We came here without expectations yet the modern exhibit of Ted Noten was quite interesting and fascinating! I'm impressed with his incorporation of 3D printing into his models. It just shows that gives so much more flexibility and creativity for his expression. The place has a good cafe at the reception. There's also a locker area where you can store your stuff temporarily as you go around the museum. At the end of our visit, I helped some of the museum staff on some technical issue with the 3D printer in the lobby. The museum ladies were very nice and courteous. We really enjoyed this visit!

Small but nice museum in an old, interesting building

Zentral im Spaans Gouvernement am Vrijthof-Platz gelegenes Museum, das u.a. wechselnde Fotoausstellungen zeigt, z.Zt. 'Survivors - Faces of Life after Holocaust' des deutschen Fotografen Martin Schoeller. Ein gut organisiertes Museum mit hilfsbereiten und freundlichen Mitarbeiterinnen. Interessante Wechselausstellungen werden in den Sälen des historischen Gebäudes mit Innenhöfen und umlaufenden Galerien ansprechend präsentiert. Nach dem Ausstellungsbesuch sollte man sich Zeit für einen Besuch in dem sehr guten Museumscafé nehmen, sehr schmackhafte Kuchen, lecker Kaffee, freundlicher Service. Ein Muss für jeden Besuch in Maastricht.

Not worth it without a museumcart. No permanent collection, very boring festival photography exhibition with no artistic value (leaving 3 stars instead of 1 because it is partly my own fault for not checking what I am getting for €11)

I visited this museum with my boyfriend and parents in August. Nice museum, well maintained, very nice photographic exhibition, everyone liked it. Honest ticket price (€11), if you have the annual museum card it is free.

Very small though unique museum. I really enjoyed the stories behind the pictures and the meanings behind them, really makes you think about it:) I enjoyed it, but it is definitely not a must see in Maastricht

A nice museum that in the middle of January 2018, had an exposition of three wonderful Dutch female painters. All three are worth seeing. Would also recommend to visit just to experience how several different houses are organized into a single exhibiting space.

Very nice, cozy museum right along vrijthof Square. Went to see the 'tomorrow will be beter' exhibition, with photographs of people over a 100 years old. I'd recommend to use the virtual tour for background information.

Lovely palace and beautiful photo exhibition of Terry O' Neill photos of legends and celebreties. Pleasant and friendly staff. Beautiful cafe on premises.This is an Art Institution.

We drove a long way for the exhibit yet when we arrived at the museum we were informed by a piece of paper at the entrance that the museum is closed due to a special event. This change in opening hours was not stated on the website nor on google maps. Here it clearly states that the museum is open on Sundays. We are disappointed.

exellent small exhibtions in a beautiful setting This museum has varying expositions and is a fine place for experiencing different aspects of beauty. Fashion by Dutch designers, Photography, local artists' works etc. I have yet to experience any exhibition not worth a visit. Also worth your while: taking note of the superb architecture, an attractive blend of old and modern. And don't forget the precious permanent exhibition of fine old works of silver, mostly originating from Maastricht. A visit to the museum ends on a pleasant note when you stay in the café on the groundfloor where they serve some of the best pastry of Maastricht (made by one of the best pastry chefs). We always find it relaxing and enjoyable to visit this small museum, gathering mental and physical strength -- to continue shopping -- or just realize that going home is also an option. ;-)
