Went for a few drinks on a Friday afternoon around 5pm. This is a cafe bar and serves drinks, cocktails, snacks, lunch and dinner. It is located in Pinewood Shopping Centre in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria and is open for lunch and dinner. Parking was easy to find with off street parking in the shopping strip. There are quite a few other restaurants in the vicinity such as pizza, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, kebabs, Subway etc and even a great ice cream parlour and a community cinema where you can see movies for a very, very good price. The service in Cafe 57 was good and tables were quickly filled. We were greeted at the entrance and seated quickly. The place was clean and well lit. We had cocktails and dips. The cocktails were ok though the amount of alcohol in them compared to other places I have been seemed to be pretty low. Dips and bread were reasonable in quality though the amount of dips was quite small. One good thing is the dessert array, which looked amazing. There is a large variety of sweets which all looked very appetising. In summary, a well presented place which has been around for a few years, which serves good food, has good service, all for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.

Today a large group of us came in to celebrate a Baby Shower for brunch. The staff at Cafe 57 were next level amazing! A seperate area for us, all orders of coffee and food were perfect! The atmosphere was excellent. The coffee was hot, fresh and delicious! The food catered to each persons personal needs including dietary requirements. This was one of the best Melbourne Breakfast Experiences I have had in a long time , I will be recommending to all my family and friends! Thank you Cafe 57 xo

Nice café in Melbourne. I’ve been here a couple of times for breakfast and it is still as good as I remember. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious, however, the drinks are a little pricey considering it was extra for a “larger” mug (which wasn’t that big) and for decaf coffee and milk alternatives which made the coffee an extra $2. Despite that, the desserts are all very tempting and tasty and I recommend the “When In Rome” (The one that looks like a face in the photo), the scrambled eggs and Open Greco Omelette.

Have been to this cafe so many times and loved all their dishes and cakes. Whenever we feel like eating cakes, we will think of this cafe and take away few pieces home but tonight was so disappointed..... we take away 2 pieces caramel macadamia cheesecake and a New York cheesecake. The caramel macadamia cheesecake was so dry and the white cream on top hard and cracked, it’s seems like sitting there for days. Their standard had dropped, won’t be back again.

From the minute you walk into this hidden, local gem you feel welcomed. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and service warm and friendly. I only had coffee on this occasion but it was delivered exactly as ordered. The place was fairly busy but not noisy. The food looked amazing and I can't wait to return to try it.

We dropped into 57 Cafe for a late Saturday breakfast and left feeling very satisfied. I had the Salted Caramel Pancakes and was surprised by how well the addition of cookie crumbs and choc honeycomb pieces worked to introduce a bit of crunch and texture. We also ordered the Eggs Lava (aka Shakshouka), Chilli Hombre (scrambled eggs) and the When in Rome (poached eggs). There was also a tempting selection of freshly made fruit juice combos. Everything was as tasty as it was creatively named. The atmosphere is also stylish but comfortable.

Just had a coffee today, but it was one the best flat white I’ve ever had, good amount of coffee and temperature was excellent, second time I had spinach feta spanakopita which was great 👍

I’ve been here a couple times and the food has been great. We went for a birthday dinner and I got the beef and bacon pasta the other dish is the verdure risotto and they were both very good. Service was good but the music could have been a little louder as it was pretty loud. I would definitely come back!

Cafe 57 is an extremely clean, and ‘service focussed’ cafe in Pinewood Shopping Centre, Mount Waverley. Here with a guest, we ordered the ‘Potato & Leek Soup’ & the Mediterranean Wrap- with Spinach, Red Cabbage, Zucchini, Sweet Potato,Mushroom, Avocado, tomato salsa & shredded cheese. The texture of the soup looks amazing, however, I feel the depth of the flavour needs to be greater, as the soup was ‘slightly bland’- perhaps ‘Caramelised Onion in the soup would give it a deeper flavour. Generous Bread & real butter with the soup was provided. The Mediterranean Wrap perhaps could have done with some grilled Red Capsicum & Halloumi. Overall a 4/5, with exceptional table service. Highly recommend.

Great dinner menu with great customer service. Paella 🥘 was very nice and tasty highly recommended.

It may have been my meal choice vs my preferences but I found the lamb in my open lamb souvlaki a bit too pink on the inside for my liking. Otherwise, the meal was good. The service and music/atmosphere was great. I would go here again. Would recommend 👌

I had a wonderful solo experience here last night. The service was fantastic. I was pleased to see the place was half full at 6pm on a Wednesday night. I ordered pork cutlets and they were amazing. Would happily eat here again.

I would highly recommend this cafe. Their chocolate cake is sensational! We celebrated our wedding anniversary last year here and my husband loved their chocolate cake so much that he said was the best ever. So this anniversary I went to get a couple of pieces as take away to surprise him. The size is insanely generous! We ended up sharing one piece among 5 of us…

Yesterday I organized a work dinner at 57 Cafe Bar. What an amazing experience it was. The atmosphere was aesthetically appealing, great food and drinks. They were quite busy but the food and drinks were promptly served. For the staff and service hands down 5 stars. Will definitely visit here often. Keep up the high quality experience you all provide. Thank you to the whole team for putting on a great show.

It was Friday lunchtime, very busy, and we were a table of 14. Some dishes were unavailable and things could have gone badly, but we had a lovely wait person. He was charming, cheerful and sorted all our requests. Great staff can make or break a place. And this gentleman is worth double his salary. But I did notice all of the staff were smiling and appeared happy. It makes a big difference to the customer experience.

One of my favourite restaurants. Staff are lovely and the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. Their salt and pepper calamari is the best calamari I’ve had in Melbourne. Always cooked to perfection and the salt and pepper crumb is light and delicious!

Great food. Friendly staff. Service was quick and efficient. Reasonable pricing. . 4 cocktails, entrees, 2 mains, softdrink, 2 frangelico affogatos $180.

An excellent community orientated local cafe. A great range of high quality food with great customer service at reasonable prices. The family owned cafe supports the local schools and sporting teams and a great asset to the community. I’d recommend the risotto, cutlets or pasta for lunch or dinner and ‘the shred’ for breakfast.

A really wonderful local cafe. It has a lovely atmosphere that I find to be quite relaxing, and the service is impeccable. Indeed, the waiting staff is unfailingly polite and hospitable, and always seeks to make patrons comfortable. The food, moreover, is really tasty -- I particularly recommend the daily soup, which is always rich and filling. Cafe 57 is great for a quick coffee stop or a long, lingering lunch. Highly recommended.

Dropped in for lunch. It was very crowded and very, very noisy. We waited almost 15 to be served as it seemed only 1 young lady was attending a large number of tables. Food arrived promptly, but we were underwhelmed. For the cost involved, it was disappointing. Staff were friendly. Next time, I'd only grab takeaway coffee and a cake from their incredible selection.

We booked for a group of friends and were very pleased with the service snd food. We have been here many times and like the atmosphere, service and food day or evening so keep up the good work we will be back. 😊

Had breakfast here for the first time on Sunday, I asked for the corn fritters without the meat and our waiter asked if I'd like to substitute it for mushrooms which was amazing as we'd just left a Cafe round the corner who refused to substitute my order. Our meals came out quickly and they were delicious!!! The service was excellent, the wait staff were friendly. Would definitely return.

It looks like they like scamming people out of money. My friend ordered Black Angus Porterhouse, Eye Fillet Steak and Char Grilled Pork cutlets for us but only got Black Angus Porterhouse and Eye Fillet Steak, no char grilled pork cutlets. Beware as they take advantage of you on the uber eats app! This is really unacceptable.

Dined for dinner with friends. I had the pork cutlets with sweet potato mash, broccolini & honey mustard sauce. My meal was tasty. I also had a Prana chai which was nicely brewed & also tasty. Service friendly. Will return to try other menu items.

A nice atmosphere and great customer service made us feel warm and welcoming. The prawn linguini was delicious , I particularly liked the flavour of the chilli flakes in this dish.

Wanted to try this place out because it always seems to be packed, however, the coffee was pretty average and the chilli hombre was not at all worth the money. The hangover roll was decent, just a little dry.

Choc volcano is devilishly delicious 🤤 Definitely a fine place to get reconnected with your kids.

Never ever again will try orange and pistachio cake. It was so heavy and bitter!! 2 stars just for nice atmosphere and customer services. I am updating my review after more than a year and taking back 2 stars I gave last time. The rating of this cafe is high, so I thought to give a second chance to it and try something new there,but it really didn't worth it. Cheesecake was too sweet, lemon tart stale and carrot cake frosting thick! Waste of money!

A fantastic evening with work colleagues. We were sat in the private dining room at the rear, which was perfect, with excellent service throughout the evening. A wide choice of mains made an easy selection for all, with excellent presentation, very good serving size and great tasting. My choice was Linguini Marinara which was superb. A good range of desserts & coffees rounded out a fantastic evening.

A bit disappointed in cafe 57 as it's so touch and go sometimes can be amazing and other times feel as though they need areas of improvement. I went today and although busy it wasn't full, decided against food as there's not many options when you don't eat eggs so just got a coffee and still had to wait 30mins to receive a wrong order and have it made again. Some of the staff seemed flustered and I overheard an apology of "so sorry we're smashed it won't be long" yet it wasn't overly busy.l and their appeared to be plenty of staff. The toilets are always clean and most of the times I have been have been really happy with the food but won't actively seek out going as a regular but from time to time think it's worth while .

The staff are the stars of this show. ... no wait.. the food is the star.. no, it's a tie.. for first place.. food and service are tip top. great ambiance and a sense of community that I really enjoy every time I go there. Thanks 57 Cafe Bar Restaurant, you're a credit to our little community.

Went for lunch on 3rd January. Food was below average. Bowl of hot chips were extremely stale with a strange dry texture. We also purchased a cheesecake (take away). Cheesecake was hard and leathery the berry’s on top the same. I realize cake orders etc probably haven’t been placed for the new year but shame on you for selling old food products to customers who are loyal.
