The place is not too bad as the road is a bit wide bit one has to watch out for rough drivers and bike riders. One can also get good cheap clothes. There are motor parks there that can take one to almost everywhere in Nigeria, so giving it a 3 star is the best I can do.

Busy as ever, but beautiful to see members of NRSC keeping it under control. Motorists get to drive like sane people. Visiting was fun

Iconic monument, Food basket of the nation, Benue is a rich agricultural region; popularly grown crops include: oranges, mangoes, sweet potatoes, cassava, soya bean, guinea corn, flax, yams, sesame, rice, groundnuts, and Palm Tree. Traditionally farmers, Markurdi is the capital city

It's the iconic "food basket roundabout"... May not look like much but it is to Makurdi, what the Eiffel Tower represents to Paris. Easily one of the most recognisable symbols of the town for commuters and residents. It means "touchdown" for lots of us residents after the long journeys.

It wasn't a very pleasant experience as the roads were flooded and inaccessible for me. I couldn't lodge here afterall.

The food basket is located in this area which makes it a good place for any tourist who visit Makurdi, it symbolises the core occupation of our people and our pride in agriculture. The place also features many car parks, and garages. The place is also safe to visit since the locals are hardworking people who hardly steal. There is a lot of noice due to the parks and roadside markets but it's a good place overall.

Kinda new in Makurdi and I have to cross the round about anytime I go to work. It is always a struggle because it's so busy. You'd think it be easier since I'm based in lagos, but no. πŸ’€

Well structured and well structured roundabout that will leave you with no confusion concerning where you're going... And just in case you're driving be rest assured your locomotive won't bump into another.

It has a nice landmark, a sculpture of a platform with a basket containing food products on it. It's close to motor parks where you can get buses from Makurdi to states all over the country of Nigeria. It could look better if it is well maintained

Wurukum roundabout is usually very busy with traffic and vehicles. There should be a constant traffic warden to ease up the traffic congestion especially at morning Rush hours.

Wearing a nicelook with 5 exits. The centre of the roundabout is fashioned with the symbol of a Big Basket containing images of varieties of raw foods which Benue represents in Nigeria.

It's crowded most of the times. It really needs a flyover to ease the flow of traffic. A full clover leave would be a better projection considering the fucture

Nice and the busiest part of Makurdi. At times it becomes necessary to avoid it because of traffic gridlock, especially on weekends and during the festive periods.

Wurukum roundabout is not the same as it is in the photo now please. It has been renovated and is looking more standard now and I love the look of it. Thanks to the person who did the renovation.

This is a monumental and artistic view of the city. The Wurukum roundabout is significantly at the centre of the city. Which is a connecting point for those going to Gboko, lafia, Enugu. The roundabout with the food basket of nation symbolises the richness and cultural heritage of Benue in terms of food and beverage.

It's a very busy commercial area of makurdi town. 80% of big businesses and moto parks are located in this area of makurdi town.

Wurukum Roundabout is the biggest roundabout in Makurdi. It's the meeting point for vehicles navigating through Benue to states like, Calabar, PH, Enugu, Onitsha, Nasarawa, etc.

Good place but the major intersection leading to different locations out of Makurdi. At the completion of the expansion of the roads from Lafia to Makurdi it will become a bad place because of surge in traffic there. Unfortunately there's no over bridge nor other outlet.

Wurukum roundabout is not only a roundabout as it may seem but it's surrounded with numerous activities including motor parks (such as New Nyanya), Immigration office, filling stations, and so on. From the north, the roundabout takes you to River Benue, North Bank area of Makurdi, Daudu, and Nasarawa state. The Western part lead to High Level, Government House, IBB Square, CBN, Police Headquarters, and others. Through the South, it leads to multiple banks, NNPC filling station, Federal Medical Centre, Ikpayongo, Otukpo LG ( or other LGs areas of the state), and Kogi state. The Eastern axis leads to Living Faith church, Wurukum market, Benue Links, Pressure park, Benue State University, Airforce, Abinse, NYSC Camp, Dangote Cement, Gboko LG (many other LGs), Taraba state, Cross - River state, or Cameroon.

It's the most busy round about in Makurdi not far from River Benue. A flyover would have been the best.

Wurukum roundabout is probably the busiest spot in Makurdi metropolis. Cars coming in from the North through North Bank and those coming from the South, East, West, all negotiate the roundabout. Asides that, the popular commuter parks, namely, Benue links and Pleasure travels are located along the same axis. Local travelers heading towards Gboko and other local governments also follow the same route. All these has made the roundabout choked with human and vehicular movement. There is an urgent need for a flyover in order to have better flow of traffic in different directions.

It's supposed to be the monument of the city but it always seems defaced or in bad shape... Can't y'all post your bills elsewhere? All in all, I'd say this monument has seen better days...

It's the heart of the city of Benue state but a lot needs to be done by the concerned agencies to decongest the area to make it cleaner and more inviting to visitors alike

  • 5/5 Ibrahim Bello O. 10 months ago on Google
The roundabout serves as the connection between the north bank communities of the River Benue and the Wurukum city centre. It is a very vital point in the city. It also connects the High Level and Wadata area, making it one of the most essential parts of Makurdi city. In case of any traffic here, it will definitely affect most part of the city. Alternatively, one can follow the old North Bank road, which is lesser in traffic congestion and not also in good condition

Wurukun Roundabout is a well-designed and convenient transportation hub located in the heart of Makurdi, Benue state. The roundabout provides easy access to different parts of the city, making it a popular choice for commuters and travelers alike. One of the standout features of Wurukun Roundabout is its easy flow of traffic. The roads are well-maintained and the traffic signals are properly synchronized, ensuring a smooth and efficient movement of vehicles. This has significantly reduced travel time and made commuting through the roundabout a hassle-free experience. However, a major issue that detracts from the overall convenience of Wurukun Roundabout is the reckless and dangerous behavior of commercial motorcycle riders in the area. These riders move around with impunity, disregarding traffic laws and putting the safety of other road users at risk. Despite this downside, Wurukun Roundabout remains a convenient and efficient transportation hub that serves as a gateway to different parts of Makurdi. Its easy flow of traffic and accessibility make it a preferred choice for commuters and travelers who seek a stress-free commuting experience.

I don't hate the place. Former governor of Benue State, Gov. Suswam did a very good job uplifting the face of this roundabout.

Wurukum Roundabout comprises of: MAKURDI - GBOKO/KATSINA ALA road, MAKURDI - OTUKPO/ENUGU road, MAKURDI - LAFIA/ABUJA road, It also has an exit ONE WAY road, and Iyorchia Ayu (also known as OLD OTUKPO) road. With beautiful gigantic food basket built within the roundabout symbolizing the food basket of the nation. Food Basket of the Nation is the nick name of BENUE State. The people of the state are predominantly farmers, as such they produce good percentage of food consumed in the country

Like a normal busy round about, but with a tone of accidents, one or more accidents on a monthly basis, has traffic lights but out of use, people should be careful about this area at night as there have been reports of people getting robbed on a daily basis, some even get killed, police officers often come to that area but you can't count your luck on that because there are rarely seen, beside all of that, it provides a good view of 'The Food Basket Of The Nation' sculpture. This area also provides access to buses, and other means of public transportation for locals who are returning from work or the wurukum market, and also be aware that there are thieves and pick Pocketers around, so be extremely cautious

It can be better, I mean it's the state symbol so it could be. In the past this was ok but in this day it just gives this wrong vibe. A strict adherence to POST NO BILL must be enforced on it. No kind of political activity post or any other, except for a single sign that points directions.
