My visit to Lal Qila left me with mixed feelings. I tired their lunch buffet, while some dishes had authentic flavors, others fell short in terms of taste. The variety of options was decent and I enjoyed the Seekh kababs. The warm and welcoming ambience, coupled with attentive staff, made it a positive experience. It's a decent experience, very good for large groups.

The waitress was so humble and polite. Foods- not worth the hype. Chicken biryani was too salty. The BBQ platter was $39 yet not worth the money. I would rate 6/10 for the platter, mango lassi is a must try one if you're a sweet lover! Overall, for 2 persons it costed me $140 and my appetite was not satisfied. ⏱Serving time - approx 10-20 mins. It would be great if the owner look into the reviews and improve the quality of food and service.

We went here yesterday as a group and it was really nice. Authentic Pakistani food and very quite tasty! Most things are also gluten free friendly, which is very accommodating! I enjoyed everything I ate and for somebody with low spice tolerance, things were pretty good! Everything was good, except the price point was about high. They also charged for water, no free tap water. Otherwise, good experience !

Good food and service. Personally, it doesn’t feel authentically Pakistani as it tastes milder and reduced, but it’s still good. Seating and decor is nice. Don’t like the location as parking can be a hassle.

It used to be a very good restaurant. I had lunch once in 2020. Although I am Chinese, I can also taste the taste and quality of food. The experience in 2020 is unforgettable. So in 2022, my friend and I drove from North ryde to have lunch. As a result, there was only cheap buffer for lunch. Are you kidding? I remember that the theme of your restaurant is palace cuisine. Now your food has become shopping mall food court. But to be honest, your food is not as good as some Indian curry in food court. At the end of the terrible experience, we also got the symptom of stomachache. We all suffered from stomachache all afternoon. You guys have successfully tarnished the image of your restaurant and perfectly wasted our time and money and destroyed our day. What an outstanding job! Since you have positioned your restaurant as a food court, why do you want to operate in a place with such high rent? I forgot to take pictures of the food because we were so disappointed. But I can post some photos taken in 2020 to prove that I have been to this restaurant. I posted your food on my social media in 2020. But now........... good luck 👍

We dined here as a family the other night and overall we’re not impressed. We ordered the goat karahi and a dish from the bbq. The bbq dish only had 6 pieces of chicken and the goat in the karahi was very hard. Maybe because it was busy that’s why there food was not up to standard.

Being a chef can’t complaint about food but still Sleepy service, poor food quality, and food was coming on the table like instalments we ordered sides mains and drink eventually after 45 mins we got our food but after serving all the food they can’t serve is drinks Allright half way when we ask for extra bread the worst managing staff manager say they can do anymore bread but still they were serving other customers how??? Staff there oh my god they were so arrogant like they were doing a favour to us by serving us food just requesting everybody not to visit there if possible you can find much better food and services around. Would love to give them zero if it was possible not ever gonna go around this place 🙏

The food was awesome. We did preorder our food as it’s for 14 of us. Everything was booked before hand. The meal was not served according to the way meal supposed to come. Unfortunately they were sorry but did take any damage. I think they should charge us less or compensate some other way. Again food was good and staff was good too.

Awesome restaurant. Dishes are really delicious, enjoyed Bihari Kabab, Beef Handie, Mughlai Murgh Korma, and Murgh-e-Musalam. Staffs are really helpful to choose dishes and prompt. Service is excellent. Price is reasonable considering serving amount. Restaurant is clean and well maintained. Parking 🅿️ is challenging their.

Worst ever food. Order Goat Karahi that was smelly as hell. I’ll post pictures what we ordered and what we left because we couldn’t eat. And no wonder why was the restaurant empty. Better go for subway next door

Had team dinner at Friday night with colleagues. I like garlic Maan, chicken in the picture and chicken curry? mild the best. Lamb is not my type, very hard and plain.

I ordered through GrubUP app that delivered 40kms away from the restaurant. The dinner was simply amazing. I loved the korma, malai tikka, beef behari and tikka masala. Everything was perfect and naans were amazing as usual. Kheer and ras malai were the highlights. Really good experience

Having been to the Surry Hills restaurant before, I thought I should give the darling harbour one a go. The chicken handie was delicious and fragrant and went well with the naan. The haleem, a slightly bitter taste from what tasted like overly fried onions but still enjoyable. The biryani had fluffy rice but lacked in overall flavour. Entrees was also delicious. The staff were attentive even though they were busy, they made sure to ask if we needed anything throughout our dinner. As for the drinks - mango lassi was a winner. But unfortunately that watermelon drink was disappointing and disgusting.

Excellent food. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely fine dining. It can be expensive but worth it I would say and the hospitality was super by mr saif. Highly recommended even if you are vegetarian as they have great variety of vegetarian food too.

Food is absolutely delicious. The biryani rice and chillie chicken are my favourite. Service was good and we were checked on multiple times to see if there was anything we needed. The toilets are horrendous and they were not stocked or cleaned before they opened their doors. Their buffet menu is closed due to covid.

Wonderful Mughlai and Punjabi food with lots of vegetarian options. Attentive service with both indoor and outdoor tables to soak up the sun. Had paneer tikka and kurkuri okra for entrees. For the mains had Roghni naan and basmati rice with sarson da Saag and yellow Daal. Walked down with a refreshing Nimbu Pani cocktail.

Went here on a very busy day(boxing day). Staff was doing a good job in getting the tables ready for the next guests in que. Onto the food, was delicious. We got chicken tikka, kofta(favorite) and chicken jalfreezi. Least favorite was the biryani. And yes, nimbu soda was super refreshing.

I recently visited Lal Qila, and I have to say, the food was absolutely exquisite! As a Pakistani food enthusiast, I must say that their mutton gravy was one of the best I've ever tasted. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the meat was cooked to perfection. It was a true delight for my taste buds. The biryani, while lacking a bit of oomph, was still delicious and definitely worth trying. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the portion size was good enough to satisfy my cravings. I must also mention the hospitality of the manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate our request for a specific table. His attentiveness and polite demeanor added to the overall experience. The only reason I am removing one star from my review is that the food was a little cold, which was a bit disappointing. However, this did not take away from the amazing flavors and overall experience. Overall, I loved my experience at Lal Qila and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Pakistani cuisine. The food was delicious, the portion sizes were good, and the hospitality was exceptional. I look forward to visiting again soon!

Certainly the Best, most authentic Pakistani restaurant with the largest menu. Probably the only place in Australia that serves Roghani Naans! Yumm!! Everything we ordered was delicious, service time was amazingly good and the staff was warm and friendly. Most recommended, if you are in Sydney and want to have an authentic South Asian experience.

Top notch customer service and beautiful interior. Shoutout to Rita (apologies if we spelt the name wrong). Her service was amazing (checking in to make sure everything was ok and to ensure we were happy with our meal). Highly recommend the Paani Poori / Gol Gappy and the Dumpukht Biryani - lamb. Will definitely visit again to try out some of the other dishes they have to offer on the menu. The Lahori Tikka Boti was flavoursome but the chicken was a tad dry, less to my liking. P.S. Surcharge on card payments.

Visited the restaurant in Berangaroo in Darling harbour and the moment you enter the aroma of delicious food hits you ! That sets you going ! We ordered the mutton seekh , chicken karahi and the Roghni naan. The seekh kebab was tender, juicy and full of flavour. The karahi was okay, a little to my dismay as I was looking forward to it more than the seekh kebab. It lacked some masala but it wasn't bad as such. Just ok. The Roghni naan was the delight of the meal! The freshly made naan smelled awesome and tasted even more delicious than the ones I had in Melbourne ( which I thought was very good!) Loved it! The portion was good. The naan in comparison was smaller but it made up in taste and was totally worth it! Was looking forward to falooda but after eating the meal was too full to give it a try. We paid around 90 AuD. I'll say it's something you need to try ! Go and enjoy!

I had a fantastic experience at Lal Qila DarlingHarbour. The ambience was wonderful, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a memorable dining experience. The food was exquisite, with a wide range of delicious options to choose from. The customer service was top-notch, making us feel valued and well-cared for throughout our visit. Portions were generous, ensuring we left satisfied, and the restaurant's location added to the overall appeal. But what truly stood out were their kebabs; they were simply awesome. Lal Qila is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful Indian dining experience.

A famous Pakistani restaurant serves Mugalai Indian cuisine. I went with friends for dinner. The food tasted fantastic, except Dall Tadka was a bit disappointed. Non-breads are soft and fluffy. Paratha was a bit dry. Chicken Karahi tastes incredible. Gulab Jamun was buttery smooth and tasted fantastic with ice cream. A must-try one. Service is good as they manage the crowd well—clean and airy dining hall with many tables. It's a bit noisy when it gets crowded. I overall had a great experience. It's a bit overpriced, must visit a restaurant if you want to taste Mughal food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fabulous Pakistani restaurant Lal Qila, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance that instantly made me feel at home. The authenticity of the food is truly commendable. Each dish was bursting with flavors and aromas that transported me straight to the streets of Pakistan. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Pakistani dishes, from aromatic biryanis to succulent kebabs and mouthwatering curries. Every bite was a burst of deliciousness, and I couldn't help but savor each and every dish. The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had about the menu and even provided recommendations based on my preferences. I also want to commend the restaurant for their commitment to quality and hygiene. The food was prepared with utmost care and freshness, and it truly showed in the taste. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, considering the high quality of the ingredients used. Overall, I highly recommend this authentic Pakistani restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience. It's a true gem in the city cbd, where you can savor the flavors of Pakistan without having to travel miles away . Trust me, you won't be disappointed 💯

Had a chance to check out Lal Qila Darling Harbour restaurant last night. I have Raj to it is one of the best Pakistani Cuisines I have ever had. Ordered the goat biriani, it was a bit dry, but the taste was fantastic. Also tried the tandoor chicken & the shish kebab - they were just juicy and delicious. The service was excellent, the guy who served us was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. The atmosphere was a bit dull and dark. I kind of looked like typical Pakistani or Indian restaurants back in the old country :)

The restaurant has good decor and ambiance, and service and food is good. Some of the dishes are quite hot (extra chilli), so the attendant should clarify this to the customers at the time of ordering, as everybody can't have very hot food.

Been going to this place for quite a while and they never disappoint. Staff is amazing and service is pretty quick. They have a massive space and you’d usually get the table right away even if you are just walking in but they get busy on weekends. Their signature dishes are to die for. Specially handie and bihari boti. Fried fish is really nice as well. Ambiance is really nice and restaurant is very clean overall. Over all food is pretty good and authentic. Highly recommended. 10/10

Amazing Food...Service can be Faster but I believe it might be due to COVID...Tried Mix Veg and Paneer Handie on recommendation from attendant...Both were superb looks as well as Taste wise...Garlic Naan and Cheese Chilli Naan were best out of around 7 different breads we tried...Avoid Roti or Lachha Paratha unless you have a need to eat wholemeal based breads...Ambience is pretty nice as well...Just check for price if ordering something suggested by attaendant...Price of Paneer Handie was 1.5 times more than the usual veg which came in as a surprise at the end...My Bad Actually...Also they don't serve tap water so be mindful of that...Overall one of the Best places to have North Indian Food with fine dining experience in Sydney.

Overpriced average food. There is nothing special in the restaurant to justify sky rocketed prices for every item. In my order of about 7 dishes only 2 were good and the rest were way below average. Two stars are only for those 2 good items.

I visited your restaurant more than10 times. this is the first time i had bad experience with your dishes. We ordered Lamb chops, paratha, Goat biryani and chef special Goat karahi (which is recommended by the person who took order). lamb chops and paratha was good but biryani didnt have aroma and taste. I felt like having ordinary rice with Gravy. In the bottom there was liitle water from the rice and also Goat karahi didnt prepared well and the ingredients had raw smell. Oops i don't think so i can visit your restaurant again. Serve quality food and don't loose your customer.
