This place is useless, apart from ok coffee I never get my order correctly because the attention to details is very poor… I specifically order a ham and cheese croissant and some how got a cheese toasty, this was also meant to be my lunch and was thrown away as I’m allergic to tomatoes ! By the time I got back to my car to head to work there was no time to go back and discuss the incorrect order they had given me. Very disappointing that the morning love burger I ordered not only had been poorly displayed but had egg inside which was partly raw in the burger on the white parts which I couldn’t stomach as only the yoke should be like this. Lastly one more bad experience since I’ve been there many times was getting the green bowl take away, I paid well over $20 for this and was given the most brownest avocado, there was abit of broccoli In the box which to be honest was as hard as a rock and the hommus or whatever dip was thrown all over everything, it was not tasteful at all… if your prices are so high honestly provided better service from the kitchen section because it is far from pleasing. Another thing about this owner which I never knew, it is really unprofessional to comment on every single bad review as I have only just noticed now with an extremely sarcastic comment, I believe in one of the reviews he calls the lady inappropriate names such as incompetent, a waste of time and unworthy of service! I’m shocked ! 😧 To the owner take this feedback as constructive criticism and best say nothing if not within a professional manner otherwise those ratings will drop a lot sooner then you will realise. I went in for breakfast today with a friend of mine and the lovely server who looked after us was so kind and friendly. It makes such a big difference when the staff are so engaging. The food was delicious and great value for the amount you get on a plate. Keep up the good work 😊

I swung by to get some coffee in the morning. Later on in went back to pick up 2 more coffees, and bacon and egg roll. The coffee is awesome, the bacon and egg was fantastic. I've tried a few establishments near by, they're all good but, this one is a gem imo, I'll definitely be back.

A real cut above the rest. Breakfasts and light lunches made imaginatively and with the freshest ingredients. E.G. see ricotta pancakes picture. I regularly make the trip down from Newtown to enjoy the food and service and save a few dollars. Marrickville prices are less than Newtown.

Ordered the breakfast burgers. Good combination of ingredients in the breakfast burgers, egg, beef patty, bacon, avocado, tomato, and mayo. Fresh, tasty, and a good portion size will definitely order again from The Giant Bean Cafe.

I don’t mind the food and coffee here even though I have had some experiences which can relate to the below reviews of good food such as the breakfast plate though there had been mistakes with my coffee and other orders.. I also don’t like what I can see from the owners response, he seems mean and abrupt towards customers which isn’t what you’d expect from an owner, so don’t think I’ll be returning after seeing this..

Feb 2022 Having visited numerous times for both breakfast, brunch, lunch & takeaway, I love the place more & more. Excellent coffee, delicious food, beautiful house made muffins & brownies & the biggest friendliest smiles and service! 2021 I stumbled upon this unassuming cafe & was so pleasently surprised! The menu had lots of options & on this occasion for breakfast I tried the big breakfast (swapped poached for fried eggs) which had absolutely everything yummy. Bacon, 2 eggs, 2 hashbrowns, chorizo, grilled mushroom, spinach, smashed avo & a cube of feta. It was all cooked really well & presented beautifully. The ricotta pancakes were light & not overly sweet with a berry compote, ricotta & fresh seasonal fruit (I added Nutella!) Again it looked so pretty & was delicious to eat. The scrambled eggs were done well and the house made raspberry white choc muffin was warm from the oven & fluffy. Coffee was excellent as was the service & super friendly staff. Really enjoyed everything here & looking forward to returning soon!

A small, yet invitingly busy cafe near bus stop and 20-30mins walk from nearest 2 stations (Sydenham (closest) and Marrickvillle), located just off Marrickvillle Rd. Staff are polite, friendly, efficient, attentative and proficient + are extra sensitive/accommodating to persons such are Myself with allergies/food sensitive needs; including egg/nut allergies, vegetarian/vegan options, as well as soy and pay milk beverages. A varied and wide variety of menu and drinks options means you'll be coming back again again. Food and drinks are moderately priced, generously proportioned and well worth the wait. Highly recommend. 👍🏾

I headed in here for a quick coffee and water, and despite their near closing time I was served a muffin for free no questions asked. I was touched and it was amazing. If you’re after a lovely spot for coffee I’d recommend here, and give their rhubarb and apple muffins a try!

Beautiful hot chocolate

We swung past here before I had to take my partner to the airport, we enjoyed our early morning breakfast, was surprised that the chef personally delivered our dishes. I never eat rocket but wow I ate the whole dish and it was flavoursome, also can’t go wrong with fresh watermelon juice, customer service was good also.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and vibe, delicious and filling breakfast! Easy on the wallet too.

Whilst it looks like a potentially unassuming cafe from outside I generally think all food here is made to a really high standard, good coffee and service seemed solid as well.

What a little gem in Marrickville. We had the Fritters, Benedict and Berry Smoothies. Strongly recommend all of these and will be back.

I wouldn't recommend this cafe to anyone unless of course your a fifty year old man. The front of house worker Jessie from Strathfield will go above and beyond for her male customers, in return for long lunches and expensive gifts. She likes stealing other women's husbands from them and taking advantage of them. She is a certified home wrecker.

I walked in and ordered the Beef and Onion burger and an Ice Coffee at a very reasonable. The lady taking my order was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice. I loved the flowers on the tables, adds a nice natural feel. The music was a little loud however, which didn't bother me but for people in groups trying to have a conversation it might make things a little hard. Now the food... damn, the best burger I have honestly ever tasted! Greatly seasoned and cooked to perfection! The iced coffee was absolutely delicious too. Definitely worth coming to try them out, I had a great experience here and amazing food. 5/5

Very rude to the customers, poor customer services, not allow customers to use Groupon voucher. I will never go to this place again, this place is disgusting, below average and overrated. I would not recommended anyone to go over there.

Loved the whole atmosphere of the cafe, the food was great and the latte was even better. The seat by the window looks picturesque while reading a book, sipping coffee and occasionally looking out on the streets seeing people going on with their lives. Overall breakkie was great and so was hospitality.

I spent whole morning working from this beautiful cafe. And I must say they have beautiful atmosphere with delicious food. They keept on checking up me all the time if I needed something. Owner came and chated on table and barista kept reloading coffee every hour .. Love this place 👌

Really lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious! The table service is a nice touch and the servers were kind and welcoming. At first I was a bit taken back by the cost of the iced coffee but when it came out it was HUGE. So, well worth the price if you want a lot of coffee haha. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area! A great spot for locals too.
