👍👍 Sandwich Saigon used to serve meat but has recently become fully vegetarian in Feb 2023! Almost everything can be made allium-free, as alliums are usually only added at the end of the dish preparation. Apart from the cheese sandwich, all dishes are vegan by default unless you add-on eggs or cheese.... People often mention vegetarian, vegan, banh, Vietnamese, tofu, bread, rolls, spring, order, options,

Sandwich Saigon used to serve meat but has recently become fully vegetarian in Feb 2023! Almost everything can be made allium-free, as alliums are usually only added at the end of the dish preparation. Apart from the cheese sandwich, all dishes are vegan by default unless you add-on eggs or cheese. There are more whole-food dishes featuring mushroom and tofu, as well as plant-based alternatives such as 'chicken', 'luncheon meat', 'tuna', etc. Some drinks contain dairy and/or honey, but they also have an oat milk option. Do note that there is Buddhist chanting/music playing softly in the background at the shop. Apart from this shop at East Coast Road, they also have a cloud kitchen concept at Bistro Bytes within i12k Katong shopping mall a few minutes' walk away.

Sandwich Saigon converted to a pure vegetarian restaurant a week ago for religious reasons. We saw many customers coming in and leaving a bit confused. But we are not complaining 🤣 We love Vietnamese food and really happy there's vegetarian one at Katong now. The pho and bahn mi tastes great, the downside is that it's abit pricey.

We frequented this restaurant when they were still meat-based, and recently returned after they converted to a full vegetarian menu. The banh mi was tasty but a tad small. Love the texture of the bread. My wife enjoyed the dry noodles with vegetarian spring roll very much. They have a wide range of items to try.

Been loving their food since before they changed to become a vegetarian restaurant, the quality has stayed the same since their switch. Bread is still so fresh and has a great crunch while being chewy, perfect banh mi bread.

Friendly owners. Banh mi was a real shocker. Petite and loosely packed, what more for $8. Had better.

My favourite Vietnamese joint along East Coast Road! Pho is light & delicious, their baguettes are AMAZING. One of the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had. Prices are reasonable too! Place is fuss-free, and because of pandemic regulations you order by scanning the QR code on the table. Food is prepared quickly and fresh. They’re also super vegan-friendly and have tasty vegan options! Their vegan tuna banh mi is 👌🏽

3.5-4 stars. Above average Vietnamese cafe along East Coast Road. Food quality: Food was fresh but could find fresher alternatives. Food portion / Price: Filling though prices are higher than similar stores perhaps due to location. Banh Mi / Bread $8-9+. Bread was average. Around $11+ for a dish, filling but probably slight lay better than average. Crowd: Expect some crowd especially during meal time. Food delivery: GrabFood, FoodPanda. Payment: Card, Cash.

One of the best bahn mi in the east. Crispy bread and full of flavor. They do run out of bread closer to closing time so better to check with them if you’re there after dinner time.

Their 101 Saigon Banh-mi is the best I’ve ever had. Better than in Vietnam. Especially the baguette is so crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. Do add extra paté as it’s not standard.

I agree with most reviewers- probably the best banh mi in the east! It was $23 for 2 banh mi and 1 viet coffee. Coffee tastes more like dairy farm chocolate milk and we were q disappointed. However, the baguette is phenomenal so do check it out! I found the pork chop one better than their Saigon special.

Really love this restaurant! There is vegetarian options and among them, I like the dry noodles with mushroom and tofu the most! The variety of ingredients is huge and the sauce is sweet and savoury, which is sufficient to mix with all ingredients and the white noodles. Do consider giving it a try!

atmosphere was rather quiet when we were there which is nice weekends tend to be slightly busier. Food is really good though, both the beef and pork options are well marinated. we got the bun cha (well sorta bun cha) which came with spring rolls. the rolls appear to be yam based they were crispy and well done. serving portions were of good size and would certainly come back again to try other options.

Highly recommend - great food and quick service. We dined in and had the lemon iced tea, with mushroom & tofu banh mi, veggie mushroom & tofu mala pho, and vegan 3-mushroom & tofu pho ❤️

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Delicious and affordable food and perfect for vegetarians or vegans. The bread is so delicious. The food options are amazing, I’ve never been disappointed by this place. I eat here about once a week now. It has a strong family business vibe and the service is really fast. Great place for a quick delicious and affordable dinner. Perfect for dine in or delivery.

Hole in the wall outlet that dishes out affordable Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi), coffees and noodle dishes. This is a great option if you are a vegan too as they have a separate vegan menu. We were looking for a quick bite when we were in the area and decided to head down here. There are 2 outdoor tables whilst the inside seating area was around 70% full on a Friday evening. You go to the counter, collect your order number/QR and place your order through the QR. Then, collect the order and pay when your number is up. We ordered the following - 1) Pork meatball banh mi - Ordered this with extra omelette and cheese. Love how crunchy the bread is, not soft and cold like some versions we found in Hanoi. The quantity of meat is just ok, adding the omelette and cheese makes a big difference. 2) Drip coffee (hot) - Strong Vietnamese coffee. However, they served the condensed milk separately. I prefer the condensed milk at the bottom of the mug, so it mixes better with the coffee. 3) Lychee Yogurt Drink - Cool drink for a warm evening.

Great service and the food came out promptly through the qr code ordering at the table. The portion size of the sandwich was smaller than I would have liked. Would come back for vegetarian food.

Very good place for tasty vegetarian Vietnamese food. You can't go wrong with this place. I have eaten there a few times and absolutely love it. They also have non-vegetarian options.

Got a bowl of dry vermicelli w fried spring rolls. Thought the spring rolls will just be regular spring rolls filled w carrot and shredded veg (most spring rolls are vegetarian) but no, it was sth else which I couldn’t tell - the filling had the texture of ‘minced meat’, maybe made of yam? They were freshly fried and tasted super crispy. The bowl came with a right amount of veg to vermicelli ratio.

Best banh mi I've had in Singapore. Just the bread itself is a winner. Amazing flavours for a vegetarian restaurant. My go to order is the tofu and mushroom Banh mi, can't possibly go wrong with that. Super chill vibes and friendly staff. QR order and pay at the counter when collecting your food.

Rating the food purely based on the mushroom and tofu vegetarian pho. It's really average and not the most bang for buck at $12 (+$2 for egg) but I went for it as I was craving something soupy. Nevertheless, I'd still be back to have my fill of vegetables and to try other stuff! Ambience wise, this place is on its way to becoming thich nhat hanh's monastery food hall. The Buddhist mantra playing in the background creates an air of reverence; evoking a sense of decorum. I'd imagine that any noise made in this eatery feels disrespectful. It'd be nice if the space was kept secular and casual so people can just have a hearty meal with friends. Cheers!

Heard from my friend about this place. Finally make my way here. The pho and sandwich are good indeed. Will come back for more.

Randomly dropped by to try due to reviews. Was surprised to find that they are fully vegetarian. Still didn't disappkint tho. Even my meat loving husband enjoyed his vegan meat burger here. Ordered their standard chicken bahnmi which was great! The bread was nicely toasted, crunchy yet still soft and nicely balanced with the vegetables. Their spring rolls are also really good!! Definitely recommend this place.

I've always loved Sandwich Saigon, and was surprised to know they are now a fully vegetarian eatery. Run by a humble Vietnamese family, Banh Mi is always great here. Mushroom and tofu has always been my go-to, and it's served vegan unless you opt for the addition of egg omelette and cheese. End it with an Iced Vietnamese Coffee and it's just a really scrumptious meal. Sure, it's a little pricey, but so are the cafés in this area.

Very delicious meals! It’s tasty, light, and is pretty healthy! The Banh Mi is our favourite (the vegan chicken one especially) with the baguettes freshly toasted! Seriously delicious. The dried rice noodles dish was lovely, as well as the Mala Pho (not spicy). Definitely worth the visit to support them. Restaurant is pretty small.

The food is simply amazing, the banh mi is truly authentic, and felt like I was eating one in Vietnam. The other dishes were also amazing. Not expensive. Good value for money. Service is good too . The best thing is it is a vegetarian and vegan place.

got the viet rolls, ice coffee and 3 bowls of pho (forgotten to take photo of it). Waiting time, really took quite a while. Pho: to me, it’s quite meh, average taste Rolls: 10/10 love the sauce Ice coffee: just your overprice coffee Overall experience, giving a 4 star!

Had the rare beef pho ($13.90) and found the broth to be too sweet for my personal liking. While I’ve had better and more affordable pho around town, I really like the tender beef that was topped with this bowl. Happy to see that there were vegan options for their pho & sandwiches though! Just order and pay through the QR on each table and look out for your number to be called on the screen. Remember to clear up after yourselves! ✌🏻
