Neko Neko Newtown

Restaurant Japanese restaurant

👍 Photos faithful to what ramen you'll get. Not a vegan connoisseur but I will say that the tan tan ramen hits a spot at a moderate to expensive price range. Still cant put it past the ambience and great vegan food. Would recommend to others as a good ramen spot. Do rate the toilet too lmao. People often mention vegan, ramen, Japanese, Neko, tofu, eggplant, broth, restaurant, Ramen,

I am not vegan but this place nearly converted me. I loved the ramen here and the broth was surprisingly flavourful for me as I love a meaty broth. The mince replacement was top quality in fairness and I’d definitely go again

Great service and amazing food! I dine in with a friend. We got the Agedashi tofu and gf gyoza which was bloody amazing! So delicious! Also i got the spicy ramen and my friend got the yuzu ramen. Both were delicious. The ambience is great and simple deco yet very clean. The staffs were friendly and I got to practice my Japanesse! Thank you and will surely comeback here again!

This restaurant offers either pescetarian or vegan dishes. All ramen are vegan and there are different options for broth and toppings. We enjoyed the diversity and the colorfulness of the ramen dishes. The noodles seemed house-made, they were slightly chewy and flat. The restaurant is small, but nevertheless seems to fit a lot of people.

Amazing little Japanese restaurant that serves mainly vegan / vegetarian dishes. Their seafood options are mock meat and taste great! As a non vegetarian I loved everything, especially their spicy edimame! Their staff were super helpful and friendly. If you are going on a popular night make sure you make a booking! Phone details on website.

Best ramen I've had outside of Japan! The intoxicating aroma of the flavourful broth made my companion and I halt our conversation to admire the beauty that was laid before us. Combined with excellent textures and tastes, this ramen was brilliant. I'll be back ASAP. Extensive vegan menu.

It was quality food if a little over priced. The vegan options are great. The tofu pocket was divine. Very prompt service. Warning tho: be very very careful of splash back! My sleeve and front caught a little bit of the broth and my friend opposite dropped something in hey bowl that had us ducking for cover! If you rate ramen this place is well worth checking out!

Drove to the other side of town because of the popular vegan ramen and it is so worth it! The service is good, the staff called back to reserve the table for us before it’s closed. We had the bean & potato croquettes and super delicious quinoa gyoza for entrees! Wish we had two serves of the vegan gyozas! The vegan ramens are the highlights as well-we had the classic Neko Neko vegan ramen and the vegan tan tan men. Love this ramen bar! You can have gluten free or onion garlic free from your food as well! You have a regular now!

Fantastic vegan ramen. First time I tried this and I had to say I am really impressed. The ramen soup is very flavoursome. It doesn't taste bland at all and the toppings is very generous. They not only sell vegan dishes, they have some seafood dishes too if you want bring someone who is not vegan. They are a fantastic Japanese restaurant with Vegan in mind.

Delicious! In the Neko Neko Ramen I loved details. The lovely hint of Yuzu in the pickled cabbage and the crunchy inari for textural contrast.

Had the superfood agedashi tofu and eggplant, the mixed black and brown rice was really yummy, the agedashi tofu and eggplant a bit too oily, the prawn gyoza were lovely. Love the atmosphere and interior design as well!

Best authentic vegan Japanese food! Thanks to the owner for fitting us in tonight even though they were so busy! We had the Neko Neko ramen and the potato and bean croquette curry - tastes as good as it looks! Looking forward to eating through the whole menu ☺️

Each ramen dish was very nicely presented with lots of colour, flavour and textural components! I had the Neko Neko ramen and the tofu pocket crisp, flavoursome and melted in my mouth. Delicious!! Gyozas were also very nice.

This is the BEST Japanese restaurant in Newtown actually in all of Sydney! The food is seriously delicious! With great Japanese beer on tap. This is a true hidden gem of Sydney. They are accommodating to all dietary requirements, with so many vegan and vegetarian options. Good for large groups! The vegan sushi is amazing! Also the waiter was really cute and he was soo friendly 😊 I’ll be back!!

Actually, we accidentally found this place for dinner. First of all, as a vegetarian, happy to find vegan and pescatarian restaurant in Sydney. We ordered Tan Tan Ramen and Age dashi Tofu and eggplant meal set. Tan Tan ramen broth was rich. We tried mild spiciness maybe extra spicy will be better. For the meal set I felt like it is really Japanese style side display rice and side dish. Pickles is citrusy I think they used yuzu. It made my mouth fresh. One thing, I want to mention, I expected age dashi tofu more soup base but it was with stick sauce. And Tofu with fried eggplant made me feel greasy also, I got soy braised eggplant for side dish. Maybe if someone order Age dashi todu and eggplant, you might replace eggplant to other side dish? Without that, It was awesome. The place is cozy, tidy, display with Japanese stuffs and there are a lot of Japanese beverage to drink!

Interesting food. Worth trying as you probably won’t have similar food elsewhere. Liked the sweet potato ball& crashed tofu. The fried parts are quite oily though. I am sure the chef can do some tricks to avoid that. Quiet and peaceful ambiance. Lovely place to sit and relax.

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
