I was supposed to stay for 3 nights at this hotel. I stayed for one night only due to the negative environment. Hospitality is really lacking at this hotel. I sat down in their restaurant to eat and waited about 15 minutes for a menu…this would’ve been okay if it was busy but there was only 4 tables occupied and two waiters. The waiter seemed annoyed that he had to serve me. I mentioned that I had half board and was wondering what on the menu was included. He showed me the menu for those that have meals included in their stay and unfortunately nothing on that menu sounded good. After a long back and forth he finally explained that I could order off the main menu as long as it didn’t exceed a certain amount. I ended up ordering ribs as I thought that would be a safe bet. The ribs were inedible fatty and the sauce was not good. My waiter never came back to see how I was doing…again this might have been okay if it was busy. I saw people going to the counter to say they were done with their meals so I did the same. The lady at the desk handed me a bill so I was confused since I had half board. I told her that two meals are included in my stay…she didn’t understand what I said. I had to get one of the ladies from the front desk to explain this. By then the waiter that was MIA finally reappeared and said that all I had to do was sign and I wouldn’t be charged. This was not explained to me at all. The waiter then stops me and says “what’s going on here” pointing at the food I didn’t eat. I said I couldn’t eat it and he had the audacity to ask me why I didn’t tell him. I was sitting at that table for about 30-45mins after my food was dropped off and my waiter never came back. I don’t even know what my waiter’s name is because he didn’t introduce himself but he needs lessons on how to interact with his customers. I’m not sure if the dinner menu changes from day to day but the selection wasn’t great. There was a staff member that went around with a welcome gift to each hotel room which I thought was a nice gesture. It was a nice gesture but that’s all. I received a plate of wilted brown fruit and a stale piece of cake. The fridge in the room was the same temperature of a cooler. The water I put in there wasn’t even cold the next morning. I asked the front desk if they had any tours available. I wasn’t given any recommendations only a pamphlet which didn’t give prices. When I checked out early no one seemed to care and no one asked why. Overall, I would never come back and I would never recommend this place to anyone. 0/5 stars is my true rating.

2 stars hotel with 5 stars prices. Bad things: - Tiny rooms, around 12sqm (room itself). Do not trust the data "offered" in hotel website saying "the Melia room is 24 sqm". - Furniture is already outdated (see picture of the chair and its "ecological leather" that was peeling in zillions of small pieces all around the room) - Towels are old and tired (see picture with one of them) - Reception staff is most of the time incompetent, especially middle management that is completely unprofessional. - Restaurant is not recommended. I had and octopus marinated salad that was not eatable and a steak coming from the oldest cow in the Univers... - Cleaning average, I stayed two weeks and one time I was asking for vacuuming because of the zilions pieces of "ecological leather". The answer was that the vacuum cleaner is not used for cleaning (?). When I was insisting, the lady in charge started to pick the small parts one by one, using the fingers... - Other amenities: Fridge was far of doing its job, Flushing the toilet was not as expected, many times the water continues to come without ever stopping automatically. Acceptable things: - Breakfast - Quietness - Part of the staff, those on breakfast area and in the 16th floor bar. The only good thing: - Location. But this is intrinsec and not the merit of hotel management (which is, again, very poor)

Not even a smile on the face of the people at the reception. It was also difficult to communicate. 50.percent of good comments come when you are received by people with a smiling face. Need to train the staff a lot.

Very nice rooms, helpful staff and the breakfast is quite nice! Only the so called sky view bar would be better with a bit of a wider view over the city, and it is a bit slow. But as a hotel, loved it. Also great location.

Service: 1. Staff is brilliant and respectful 2. The place is comfortable and safe 3. Food is delicious 😋 4. However, there are some restrictions that embarrass the guests, such as the prohibitions to grab some food as takeaway. It was really embarrassing for some of our team members. It should be revised!

This is supposedly a four star hotel, but staying in it you wouldn’t know. The worst value for money of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. On the surface everything looks fine, even posh, but scratch slightly and this place is rubbish. A short list of everything wrong with it: 1) I found a bloodstain on my pillow - they had put a clean pillowcase over it to hide the stain; 2) found a bloodstain on the sheet; 3) the sheets were rough, poor quality, and clearly cheap; 4) the bed itself was hard as a rock; 5) the bathroom had a weird smell; 6) the towels were thin, small and cheap - one bath mat was threadbare and had a hole in it; 7) the wifi was abysmal - slow and unreliable; 8) the light switches are all finicky, but in my room, the one for the bedside light was falling out of the wall; 9) weird stains in the carpet; 10) furniture in the rooms of poor quality - the faux leather of the desk chair was disintegrating and got all over my clothes; 11) the breakfast was foul - the very few choices included: stale pastry, rubbery chicken sausage, gritty scrambled eggs, tasteless fruit, burnt coffee, etc.; 12) the rooftop bar was disappointing - nice view but the drinks were sweet and of low quality and the burger they brought was dry, cold and covered in plasticky cheese with no sauce; 13) turns out the “health club” is the gym next door that you have to buy a voucher to use (about £25); 14) you’re only permitted one 500ml bottle of cheap water per day - when I ran out and asked for more water, they sent me a 1L bottle through room service and charged me 600mzn (£7.4)!!! 15) standard business hotel toiletries weren’t available including shower caps or shoe mitts; 16) no iron or ironing board available The staff were perfectly pleasant, but this place is clearly being mismanaged. The neighbourhood is convenient for offices and meetings, but otherwise boring with no cafes or food options. Stay anywhere else in Maputo. I’ve stayed at other places in the city that are half the price but twice as nice.

Spent a whole afternoon there, in meetings. Bar service was great, great staff, great coffee😀. Great environment for business meetings, at the same time chill. I recommend!!!!

Clean but rather compact rooms (saw 3 different ones). Toilets even more compact (you might struggle if you're a tall person). Choose a bay view room if you can. Those offer a relatively nice view of Maputo Bay. 'City view' means you'll be looking out at a multi-storey parking lot if you're in the lower floors or dilapidated apartment buildings if you're on the upper floors. Avoid room numbers ending in 00 unless you don't mind the noises from the elevator bay. There's a bar with nice views of the bay on the 16th floor. Great place to chill. Breakfast is a buffet. There is no egg station but you can order from the kitchen. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Bear in mind that not everyone speaks English.

Very nice hotel, clean and well kept. The only thing is the standard rooms are small. The restaurent has a decent menu but lacks options in my opinion. Very well located, close enough to the airport and close to a mall with a supermarket as well as Zambi which is a good restaurent for a work meet if needed.

Went to The SkyBar and my friends this is a hidden gem in Maputo! The view, the vibe, the service and i mean the food the only reason that refrains me from giving a perfect rating is the following: The first time i went it was unannounced i just went there with no reservation and it was amazing however, the second time they had the balcony closed due to a reservation or a party I do not remember it properly but it was on me because i had no reservation. Ok, soo i called the third time and had a table reserved for two before i went I called wanting to order ahead and for my surprise they had accepted a last minute reservation for the balcony or the outdoor space where my table was therefore asking me to sit inside, needless to say that was a no from my part. But the service was amazing I will admit and thank them for that.

Great location. Has a nice view in the rooftop bar. It’s chill and doesn’t have many people, good for a private chat and conversation, or a private gathering with friends. The pricing is reasonable and it’s quite delicious, but the waiting time could be improved. Waiters are also friendly and accommodate to your demands easily. I am sure you’d love the experience just as much. Recommend it

overall it is an ok hotel. One thing I really don't understand is there's only one bottle of water (500ml) for free every night and it is not fancy imported french mineral one but a normal retail one. Why a fout star hotel chooses to save a bit of operation cost and GREATLY undermine the customer experience. Don't understand it...

Awesome hotel, management & staff are amazing, friendly, very helpful and accommodating. A la Carte menu & quality was excellent. The DCP package food was good, could be better. Sky Bar has great views and great bar tenders. 1 thing I might add for improvement is the breakfast buffet, my stay was for more than 1 week and the breakfast selection was the same everyday, this could be changed. Please consider leaving an iron and ironing board in each room. Other than that, I was very happy with our stay.

👍👍 Spot where everybody meets everybody. Great beers, pizzas and appetizers. The service is a bit slow and could be improved.
