This is not your ordinary restaurant. The food here is packed with flavor, complemented with top notch customer service. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary here, they had reserved the best patio seat for us! Our fish and lobster pasta was a celebration in mouth with every bite. Highly recommend a visit 🙌🏼

It was my first time visiting the restaurant. I did not like their outside seating option under the tent. They do not have high chairs for kids so my baby ate food sitting in her stroller. I think the food tasted ok but the prices were too high compared to food quality. I do not like to try it again as for the price and service quality and atmosphere I think there are way better options! If customers are being seated outside then they have high expectations due to the price they’re paying for, so the cold and lonely atmosphere and awkward feeling of being alone and so distant from your interior restaurant experience doesn’t encourage my family and I to return here again. Please invest some money in high chairs or tell us so we don’t come in with our children and feel awkward feeding my them in their strollers! She wasn’t comfortable at all!!! I think the lamb and lobster dish were just way too overpriced. Lobster dish was mainly noodles and tomatoes ...

Every dishes prepared deliciously! Philoxenia Special, Paella, Rib eyes steak, Lamb Shank! We had a great dinner gather here. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Philoxenia just took top spot as my #1 Greek restaurant and one of the best restaurants in the city. What a gem, the owner is fantastic and also a gem! The beet salad, ribs, chicken and desserts are all a must try. Truly unforgettable dining experience, inside and out! Everything is delicious! See you soon!

Good food & great service!! The staffs were warm & very welcoming . Good experience overall. We had an amazing dinner last week with a party of 10. Loved their flaming cheese and grilled octopus. Lamb chops were perfectly cook and full of flavour. Will definitely be visiting again!

We were a party of 2, early on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted in an odd manner. The server/host had a weird reaction where he fussed about how we did not have reservations, walked frantically all around the restaurant, yet the restaurant was completely empty, and practically empty the entire time we were there. He checked with another guy They sat us in far back as possible and hid us from everyone. The service was awful except for this one new employee. We kept having to wait long intervals to be served. The cod dip was delicious, bread and red pepper dip was good. Our entrées were very salty, we got both the marinated chicken and Cornish hen. Chicken was cooked to perfection, veggie portions were pathetic, a single piece of broccoli , a small slice of pepper and 1/4 of a shaved carrot. The chicken was salty and bitter. Did not taste marinated for me. We didn’t even bother getting dessert at this point, it took 20 minutes to get our bill and pay for our food. We felt ignored the entire time. They also were not willing to split the bill between 2 people which is so odd in this day and age.

Amazing food. Amazing service. On the pricy side. We ordered the baked fish in salt. It was delicious. The only thing that I wasn't impressed is that I felt they took most of the fish back with them after they cleaned it.

Food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Price is on the high side but with valid reasons. We had beet salad, Greek sea salt baked fish (2 lbs Mediterranean seabass), lamb chops, and loukoumadis as dessert. All are delicious. I especially enjoyed the lamb chops. The baked fish's portion was small after having been deboned by the server. We reckoned that we should have asked to skip the deboning because we could handle fish bones very well ourselves.

Had a very nice dinner. The appetizers were very good. Excellent salad, pita and various dips along with some tasty saganaki cheese. The thin fried veggies - not as much of a hit. For the main course, I had the grilled fish of the day - Mediterranean sea bass - branzino I think - it was deboned (mostly) and cooked perfectly. Came with some delicious veggies and potatoes on the side. The wine selection was reasonably varied and moderately priced - there were 4 or 5 reds available by the glass. There were a few options for dessert and we tried two of them. The baklava was not a big hit with our group - served cool or cooled off by the ice cream - we tried another dessert - like a "knaffe" which was a bigger hit. Overall the service was excellent, the servings were generous, the food was tasty. I would be happy to go back.

One of the best Greek restaurants I’ve tried in Canada hands down. Every dish is packed with flavor leaving you wanting more. The mussels and octopus appetizers were an 11/10. Also the beet salad was a hit. The atmosphere is more of an authentic Greek fine dining vibe and not that casual. The only downside is that the service is slow and the food takes a while to come out. With that being said, I will still come back because how good the food was.

We had an amazing experience at Philoxenia . By far one of the most reliable restaurants in Toronto in terms of quality, service and overall ambiance. Their wine selection is exceptional and extensive. If you're a fan of oysters, this is probably the best spot for oysters in the city. The food is amazing , the service is great, the staff is very hospitable and accommodating as well.

Such a pleasant experience and a great evening. With awesome and friendly service, very good good and lovely and calm patio, it was an evening to remember. I truly appreciate your efforts in reopening and making our visit a good one. Be seeing you again guys. 10/10

It is difficult to choose a starting point since the experience overall was amazing… the food was in another level it really transported me to Greece! The service was outstanding, amazing like nothing you will experience in a regular place here in canada, the crew was extremely kind and welcoming… Everything was perfect, we loved it we will be coming there son and many more times.

Amazing food!! My husband took me to this restaurant last week. I can be a bit picky about food because I worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years. The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and great atmosphere. Kudos for however is running this restaurant.

Great dinner, very good experience and it is one of those restaurants that you want to come back and try something else from the menu. Although it may seem in the pricey side, it is a great place. I tried the lobster and shrimp pasta and was delicious. Will recommend the dessert menu, i.e. you must try pairing their loukumades with the vanilla ice cream!!!!

A very delicious dinner with great service. I only have one comment which might improve customer satisfaction. Having been to Greece and having eaten at many great Greek restaurants, when your main dish arrives at Philoxenia, the plate would look much better if it didn’t appear so Spartan. Meaning, for another dollar or two, why not place some rice, your beautiful potatoes and some veg organized to enhance the optics of the meal. Offering only one side that arrives on a separate plate seems like an idea that the Keg uses. Otherwise, very pleasant evening with great staff. Thanks

Stumbled across this restaurant, while my “usual go-to” greek restaurant were doing maintenance, and i’m glad that I did! This hidden gem been open slightly before the pandemic, and it’s certainly a top player within the greek cuisine in town! Warm, cozy ambiance, professional and upscale service, and the food quality is just superb! I highly recommend the calamari, saganaki and certainly the lamb shank!

My husband and I have been coming to Philoxenia since it’s opened and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently on point, the atmosphere both indoor and outside is warm and cozy. Staff has always been very friendly. We’ve brought our friends many times and have celebrated several special occasions here. It’s hard to pin point best dishes, because we like so many, but “Philoxenia special” appetizer is a must try! Oh, and make sure you don’t skip dessert: Loukoumades and baklava are to die for !!!

The food is so delicious. We had chicken dinner and barg kebab dinner with saffron rice and house salad. Everything cook to perfection and very friendly staffs. I wish I have taken a picture of the plates. We are not a big eater but we almost finished the whole thing. Well done and we will go back again.

I can’t talk enough about this restaurant. It’s by far the best restaurant ever I dined in Toronto in last 13 years. Foods are beyond delicious and taste like home-made food. Excellent service and hosting. I’d also like to thank Mrs Helena for excellent service provided for us and our guests and surprised my sister on her birthday with other staffs. If you are looking for Michelin experience with excellent taste, have to visit Philoxenia and you’ll continue to visit there frequently.

The food was amazing. Every single ingredient was fresh and unparalleled. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The service made sure we had everything we needed promptly, and they were happy with every one of our asks while making us feel like regulars.

Seafood pasta, out of this world. Great restaurant. Also highly recommend.

The ribs were mediocre. The lamb shank was just OK. The shrimp dish was very good. The chicken was done well enough. All in all, it was OK. However, I wouldn't rush back. There is a much better Greek restaurant about a 10 minute drive away. By the way, our server was very attentive and tried really hard to please us. I found the restaurant very noisy.

This is the first time I’ve been to it. I like it and definitely will go back. The deco is authentic, food is delicious and servers are very friendly. I particularly like the freshly baked bread and MELITZANOSALATA. I normally are not bread or fried vegetable person, but they are so yummy and I ate so much. The entree (paella) is also good. Loukoumadis maybe my least favourite dish of the night, but it is probably because I don’t like doughnuts type of desserts but thought I’d give it a try. I think next time, I will go for lava cake or chocolate mousse.

Arrived without a reservation. Seated promptly. Apparently about an hour before many customers showed up. Service was excellent. We had salad, spanakopita appetizer, and moussaka. Disappointed that various souvlaki options with rice and roasted potatoes were omitted from the evening menu. It is a Greek restaurant after all.

Just hosted my son's university grad party last night for our family of 35. I called the restaurant and spoke to Helena, who was professional helpful and accommodating. We ordered the dips with mounds of pita bread, Philoxenia special (a melange of thinly sliced, lightly battered and fried vegetables, not greasy at all, like chips, a big hit!), the fried calamari (so tender) the lemon chicken and the lamb (both so very tender), the rice and lemon potatoes, and Greek salad. In a word the food was outstanding! Everyone at Philoxenia, especially Helena, went above and beyond the call of duty! My entire family showered me with compliments as to the quality of the food. It was fresh and flavourful! We are Italian and compliments on food are hard to come by, so you know the food was good. Special thanks to Helena, she texted me later in the evening making sure everything went well. It did, thanks to Philoxenia! I would definitely recommend them for your catering needs, ask for Helena.

I recently had dinner there with my family and we had a gorgeous meal. Very authentic and oh so tasty. The owners are present to greet you and make sure you have a great experience. The service is perfect and not overpowering. It’s the type of place you can’t wait to get back to.

Definitely the best Greek food outside Greece. We ordered the lobster pasta and was not disappointed. The sauce is extremely flavourful and I just could not stop. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. Our family had a great time.

Great place for dinner, either its formal or family. We had my BD dinner with our family and friends in August and just had another one - our corporate year-end one. Everybody appreciates great food, some unusual dishes, and a big selection of recipes. The service and atmosphere are truly amazing and upscale. The prices are kind of a little above the average, but the cost to value ratio is excellent. So we are planning another family event there in a couple of weeks. Highly recommended!

Craved meet Satisfaction. The staff were very attentative and the food was very delicious. After a long time I had a great Calamari dish (must try) and the Lobster pasta... Yummy! The portions size are great. Just keep in mind that if you are taking a toddler with you, they don't have high chair or booster sit, it worked out for us as we kept our toddler busy with food and unfortunately videos on the phone. Philoxenia, you are on my fav list for sure and we will be back.

Philoxenia has the absolute best fish in Thornhill. It’s so light, flavourful and delicious - It’s my go to Greek restaurant. I also love their veggies, saganaki cheese and the bread with dips is really yummy. If you’re in a Greek mood, I’d highly recommend this restaurant. The service is great, staff very friendly and warm - they truly want you to have a lovely experience which I think is important when choosing somewhere to dine in or take out. I will definitely be back!

One of the best Greek restaurants north of the city located in thornhill. From the moment you walk in nicely greeted by the host and the serving staff are very friendly and warm. We ordered several appetizers including oysters saganaki calamari and a village salad. Everything came in perfectly with excellent flavors. For main dishes we ordered some more seafood and some lamb chops which were excellent and done to perfection. The desserts were just as good and we finished off with a beautiful Greek coffee. Highly recommended for a family function and or celebrating any special occasions. Next time I want to try the salted baked fish.
