, and the sides were enjoyable.

If the service staff in Holland only speak English. The chef and the meat were absolutely top notch. The service was nice, but also slightly overwhelmed. It's certainly not easy to serve 18 people at the same time. But serving three fries 5 minutes after everyone was ready is stupid. Otherwise, someone with a little overview was missing. But the meat was absolutely top.

We went there during the André Rieu week. I would say it is the perfect place to be if you want to sit in a restaurant during the performance. Note: the seat or first come first shift so I would recommend arriving early for the show. Staff is very friendly and tries to help arrange seatings when it rains. Food was OK. We had no choice since it was part of the package of Andre. However, the drinks are unexpectedly reasonable price!

We made a reservation for dinner here. A paid parking park was located near the underground square, so it's easy and close to walk to the restaurant. When we arrived, the table was ready. We ordered beef tartar which you can mix it however you want, but I wish that they could mix it for you and ask you how you prefer. Instead, you have to do it yourself. We also ordered mixed appetizers, empanada, sausage, and shrimp. For the main course, we ordered beef de lomo steak and another cut of beef. Overall, the beef is really tender, and they cook it as you want it, for us is rare. We have to order the side separately for the steak as it is not included. Mushroom is really good for the side. Maybe we will come back when we are craving for steak.

Had a delightful evening tonight. Went here with 2 friends. We all ordered the spare-ribs, which were prepared to perfection. Open flame grilled. A little bit of charring, but not to much. The ambiance hasn't changed much since the last time i was here, about 6 years ago. Staff was friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommended. The ice-cream at the end with the freshly whipped cream was the literally cherry on top of the cake. I should visit more often!

We were looking for a steak house and luckily we were told about this place from locals. We went to check out the store and it was very impressive from the outside and the inside. What our initial impression was is that the maitre d was very cautious about sanitation and the spread of any germs. Even though we were not forced to wear masks, but in Holland nobody wears masks, we were almost forced to wash your hands with disinfectant entering the restaurant and every time we exited the bathrooms! Alright let's get to my favorite part... The food! I have not had steak this good in over 15 years! So succulent and perfectly cooked! Of course it is a bit ridiculous that you have to pay separately for fries and bread and anything else, meaning the steak doesn't get served with anything, the awesomeness of the steak made me overlook anything negative! I can't wait to visit the place again next time I go to town!!

The steak was delicious. Perfectly tender, definitely one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the fries were just standard from a bag (I know exactly which ones from my own catering experience) and the pepper sauce was a bit bland (I'm a big pepper sauce fan). There could have been some coarse grains in the sauce and it certainly could have been a bit spicier. Afterwards I shared a Dame Blanche with my girlfriend which was also good. There is a clear allergen card online (I did not ask for a physical card so I don't know if it is available), so my friend with gluten intolerance knew exactly what she could and could not eat.

Just a perfect 500 gram sirloin steak! Totally forgot the photograph the tartar as starter. And one thing. Its affordable!

Quality versus performance wise, a very good restaurant. The meat was very good, we order rib eye, which was extremely good. Sidedishes were freshly prepared. The wine was also good.

I visited this restaurant with my family on a whim without calling ahead on a saturday. Still we were seated immediately and drinks and eventually our food were brought very quickly. The food was great, and the price far below our expectations (given the quality of the food, the great service, and the current inflation driving prices very high). All in all a top-level experience!

The food was great, the ambience really nice with good music. The service took some time at first but got quite good by the end of the evening too.

One of my favourite restaurants (best spare-ribs that I know, served optionally with an excellent maïs corn or other good veggies), I go there for ... 20? years. A little noisy, sometimes the serving can take some time, but at last visit it was perfect. PS : try the Argentinian wine.

Excellent fillet steak, perfect medium rare with some nice grilled asparagus and pepper sauce. Friendly staff, great ambience, we were sitting outside so it's even better. Various choices of wine and drinks. The irish coffee closed down the night and it was good overall. Would like to come back!

The first time I went here the food (spare ribs) was very good, and I liked the sauce which came with my spareribs (not bbq but the other selfmade sauce). (5/5) Second time was last Tuesday. Got the wrong order twice (and they corrected it immediately after we asked), and the spare ribs where not very good. Also didn't get the sauce (other than bbq), maybe I should've asked (even though I didnt the first time) so it could be on me. Fries were a bit raw and tasted a lot like the McDonald's fries (but colder). (3/5) I hope this isn't normally the case, but just a little dip in performance.

Great Spare Rips Bad Fries

I passed through Maastricht in 2019 on a trip from Aix-la-Chapelle to Liège and decided to have lunch there. The Gauchos is nicely located at the city's beautiful main square. The price for a perfectly cooked medium rare 180g rump steak, fries, a salad, and a large beer was only 21,50 euros. So really good value for my money. Also, the staff was friendly and the service was reasonably quick. The outdoor seating offers a great view over the Vrijthof square.

Great place for a tasty, high quality steak. Unfortunately, there are no side dishes nor sauce that come with a steak. Sauce, vegetables and/or fries have to be ordered separetely. A bit pricey, but definitely worth jt. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful.

Fine dining restaurant. If you're in Maastricht i would definitely recommend going here. The staff is friendly the is good, especially the beef they serve. As a personal tast i would like to see the grilled paprika somewhat more grilled with lots of salt. But thats personal taste. If have eaten here for 2 times now and there as been no changes whatsoever, which is good.

Great service and a fantastic meal. The place was very elegant and the atmosphere was great. It was out choice for a birthday meal and although a little more expensive than your average restaurant, you get what you pay for. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it, place was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly. What more could you ask for?
