We enjoyed dining here. Food was great and service was excellent. Our favourites were smoked eggplant, cauliflower, souvlaki but everything was tasty. I loved their aromatic tea. They serve good coffee too. It was a little noisy with airplanes flying over us when we ate at outside table, but it was a lovely dinner. Staff were all very friendly and nice.

The M.I.L. salad ($11) with red cabbage, maple mayonnaise, toasted sesame seeds and plump sultanas was the dish that sparked the most joy in a recent takeaway meal from Barzaari. Tangy labneh ($8) was a close second. The strained yoghurt dip helped to jazz up our whole roast chicken, cooked with harissa, sour dates, and preserved lemon ($45). The chook was served with soggy beans and roast spuds that were a bit too wet for my liking. We intended to eat the dip with pita ($5) but this menu item only results in one small piece of flatbread that we shared. Kleftiko ($40), a slow- cooked half lamb shoulder came with roasted vegetables cooked in red wine so intense it dominated their flavour and stained up the underlying Cypriot rice. While I appreciate restaurants doing generously proportioned, whole family sharing meals (this also came with tzatziki) I can’t help but think it would have eaten better if each element had been packaged up separately. Bar for their smart salad idea, this meal didn’t get over the bar of stuff we can cook competently at home.

Perfection. The food and hospitality at Barzaari transported me to my ancestral home on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus. I had dinner with a group of friends and the food was exceptional. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. The octopus was tender, the lamb was delicious and the falafel was crunchy and tasty. I will definitely be back to try the lunch time Cyprus Sandwiches.

Just had an awesome this amazing Cypriot restaurant after a long walk on the Bay Run! Their lamb and chicken souvlaki were pure food heaven, the dessert were delicious and in a proper portion and more importantly the vibe there was off the charts with nice decoration and details and pickles jars! Their glasses were also well designed with their menu you don’t feel like drinking water from another Ikea glass! The staff rocked too, super friendly and made us feel like part of the family. Totally recommend it, folks!

What a fantastic restaurant! The staff were lovely and the food was so delicious. We had a banquet and so glad we did as we got to try so many wonderful dishes. We were very full after mains and the staff very kindly boxed up dessert to take away

Amazing! This beautiful group of people put on the most amazing event yesterday that brought the whole community together. Each and every person who was there wanted to be there and it shone with the smiles, the warm greetings and the thanks to everyone who showed up. The food was incredible especially on the large never ending scale. Thank you beyond words for creating such a beautiful event that brought the entire community together.

Love supporting a local business who care about the community, humanity and make some phenomenal food. Being vegan the vegan options are exceptional and plentiful. Two visits in 3 days over the weekend and many more to come. Thank you again!

The food and dessert are great. Will definitely go back to try more food. The outdoor seating can be a bit noisy with the cars and aeroplanes noise

Absolutely blown away by the quality and flavours of the food at Bazaari tonight. We had a birthday dinner and ordered most things on the menu and I have to say I couldn't fault a single thing. Every dish was a gastronomic delight from the entree to the salad to the main course. Some of the highlights include the octopus, the eggplant and the cauliflower dishes. And the rice was very unique and tasty as well. The service was also top notch: attentive without being over the top. We had a cake which was delivered to the restaurant earlier on in the day and they were happy to hold it in the cold room for us until it was ready to be brought out with candles which they provided free of charge. At the end of our meal, we were given some extra pastries by the owner-manager which was such a lovely gesture and just the perfect icing on the cake (pun intended!). I can't recommend this place highly enough. One of the absolute gems of the inner west. I will be certainly be back with others. It's too good of a spot not to share :)

Absolutely beautiful good. Great flavors, reminded me of traveling through Mediterranean and northern Africa. Delicious vegan options - everyone LOVED the smokey eggplant dip, we got seconds.

Not your traditional Greek dining experience as this place has a middle eastern influence but definitely still worth checking out. The food was delicious and the staff were very nice and helpful. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great restaurant nice atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and it is a good place for dates or group meals. The only issue is the limited time that is available per seating. Had a full range of the menu - some interesting good flavours and inventive dishes that are not necessarily authentic but highly delicious. The fusion range is of Lebanese, Cypriot, Greek, Middle-Eastern and Israeli flavours. So overall I would recommend it, just be aware to order appropriate amounts and try experimenting. Prices are also decent. Small but interesting winelist

Barzaari was like taking a step in and landing into a restaurant in Cyprus, the smell and the ambiance immediately makes you feel trhe culinary experience you are about to have. Not in a long while have I had food that has satisfied my tastebuds as much as this food did. Everything is made from scratch on the premises from the pita bread to the sheftiales to the pickles vegtables. It’s all bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. My two favourite dishes by far was the souvla which I would go back for again and again, it’s as good as the souvla you have in the Cypriot mountains, and the loukoumades, fried fluffy doughnut balls lightly tossed in syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon served hot. It is must to go to this family run restaurant where the hosts greet you like they’ve known you for years and the food makes you want to go back again and again.

If you are looking for a place where you can impress friends/family/work colleagues or a tinder date this is the place you need to go to. You enter and the aroma of the various dishes instantly excite your taste buds , you KNOW you have hit the jackpot. The genuine attentive service you can not fault. Every dish we had although experienced elsewhere still surprised us. This is a must visit and and will be our new go to. Thank you 🙏

Since it was our first time, we asked the waiter for recommendations and he did such a great job because everything we ordered were amazing! We didn't quite enjoyed the dessert though, it wasn't our kind of dessert as the filling was saltier than it was sweet but overall, we would definitely visit again.

We had "The Feast" at $70pp. Overall good, but some very big let downs. The eggplant dip was amazing. The other dips were average. The selection of starters was good and we enjoyed most of them. The Kleftiko was great and cooked to perfection. Sadly, the sheftalies were not good at all, and didn't even taste like sheftalies. They were also undercooked and were in every way just inedible. We left them. However, despite being asked twice by waiter if food was good, and telling the waiter twice that they were inedible, all we got was "well everyone's tastes are different". The service was also extremely rushed to begin with, so we felt a bit overwhelmed. Then the service was so incredibly slow that we had to ask for our dessert with the bill. Very odd! The loukoumades and baklava were given to take away, but were yummy. Overall not bad, but really wouldn't rush to go back.

I made the mistake of thinking I could get coffee at 4pm in Marrickville, and was just about to give up when I found this place They were between shifts but invited me to grab a table, got an excellent coffee and pistachio cake. After that I grabbed a meal of the best roasted Brussel sprouts and a couple of chicken skewers Great service, great food, good location

Came here for coffee and some pastries and was just blown away, I had to try them all. The team here are so welcoming and we’re more than happy to explain all the freshly baked goods they had to offer. They were freshly prepping for lunch and dinner, I can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Great local spot. The inner west’s version of the Apollo doesn’t disappoint. Delicious food, friendly staff. Negroni had a good unique kick to it. You have to get the saganaki cheese. Wines weren’t quite our taste but appreciate them going for Greek and Lebanese ones to match the food.

TLDR; Mixed Experience at Bazaari, Delicious BBQ Meats but Overly Salty Dishes, the Egg plant was the standout dish. My recent visit to Bazaari Greek Cypriot Restaurant left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, the restaurant's extensive menu catered well to a variety of dietary needs, with options for meat eaters, pescatarians, vegetarians, and vegans. The BBQ meats were particularly delicious, and the buba ganous was a standout dish. However, the food was unfortunately let down by its excessive saltiness. The salt overpowered all the other flavors in every dish, from the falafel to the svolaki to the rice, leaving a lingering unpleasant taste. Despite the saltiness you had decent-sized portions. I can’t forget to mention the fall of the bone kleftiko, delicious! While the staff were friendly, they seemed to be short-staffed, resulting in a longer wait time for our meals. Overall, Bazaari has potential, but improvements need to be made to ensure that diners can fully enjoy the diverse flavors of Mediterranean cuisine without being overwhelmed by salt.

I came here with my partner and family for Mother’s Day lunch. We ordered the Feast option number 2. We cannot fault any of the food. Every dish was extremely tasty, delicious and generous for four people. It was probably one of the best restaurants we have been to in a very long time. We were talking about this possibly being our new favourite place. Not only was the food delicious (from entrees/meze, to dinner, to dessert), but the staff were so kind, attentive and lovely. I would absolutely recommend coming here because it did not disappoint whatsoever. It’s very hard to find a restaurant that is amazing from start to finish, but this was fantastic. Thank you so much.

Food is plentiful and tasty, but we had to be out after 2 hours as another group wanted our table. We managed to drink our coffee and eat our sweets in 5 minutes. Buyer beware of the 2 hour windows you have to eat in.

The food was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back for the cauliflower and the hummus. I will also be coming back for the lovely service. Its obvious the care that every one of the staff had for us to enjoy the experience and the food. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.

What a very disappointing experience I had today I took some friends into have a look and experience the place as I raved about the quality of the food the great service but I received none of the above today... Thete was a few of us we ordered everything to share we had a yayais rice which was quite gluggy we had roasted potatoes that Were still hard and no lemon flavour The Greek salad was just Tomatoe cucumber and a piece of fetta and 2 olives and what looked like red onion wedge...We ordered 1 chicken 1 lamb 1 pork skewer there was so skinny it was unbelievable I think the quality of the food has dropped Which is really sad to say as I used to dine here on a regular basis before covid 19 ....I believe the origanial owner is gone .... Definitely won't be returning there. Had a gift voucher that has 3 years on it was from there other branch now closed down but had a email saying they would honour it ..so on arrive was all good the guy took them said no problem..just as we finish he said manage said no can not use it...said previous owner is an idiot shouldn't honour it.....so disappointing with that ...was happy to pay, but I guess as they say word by mouth is the best review !!

Food was okay (some of it good, some terrible) but we were charged $5 PER HALF of pita bread, $8 per small dip and $5 for a bottle of tap water! Left feeling quite ripped off as we weren't aware of the bread or water price until the bill.

Received booking confirmation for counter seating, drove 30 mins to reach there and end up they offered outdoor seating when counter was vacant. I refuse to take it and left, once i step my foot out, i received email notification that they cancelled my booking.

Barzaari actually does an excellent lunch (as well as dinner)! For one that's hungover I would suggest the Turbo, the sandwich that will have you back to normal in no time.

The ‘Feast’ was a bit too sausage, chicken and chips for the money. Tasty food regardless, the starters were outstanding, especially the sauces. I would recommend avoiding the banquet and ordering individual dishes.

Lovely food but I've never been to a Greek restaurant/shop where they charge for Pita Bread when you buy the dips! The lady when we asked for dips gave us the impression she was giving extra pita bread but instead charged us $25. If you are gonna charge us that much tell us!!!. We spent $271 for lunch and when we asked for takeaway for the dessert we got home and found a dead flies in it. So disappointed.

We loved the banquet and thought it was great value! Starters were amazing and if you are a lamb fan, this is one of the best lambs I’ve had! Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crispness from the fat :). Was able to take one bit and everyone else agreed too. Missed a lot of the photos because I was hungry!

Stumbled across this place by accident, whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch in the area and what an awesome surprise Barzaari turned out to be. We ordered a number of dishes, all of which had great ingredients, prepared to perfection. From the sheftalia, to the souvlakia, the lamb souvla, baked vegetables and mother-in-law salad. I could recommend them all. Then the desserts.. (try their baklava ice cream).. The service was prompt and the staff were all friendly and attentive. I'm coming back with more parea (friends + family) for SURE! Thanks Barzaari for a great experience.

  • 5/5 Caroline H. 3 years ago on Google
It took one bite... I was sold. The Sheftalies were moist and full of flavour. The lamb souvla was cooked to perfection. Ordered the Mother-in-law salad and Yiayia's rice. It reminded me of my mother's cooking. Made with love and pride! Finished off with the Baklava ice cream. Just divine! If you're looking for a place with great service, ambience and excellent food this is the place to visit. You won't be disappointed!

Email them through their website, 4-5 days before our dinner. They replied “confirm” by the guy name Gabby Martin. Came they said they couldn’t find our booking, then they sit us in a tiny bar near window and make excuses like “even bookings we sat people here”. I don’t buy that. Terrible service. I’m so angry. Wanted to try local restaurant but it disappointed me the minute I walked in. Never come back.
