😠 I had a very bad experience. I felt a stranger all the times. In one year we had only three lessons and the PBL method is horrible. The truth is that they don’t care about you, they only care about your money. Think twice before going to this university. People often mention university, students, city, Maastricht, experience, University, student,

Great city, but it's very difficult and stressful to find a room. My bachelor was difficult, I didn't find out until mid July whether I could continue to second year, and then it was impossible to find housing. By the end of August I haven't found a room, the only possibility was to rent a studio for 1500 euros, so I had to go back home.

I moved from South Africa to study a BSc Psychology at Maastricht University. Whilst I don’t have another reference point, I can say that my experience at Maastricht has been one that I would recommend to anyone. I have been blown away by the high standard and very carefully thought through structure of education, the interactive problem-based learning system which is unparalleled by other universities’ impersonal approach, the support and care shown for students on an individual level, and professionalism when dealing with challenges or concerns raised by students. The coursework has been intensive and workload quite demanding, which has been challenging but also meant that you are studying alongside students who are equally as engaged and willing to work hard in the subject. Studying at Maastricht has also given me many additional opportunities such as research internships and tutoring experience that certainly would not have been available to me back home, but have been invaluable to my person and professional growth and I believe also put me at a competitive advantage in terms of future opportunities. Aside from the university, Maastricht is a safe, international and vibrant city which is small enough to soon feel like a home away from home. I will soon begin an MSc at King’s College London, and feel confident that my bachelors degree has prepared me well. I will always remain extremely grateful for this experience and would wholeheartedly recommend this university to anyone else who has the opportunity.

One of the worst university experiences I have ever had. Starting off with the whole "international" aspect, I hate to break it to you but this is a facade. Most students are from Germany and Belgium, they will usually stick to their groups; making it very hard to meet actual international people. PBL, Problem based learning is an actual joke. It basically means that you have to teach yourself (but of course still pay the tuition). You are assigned a mentor in the lessons but these are not even professors and usually just 3rd year students... actual lectures from professors are almost non-existent. The communication is also horrible, tutors dont really care about you and regularly ignore your emails. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE BY FALLING FOR THEIR MARKETING. There are many amazing universities in the Netherlands, but Maastricht uni is not one of them.

You pay 10k€ per year as a foreigner only to pay for overpriced food at a cafeteria thats supposed to be cheap with printers that never work and charge you a whopping 0.05€ per page. Waste of money

ISSUE REGARDING "ZACHTE KNIP-REGULATION" To any student applying to an SBE course please read this. I am an Italian student ad I was accepted to the SSPS master's course on June this year. After that I informed the university that I wasn't able to graduate from my previous university before October. At the first moment they only told that I had to send them a temporary certificate of my diploma, almost a month later they told that I have to apply with the "zachte knip-regulation", so I did that. I asked them multiple times through phone calls and email if I was applicable to this document and they told me that I was. Yesterday, one day before the introduction day, they send an email in which the told that my documentation was rejected, because the missing credits that I needed were more than the 12 that the regulation admits, and that I cannot start my course the week after. I didn't know anything about this rule until yesterday despite calling them a lot of times ( asking them specifically what the requirements were ), and even after I went to the office in person, where they gave me a temporary enrolment certificate and assuring me that everything was fine. So in conclusion I lost almost 2000 euros for an accommodation, living expenses, flights and furniture, because they were not able to give me proper information about my situation neither on the website or phone call or in person. P.S. DON'T BELIVE YOUR PERSONAL UNIVERSITY ACCOUNT NOTIFICATION BECUSE I STILL RESULT AS AN ENROLLED STUDENT FOR THIS ACADEMIC YEAR, GOOD LUCK.

From all the people I met that go to Maastricht uni. Are mostly only there because they've been told they have to by mummy and daddy. Heavily capitalised city with even more capitalisation on education. It's atrocious. Standard uni business model.

Had a fantastic time in Maastricht this weekend. Great old city with plenty to do, see and eat. Also if you're a big fan if André Rieu, then I can highly recommend his show in Maastricht which is his home city.

Poor wheelchair accessibility on certain buildings and terrible building information, prepare to walk for a while if you're looking for a specific classroom or a building. Staff and other students are happy to help though where available.

Overall a good university that teaches students to be independent. My only two grudges would be that it's very dependent on closed or straight up immoral software, and that it just assumes everyone has laptops and smartphones. For the closed and immoral software: be prepared to give up all your student communication to microsoft as that's the email provider of choice at this uni, be prepared that courses will require you to use software that only works on windows, be prepared to discover that 90% of communication from this university is done through corporate social media such as instagram. In that way this university is really behind in terms of privacy-protection and cyber-inclusivity.

I kindly request the University Management Committee to intervention to address the issues surrounding NIDO Randwyck. The impact on my child's education is substantial, with the uncertainty surrounding their living situation causing significant stress. I seek your assistance in finding a solution to this matter.

Very modern university with diversity. Location is perfect, middle of city center! Student friendly city, best place to study outside the university tip: Mickey Brown's Coffee house at Mosae Forum. Tip for living: Dormin housing next the the foodhall Foodchurch. Enjoy the city

Absolutely avoid applying or attending this university. The level is ridiculously low, teachers are rude and do not teach, just assign (group) assignments, in which you cannot count on nobody but yourself, because people are lazy and teachers do not provide you with proper course material. I attended Intellectual Property and Knowledge Management programme in the Faculty of Law on an MSc. track after my bachelor's in Information Security in Czech Republic. The program completely failed to accommodate MSc. students and had no relevance to science and technology, which resulted in 2 out of 3 people on this track leaving after 2 months. The inspectorate of education should definitely examine this programme, especially the MSc. track and seriously consider its accreditation. After the first examination period (6 weeks), I politely requested a transfer to the Cyberlaw programme on the same faculty. In response, the programme directors arranged an in-person meeting. Instead of discussing the logistics of the transfer, they were condescending and made presumptions about me without any knowledge of my background. They dismissed the transfer, asserting that I wouldn't pass the exams (despite holding a cum laude degree in the same field). They also remarked that by looking at me I was "too young" for the programme, stating that they rarely accepted students directly from bachelor's programmes "unless they are very, very exceptional" — all without reviewing my academic records. This school is fundamentally flawed, and leaving was the best decision I have ever made.

Central, reasonably comfortable but very small rooms. We stayed overnight and had little luggage. If we had had a couple of suitcases we wouldn't have known where to put them. The two staff members who greeted us on arrival in the evening were friendly and helpful. The two on duty in the morning when we left couldn't have cared less.

University: very well equipped, very big and the Problem Based Learning Methods are just phenomenal. It is a very effective Method in my opinion. The University buildings are modern and the staff is very helpful. The only downside is the accommodation. It is a horrible crisis in the city indeed many students are struggling and no one can help. The University offered online learning alternative so that was a great step but it didn't change much.

The University does not meet the standards of a university. The Board if Examiners is not competent in making decisions and explaining them to the student. This is especially true when one course coordinator „hates“ the student and does not do their task as a coordinator, and as a result from that, the student cannot do anything except applying to the Board of Examiners. However, when reaching out to them, they don’t understand the problem and also don‘t care. Overall, the university is not well managed and I would definitely not recommend it to fellow students.

The Executive MBA was a very valuable experience for me. I learned a lot about different aspects of business, and I also had the opportunity to network with other finance professionals. The faculty were great, and they really helped me to understand the material.

If you want to study anything STEM related, go to literally any other university, trust me. It lacks organization and professors that can actually teach and explain properly. The exams are very difficult, but that wouldn't be a problem if we had study materials- which we don't. So, friendly advice, if you value your mental health, don't come here :). The city is amazing, the university, on the other hand.... isn't.
