Breakfast for 2 was very tasty. My breakfast sourdough roll was very flavorful and my wife's salmon bagel was very fresh and soft. Service was excellent and restaurant settings was relaxing. Will definitely return.

I was looking for somewhere to celebrate my being 20 years past cancer diagnosis and came across the Sweet Rose Cakery. I had dismissed other afternoon tea places as having overly fancy food - don't get me wrong you can still get all that here - but they state on their menu that you can also have it without condiments or with them on the side. Ideal for us as we prefer our food plain. This was the only place I found that offered that as an option. There are other types of afternoon tea than the traditional one we had, so don't let our boring palates put you off. The four of us ate well there with cakes left over and the staff kindly packaged them up for us in a box to take home. Our tables were reserved with a cute little blackboard with my name and the time we could have the table. In our case 12-2. I liked the fact that I knew upfront how long we could be there without worrying about outstaying our welcome. My Husband isn't keen on cakes as such and they only to happy to help by toasting him a teacake which we paid for in addition to the tea itself. It's always handy to know that you can add extras on, like my hot chocolate and his latte. All in all, the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, they even helped us work out what bus we could get home and kindly humoured me by reading my special commemorative card, lol (Sorry about that). I will definitely be going again.

I highly recommend @sweetrosecakery for their exceptional wedding cakes! The cake they crafted for our special day was a true masterpiece. The vegan top tier was incredibly delicious and moist, showcasing their expertise in catering to different dietary preferences. The bottom tier, a classic Victorian sponge, was equally delightful, adding a traditional touch that pleased all our guests. Their attention to detail and commitment to taste and quality made our wedding cake a memorable highlight of the celebration.

We always enjoy our visits to the Sweet Rose Cakery, whether just for a coffee or for lunch. Wayne and Dawn are always so friendly and happy to tweak the menu to cater for your tastebuds, whilst Julie works hard in the kitchen continually producing superb food. Definitely recommend!

Took my Mum and Aunt for a treat. Absolutely excellent afternoon tea; the sandwiches are lovely, soft and fresh and the fillings tasty. Cakes very fresh and chocolate cup cake not too sweet. The homemade scone was huge, crumbly and melted in the mouth. Delighted to have Lady Grey tea as the perfect match: citrus/marmalade flavours and aromas went well with the food. Warm and friendly owners. Top notch: done with love, highly recommended

The coffee, the brownies and the bacon sandwiches keep bringing me back to Sweet Rose. The Cakery has such a lovely and friendly vibe that my daughters want to visit every evening, and we do. The quality of the cakes is unrivalled, the coffee is the best I’ve had in the UK and the service has always exceeded my expectations. It has become a home from home and I’m supporting a local business run by local people. My belly feels good after each visit so does my mind. Win win. The lemon fairy cakes are to die for. At the end of December I ordered two birthday cakes. Delicious and huge and a great price. It’s where I take my family and meet my friends. It’s just wonderful in every way.

The food was great, friendly staff and they catered to our intolerances which I really appreciate. However we would have wished that they asked us if we wanted more tea / drinks - it felt a bit awkward to ask.

Our party of 5 enjoyed luxury afternoon tea this afternoon, plenty of sandwiches with lovely fillings, delicious scones and cakes which are all home made. Nothing was too much trouble and our sandwich fillings were changed for one of our party. Plenty of space between tables with clear screens between each table booking. I will be returning again to support this local business.

Had Afternoon Tea. It was a very enjoyable treat. Tasty, fresh and with as much tea and coffee as you wanted, served in a pretty tearoom. What more could you want! Would definitely go again and recommend it to family and friends.

Has the most loveliest afternoon celebrating my daughters baby shower. I think there was some confusion with our initial booking which was rectified without any drama. The most loveliest gentleman ( possibly the owner ) was on hand to deliver a wonderful service despite it being busy. Food was exceptional and thoroughly recommend the scones 🥰 I can't thank him enough for his patience. Beautiful place, atmosphere and money well spent.

Relaxed atmosphere with lovely service but the afternoon tea was the cherry on the cake. Definitely worth a visit for a cuppa, cake and/or sandwich. FYI IKEA highchairs, for all those mummies. 👍

After visiting the Sweet Rose Cakery for a friend's Babyshower, I took along my mother and mother in law and 3 year old son. An enjoyable time had by all. The ladies working were polite, friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic and they even supplied a children's afternoon tea for my son (with all of his favourite things!) which was a lovely suprise for him. Very well thought out afternoon tea in a cosy, pretty atmosphere and fantastic service with unlimited tea and coffee. parking is opposite and along the high street for a maximum of 3 hours, which is more than enough. Highly recommend and we will be visiting again for sure.

A big thank you to Julie and Wayne for the amazing food you supplied for our daughters 21st birthday party. Julie went above and beyond to accommodate us on New Year’s Day! All the food was really fresh and delicious. We picked the food up at 11am and the sandwiches were still fresh when we were grazing at 11pm!! We had sandwiches also with a veggie option, mixed wraps and trays of chicken pieces. Everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food, so hopefully you have more customers coming your way… thanks again.
