I've
had
dental
procedures
done
in
California,
Cancun
and
Rio
de
Janeiro,
so
I
consider
myself
somewhat
of
an
experienced
and
selective
patient.
At
DentalMed
I
had
an
implant
done
at
the
Primaverii
office,
and
fillings
at
the
Calea
13
Septembrie
office.
The
DentalMed
experience
has
been
excellent.
TL;DR
-
everything
was
top-notch,
and
the
only
suggestion
I
had
was
to
employ
more
intraoral
cameras
so
to
patient
could
see
more
easily
than
with
mirrors.

I
found
DentalMed
thanks
to
the
great
reviews
on
international
clinics
rating
site
GCR.org.
They
aren't
GCR
accredited
yet
(for
what
that's
worth),
but
were
better
organized
than
Bucharest
British
Dental
Place,
and
specialized
in
dentistry
(vs.
House
of
Beauty).
The
DentalMed
offices
are
top-notch:
🦷
one-stop
shop
-
imaging,
dentistry,
medications
(in
Rio
I
had
to
go
to
a
separate
provider
to
get
X-rays;
in
California
I
had
to
fill
my
prescription
at
a
pharmacy)
✨sleek
modern
interior
design
(check
out
the
restroom
sink
design!)
👩🏻⚕helpful,
courteous
and
attentive
staff
🦾
high-tech
throughout
(first
time
I
saw
an
automatic
shoe
cover
machine)
⚕
everything
was
spotlessly
clean,
and
Covid
protocols
were
carefully
followed.
The
mandibular
implant
procedure
was
performed
by
Dr.
Matei
Traistaru.
Everything
was
explained
to
my
satisfaction
(inasmuch
as
oral
surgery
is
a
predictable
science),
I
was
given
a
quote
for
the
procedure,
which
was
respected,
and
I
was
out
in
40
minutes
(!).
Not
a
unique
experience
-
the
patient
before
me
was
treated
just
as
fast.
The
procedure
was
surprisingly
painless
-
a
topical
anesthetic
followed
by
an
analgesic
injection.
After
the
implant
Dr.
Traistaru
explained
the
aftercare
protocol,
wished
me
"Doamne-ajuta"
("God
help")
and
I
was
given
a
care
package
including
ice
packs,
medication,
chocolate
and
champagne
(!)
and
assigned
a
concierge
for
any
follow-up
questions.
The
cost
for
the
implant
alone
(without
the
crown)
was
7150
RON
(EUR
~1450),
out
of
which
the
Neodent
Grand
Morse
Straumann
implant
was
780
EUR
and
the
bone
graft
was
2750
RON
(EUR
~550).
Important
for
international
patients:
you're
not
tied
to
the
DentalMed
office
after
the
implant.
The
procedure
to
remove
the
sutures
in
2
weeks
is
optional,
as
they're
absorbable
(dissolvable
stitches).
You'll
also
be
given
an
implant
passport
that
details
exactly
the
type
of
implant
-
important
for
the
clinic
that
will
place
the
crown.
