The one star I have awarded this car park is for its great location. Other than that, it should be viewed as last resort option. Entry from Tibb St is easy enough, signs aren't overly clear about charges and how/where to pay when you drive in, but it's once inside that you realise why it might not be a good idea to park there. It's dark, it feels dangerous, there were a few unsavoury characters milling around. The smell, no, stench, of urine in the stairwells is appallingly overwhelming, quite horrific. It must be topped up several times a day. It's as sharp and rank as the dirtiest of mens urinals. Graffitti, damage, yellow prison style bars across the entrance, poor lighting. It feels like the set of a Death Wish movie. It is horrifically overpriced considering just how awful it is. Furthermore they now have a "guess how long you're going to be system" with ANPR cameras and a litigious fines department, they are doing everything they can to make it easier to incur a penalty charge. It should be illegal how they operate, but there you go, it isn't. I wouldn't park there and would urge any maps users to try literally anywhere else before chancing this place and rewarding the craven operators of such a dank urine stained hell-hole.

Great location for Northern Quarter bars and restaurants. A bit pricey ... but I feel on a par with Manchester City centre prices. A bit "pongy"... but then again I was not there for a picnic.. just parking g the car. It is tight .. spaces are not a bad width, but with our medium sized SUV it was a task to get onto the up and down ramps when there were cars sticking out. Very tight But have used it twice .. and will probs use it again Pay on the app so you can extend your parking time rather than guessing how long you are going to be ... seems to have a few options of app

I haven’t used the car park as I opt for pay and display, however I love the ever changing graffiti art displayed around the car park. It’s great for photography and the area is rich in trendy alternative culture!

From the outside, it has the look of a very large public toilet, which helps prepare you for the smell when you get inside as that's exactly what your nose is assaulted with. The odour of stale urine permeates the air. Tight corners and the heavily gouged concrete at the top of every ramp speak of a poorly designed claustrophobic space that has clearly claimed many a bumper, body panel and alloy wheel. The only cameras are there to makes sure the super slow machines don't get vandalised and to catch your numberplate in case you dare to miscalculate how long you'll stay (yep you guess how long you'll need to park when you arrive, rather than paying before you leave). Someone bumped my friend's car while it was left there and no note was left or footage captured (like I said no cameras to protect you or your car). Park elsewhere if you value your vehicle, personal safety, or nostrils!

Someone tried breaking into the car with a crow bar. Completely damaged door. No cctv either. Avoid parking here

Prices are wayyy high - it's no wonder it was almost empty. Public stairways could do with a clean - if I'm paying these high prices I expect high standards.

Quite a lot of space. However, be careful when to turn to go upstairs and downstairs. The ramps are a bit narrow.

Don't pay at the pay point, it's a lottery to select the time you want, I ended up paying £20 instead of £6 so use app. It's quite tight in there and it's not maintained at all so don't leave anything valuable in sight.

This is a poor excuse for a carpark. It’s unsafe and unmanned. Silly use of traffic cones greet you as soon as you drive in, followed by some tight ramps. There’s a complete lack of signage for the EV chargers, and when you find them, there’s not enough and they don’t work! The carpark is badly lit throughout and feels really unsafe. As a man I felt unsafe! Poor quality and lack of signage throughout. The exits are locked for no known reason, which is frustrating. Rubbish, graffiti and the smell are overwhelming. Lifts, stink and don’t work. You feel dirty touching anything here! While parking here is great for the location, it’s a outrageously poor experience. Not coming here again!!!

This is not an NCP Car Park anymore. It is proudly belongs and is managed by Manchester City Council. They charge residents a whooping £1250 for the annual parking permit. If you live in the city centre you have no choice. The parking is full of drug users at night. Stairs smell of stale urine and cannabis. What a shame MCR city council with all the money you charge.

Someone smashed our passenger side front window and stole things out of the console: phone charger ($6 on sale), old fanny pack, flash light, glasses ($520). Whole day wasted on getting new window! That said, the people at the car park were really helpful thru the whole thing. Left us a note in the car telling us what to do, had us park in a safer area afterwards, etc.

Pretty car park which fits in with the trendy surroundings. Smells like urine in the stairway, all the time. Lovely view from the top until the security guard asks if you've paid to be there.

Not much to say, it's a carpark. Found a parking spot really easy, and paying was easy enough. No tickets, just works off camera. Although there was a man being attended to by paramedics in the stairway, while his drunk friend was stumbling about. It was 11am in the morning. Also, some guy had a little stall he set up in the parking lot with all soft toys on it. OK maybe there was quite a bit to say after all. 😂

Overpriced parking in a useful central location but has a feel of being unloved and somewhat seedy. Beware of the huge concrete sides on the very narrow ramps between floors if not your parking could turn out to be a more costly experience than it already is.

Do not park here. I felt so unsafe. I parked there today with my baby in a buggy - one lift is so vandalised it doesn’t work and the other had someone asleep in it surrounded by drug paraphernalia. It’s a convenient location but it’s not worth cost for how dodgy it is.

It's a dump! It's dark, it looks like a prison and it smells like a toilet. Not a good start for someone's first visit to Manchester. The only reason we parked here is because I'm disabled and need to be close to shops. It hasn't encouraged me to visit again.

Expensive, Insecure, and no lighting, it seems an urinal with all the awful smells, the elevators look like they are going to fall in any moment. I truly can’t understand how a place like this is still working. And as if none of this were enough it has an horrendous system of parking which is poorly described by some hidden signs.

Don't park here but if you do remove all valuables. Two lads were checking every car door on every floor during the day. Doesn't help that it stinks of urine and it's so tight unless you're driving a Renault Twizy.

Be careful to read signage here, it is a pay and display rather than them using the barriers to give a ticket on entrance. We saw many cars with parking fines so they're happily doing this and the security of the place is severely lacking like most of the other comments have mentioned in the reviews. Cost as well is extortionate and may as well go park slightly outside of manchester.

Used this car park regularly as the early bird rate of £6 for 12 hours was good considering the location. HOWEVER, now that this rate has increased to £8 in the space of just a week i won't be using any more! Tip - use the Printworks car park instead. £5.50 day rate and much cleaner and more secure - you'll be amazed at the difference.

Beware of parking in this place. Had our back window smashed and a few bags of baby clothes and the babies nappy bag taken out the back. No cctv and although security were helpful and appologetic, we still paid over £20 to park here overnight and had to cancel our weekend plans to get it sorted.

Don’t park here if you respect your nostrils. It smells so bad it was unbearable and it looks like the set of a horror movie.

  • 1/5 Maarten H. 1 year ago on Google
Tight, dark, horrible smell on the stairwell. Be sure to pay up-front instead of, what I'm used to, afterwards. Although, if you stay for a longer period, you can take a chance because the parking fee and fine will be pretty much the same amount.

Very central location for visiting Manchester. Extra height clearance compared to other car parks. Main entrance is off Tib Street, look out for the following street art as a guide.

A 1970s classic. Tight corners with paint scuffs, tiny spaces, foreboding atmosphere, out-of-service lift, scary stairwell, obligatory smell of disinfectant almost masking the stale urine, poorly lit, no apparent attendant. Worth a visit in its own right if you are a fan of retro parking.

Do not use the EV Charging stations. They are a complete waste of time unless you have an account. Could not get the app to work. Totally useless. Someone needs to sort this out.

Absolutely reaks of piss. The gaffs rotten, makes you feel dirty once you've parked there. They've just whacked the all day rate up by over a third which is a joke. Other than that decent location.

There wasn't enough space to turn the car; I almost scratched it while turning right to go to the upper floor.

🫤 Despite what google says, the free drop off car park is open but it is now 'on demand' but it took 3 calls over half an hour before a bus came. Can't help but think it is just a way to force you to join in with the chaos at the terminal and pay for the privilege. Poor show MCR
