Toronto's crown jewel of Chinese cuisine. Congee Queen has long been one of our family’s go-to restaurants. They have many GTA locations including the OG location at Steeles/404. It’s always crowded in the meal times. This time we enjoyed Cantonese classics : - Shrimp Wonton Soup: huge wonton balls - Seafood Chow Mein (Fried Noodles): crisp noodles loaded with seafood & sauce on top - Spicy Fried Turnip Patties: always done-well - BBQ Pork & Roast Pork Platter: cut straight from tasty meats hanging at the BBQ counter The menu is extensive but well-executed for the classics. What keeps us coming back is the consistent flavor at an affordable price point.

Food is great! Authentic Chinese flavours. And the servings are huge!! One order is good enough for 2 or 3 persons! Overall, it’s a must try.

We went here when it was busy. The restaurant was clean dispite the crowd and the prices were decent. Good tea too. However the service was not good. We didn't really like our first dish much so we ordered something else. We specifically asked for fried chicken but got the same thing. That dish upset my stomach, but I bet their other dishes would have been better if we got the chance to try them.

Decent value weekday Afternoon Tea menu Congee Queen location located in south Thornhill right by 404 and Steeles Avenue East. A better Congee Queen location that serves Cantonese rice/noodles dishes. Afternoon Tea takes place Mon to Fri 3-5pm with free hot/cold beverage. There are a variety of dishes to choose from. Servers are efficient and courteous. Decor is still contemporary even though it hasn't been updated in many years.

Pretty good food and lots of options. Very popular so they tend to be quite busy. It's recommended to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid the wait. The lobster congee was surprisingly good. The General Tsao and beef stir fry were very flavorful as well. The flavors are fairly consistent with other Congee Queen. Would recommend and come back again.

My first time at this Congee Queen Location. I like this one better than the Location at Center Mall. It is cleaner, It looks newer and it has more natural light. Good customer service and nice food. Great congee!

a classic, a staple. if you're asian, this is the place you grew up at. coming here and ordering food without your mom is a bit scary but once you figure out the menu items, you got it. food was generously portioned and filling as usual. definitely more of a family banquet style so recommended more for larger group hang outs.

Dropped in for lunch with a friend to see what all the hype was about. Did not disappoint at all. Good service, cool ambiance, massive portions and delicious food. They have a pretty massive menu and I only got to try a few items so far but definitely recommend. Would go back for more.

Everything was very good. Seafood congee is very good. The roasted duck is amazing. Roasted pig is also very good. The wait staff is very friendly. I spilled my drink and they give me a another one for free. Will definitely go back and try some different dishes. So many things we wanted to try!

A nice modern casual Cantonese dinning joint, great food at great prices, nice big servings family style, featuring mainly Cantonese stir fries, congee, noodle & rice dishes, also limited pan-Asian cuisine such as Thai & Singapore, efficient fast piping hot service, helpful staff.

Here for Father’s Day dinner around 5 pm with reservations for 10. Our server was on point with getting our order, plus being attentive. We just a problem with the amount of food, and not having enough space on our table to place them all. We order the 6 person set menu with additional sides. -Crab meat with fish maw thick soup (8/10) -Stir fried lobster with ginger and green onion (7/10) amount of meat was not worth the price plus the taste. -Garoupa with bean curd in hot pot (7/10) -BBQ duck (half) (10/10) -Stir fried beef with broccoli (6.5/10) just a plain beef stir fried with broccoli. -Minced Pork. Fry fish with olive and green onion (7/10) -Fried sweet and sour chicken (9.5/10) made perfectly, besides it could of been more crunchy. -Complimentary Dessert (4/10) this dessert was a red bean curd with sago but lack the sweetness/tasted watered down. Additional items being -Snow pea leaf with king mushroom (8/10) -Steamed yellow chicken (7/10) -Salt and pepper squid (8/10) -Beef stir fried pho noodles -Lemon ice tea (3/10) being too water down. All the items were good in their own ways, but some items did lack the last touches to make them great. Vibe was also warm and welcoming as your surrounded with a lot of people with big families eating all together.

One of our new favorite spots. The portions are huge (for sharing) as expected and the food is very very delicious. The place itself is huge and has a lot of seats inside and outside, and the servers are all sweet. Been there twice now and will be returning regularly

Back for the first time after a 18+ month hiatus due to covid-19. All the protocols were followed including taking a name and number down. They even scold the older patrons for not wearing their mask! Food is still good and portions are still massive. Our food seemed to glisten with oily Chinese goodness, more than usual!

It’s not easy to keep the food quality high yet the price low. Congee really is amazing, plus the delicious turnip cake, well balanced in flavor! It costed us 23 dollars on average person.

Food is awesome! Very flavorful, and nice portions. Very quick service, food is promptly served. Atmosphere is a bit loud , probably because they are extremely busy. If you are looking for a great tasting meal and quick service this is a must. Enjoy!

Delicious food! Fast service. Had the lobster efu noodles, which had a lot of oil. Empress fried rice with eel/crab/fish roe was good. The crab meat/fish maw congee had great flavors with perfect consistency!

Pretty good place with very decent food, Every tasted good and they are a good portion too. kid friendly I would say, ( when we were there we encounter at least 8 kids) only problem is the diaper changing table, is only at women’s bathroom. Guess changing diaper is only a women’s job

These are really well seasoned, perfectly cooked, large proportions of Chinese dishes. There wasn't anything that was too salty, bland, over or undercooked. The Assorted Fungus and Six-Grains Congee is good to eat on its own or with other meat or veggie dishes. Rice rolls were super soft and packed with stuffings. Would love to try other dishes next time.

A very good Hong Kong style restaurant. Despite an affordable price, the food is good and the quantity is big. It's interesting to notice that there are a lot of parking places.

Congee Queen always hits the spot! Everything I’ve eaten here has been tasty. During my last visit, really liked the house seafood and mixed veg vermicelli, fried rice noodle with shrimp and egg, and pork and preserved egg congee. Fried chili turnip patties are a must! Service is not the friendliest but they are extremely fast. I’ve never spent longer than an hour at the restaurant. Fair portions and prices.

Food is average. Some were pretty good and some not as good. I do come back frequently when I was something quick and decent to eat since their service is always fast.

Ordered the seafood congee, chicken fried rice, and Chow Mein. All the food was good, fast and good service The portion sizes are amazing and really large (family sizes), and the restaurant itself does get pretty busy on afternoons weekends. I would recommend this food for groups. They also serve bubble tea as well, which is really good. Located in the restaurant, they have a take-out area with BBQ duck, pork, and so on.

One of our go-to Congee Queen locations due to proximity, but also because the restaurant is spacious and has ample parking outside. It can get busy if you're dining in, so be prepared to wait if it's peak hours during evenings or weekends. We also sometimes do takeout, which is very popular too. The service is generally efficient, and the food quality, though sometimes inconsistent, is pretty good. They have a good variety of lunch sets and afternoon tea (3-5pm) deals, as well as other menu items, so there's something for everyone.

Congee Queen is a full service Chinese Restaurant (Cantonese) that serves several Thai and Vietnamese dishes. With 9 locations in the GTA, there is one in a neighbourhood near you. The dish, Congee is also known as rice porridge. It is a comfort food people usually consume for breakfast or brunch. It comes in various flavours. It's easy to digest, so people consume it when they need to warm up, are slightly hungry or are feeling unwell. Congee Queen recently came up with an mobile ordering app. They have an introductory promotion, if you use it in the month of September 2022, you get a free spring roll if you order over $40 before taxes. When you sit at the table at the restaurant, you can actually order your food with your mobile phone by scanning the displayed Table QR code. They activated this service during the pandemic to minimize interactions between the Servers and Guests for dine in safety reasons. Note the restaurant at this time no longer social distance their tables and are able to operate at full capacity. It is conveniently located on the outskirts of Shops on Steeles and 404. It's accessible by the TTC because it's right on Don Mills Road and Steeles. There are washrooms available on site and ample parking spaces. Be aware you can grocery shop, get gasoline and do banking at Shops on Steeles and 404. 1) Fried Fish (with bones) with ginger and green onions in Hot Pot. 2) Taiwanese Assorted Seafood Vermicelli 3) Beef with mushrooms and green onions served in a sizzling hot plate. Their printed menu is available on their website with current pricing. They also sell various party trays and have lunch combos. You can either pay by cash with a 5% discount or pay by credit card. The ATM is within walking distance. You can actually see it from one of the restaurant's windows.

Visiting Toronto and decided to have dinner at congee queen with family. Never been to a Chinese restaurant where every table ordered fried rice. When the food came I understood why, the portion was huge (as well as the other dishes) and was really good. Price was really reasonable. Would highly recommend.
