The worst hotel experience I have ever had. Disrespectful staff and dirty facilities. I paid upfront for 2 nights using Hotels.com. When I arrived at the hotel to check in they claimed they could not find my booking details so I had to email them my confirmation email. Once the man working at reception received and read my email confirming I had already paid for the room, he assured me everything was fine and checked me in. Once I got to my room I was looking forward to having a bath but the bath was disgusting and looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The next morning I spoke to someone at reception, gave them the room number and asked for the bath to be cleaned while my room was made up. He told me he would pass the message on and ensure it was cleaned. I returned after 5pm to find that not only had the bath not been cleaned, but the room hadn't even been made up either. When I called reception, Jessica was apologetic and after offering fresh towels she offered to swap me into a new room instead. The room I paid for included parking and I was supposed to have a multi entry/exit ticket but it didn't work so each time I left the hotel I had to ask someone at reception to validate the ticket. During one of these occasions, one staff member was sitting at the desk with some paperwork (mask off and licking his finger every few pages as he scrolled through them - unhygienic and unacceptable with the current Covid outbreak) and he would look up to see there were people waiting to speak to someone but instead of acknowledging us or offering to help, he would just look down and continue shuffling and stapling paper. Everyone in the queue had to wait a further 10 minutes for the other person working at the reception desk who was helping other guests. I was looking forward to using the outdoor pool during my stay as it was very hot, but the pool was empty and there was no information about this on the hotel's website to advise guests before booking that the pool would not be available. Two days after checking out the hotel charged my credit card for the hotel stay AGAIN when I had paid before even arriving at the hotel. When I called the hotel to let them know, the male staff were extremely rude and apathetic. Firstly he told me it would take two weeks to receive a refund and then he said it wasn't the Stamford's problem and that I needed to contact Hotels.com. I have been communicating with staff from Hotels.com and they are still trying to get Stamford to refund me for wrongly charging my card twice when I had already paid for my room. The staff at Hotels.com have also told me the staff on the phone at Stamford hotel have been extremely rude to them. I am still waiting for a refund after almost 3 weeks. Disgusting service and hotel.

Reserved & prepaid for 2 rooms through booking.com. On arrival, waited at reception for more than 25 minutes to check in (we were the only party in they foyer) queried about prepayment, double checked Credit Card, one room wasn't ready, returned somewhat later only to wait for another 25 minutes to check into the second room, same queries, same checks. Not impressed to find mould in both showers. Bathroom taps drip, drip drip...Only in room dining available at quite outrageous pricing.... $18 for a bowl of breakfast cereal with an 15% surcharge for Easter.. Paid to upgrade for airport views... windows were dirty, a great view if the multi storey Carpark!! Certainly hasn't been the "luxury experience" as touted by the advertising.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my partner. In the 4 days we stayed the room was never cleaned even though we set the room door sign to clean every day. The restaurant down stairs was in chaos with only two people working it so the wait to order was long and the food very average. One of the girls working behind the main desk tried to charge us $100 every day for a deposit and also said we would have to check out and in again every day? Don’t know what that was about? We let it go until the next day when she wasn’t there and then had a chat to another stuff member so they could fix it up for us. This hotel looks great on the website but I’d like to know who gives them the 5 star rating? I would never come back here and my overall experience wasn’t good. U guys get 2 stars, I can’t even say it’s for effort because I don’t even think u guys tried. My advice to anyone thinking about staying here is to think again.

The staff were very gracious and friendly. I’d missed a connection flight and was upset and exhausted- they treated me with kindness. I like the rooms - they were so clean & spacious. The decor reminded me of Days Of Our Lives. Lots of marble & timber. The toiletries were pure vegetable and non toxic. Room service was fab. Overall a great experience after a hectic day. The staff should be congratulated!

Don't stay here if you have another option. Upon arrival i was charged over $300 for a security deposit, while other people in the group were charged different amounts. All the food was disgustingly overpriced, the portions served were really small and it didn't taste nice at all. The photo is of their butter chicken, which consisted of 5 pieces of diced chicken, maybe half a cup of rice, and what i assume is naan bread. The sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The rooms were supposed to be made up every 3 days, however, the person who was supposed to make up the room decided to do it at 7pm, at which time i was in the shower. She walked in and when she saw me, walked back out, and nothing was made up until the day before i left. They were charging their customers $15 a day for wifi, which is absolutely ridiculous. I have nothing good to say about my stay and i will never go back there again. If i could give this hotel zero stars i would.

Arrived onsite and the staff were okay... They mentioned that there's a $100 deposit per day up to $300 max... I stayed for 13 nights as it was a work trip. Every 2-3 days they'd take more of a deposit without my authorisation, until I checked out with $1500 held as a "deposit" on my card... And no clue when they'll release it. Bank tells me it could be 2-3 weeks wait.... Outrageously overpriced room service, they advertise the price of the meal then add more on because it's "room service" when you have no other option as their restaurant is permanently closed. Will never go back!

Average hotel, good location. This is not a 5 star hotel. Average fit out in the rooms, very dated. Mouldy grout in the bathroom. There is 0 minibar in room. Not even a bottle of water. Great place to stay? No. Convenient? Yes.

Booked on for the night before an early flight there next day. We selected this hotel because it has been so hot and they have a pool. The restaurant also had great feedback. Sadly, both the pool and restaurants we're closed and nothing was noted on the website at booking. I mentioned it at check-in and was simply told they aren't open. It was quite disappointing because we could have stayed somewhere more convenient if we had known up front. That's aside, the room was quite nice. The room service menu is quite limited and may not meet a wide variety of dietary requirements. We ended up walking 15 minutes to the supermarket for dinner snacks and preferred dinner from a local Thai restaurant. A bonus is the airport shuttle. Within 15 minutes, we had left the hotel, checked in and cleared security. Granted, this was just before 7 am, but still convenient and quick. Would stay again but will check before if the pool and restaurants are open before booking. Stanford, please update the website, it was quite disappointing to find this out only on arrival. It felt deceiving and not a welcoming point to an otherwise very nice hotel.

Do not stay at this hotel!!! I booked this as a treat for my children prior to our surprise flight the following morning. When I booked I was not informed that all the amenities were not open Pool/restaurant and bar). Upon booking in I asked about the said amenities and was only then informed all are closed. I spoke with the staff regarding this and said you should let people know prior to booking. The response was “That’s not my problem you should have asked us what was open when you booked”. Staff rude.. Dirty rooms… Nothing open… Stay at the Ibis across the road. Better value for money, nicer staff, cleaner and same amenities.

Who does a pre authorisation payment after the room has been paid in full.... Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel and paid for the room in full $363 plus $100 deposit. We have been waiting for a deposit to return when the hotel has requested a pre authorisation for the $460 from the bank causing our account to become locked as it is over drawn. After many attempts to contact the hotel someone answered the phone and stated that they could not find our booking. After pressing further they looked at card transactions and found ours. They alledged that they cancelled the transaction and the money would be in our account in 24hrs. It has now been well over 48 with no sign on the money. I have tried re contacting the hotel with no success. A room that was meant to cost $360 has currently cost us $926 for one of their most basic rooms. On-top of this the stay was not pleasant we could hear everything down the the conversations next door, it was infact soundproof from the airplanes but what's the point if you can hear everything else. Save your money and book elsewhere. I was waiting to leave a review until my issue was resolved but it doesn't seem like this will happen. Staff were also rude on check in and unhelpful. The mini bar was completely empty and the bathroom shower head had bad buildup and didn't work properly. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. Way over priced and double charged

10min walk from domestic Airport. From international, take free shuttle to domestic. I tried to take taxi and taxi driver told me to walk. But not a easy walk if you have large bag. Hotel is nice with large room. Breakfast was $35, I think over priced and selection was very limited.

Might have been better if the bus had been running when we got there but they stop very quickly after the flight curfew. Hence arriving just before curfew with luggage means you will miss the last one. The hotel was a good 20 minute walk from the Qantas domestic terminal with no directions and Google maps suggesting multiple routes that wouldn't work. I think Google was confused by the terminal being on several levels. This makes the description as an airport hotel a bit tenuous. The description of the walk as mainly flat was fine until the last 50 meters when it is up quite a steep slope. Rooms are pretty standard for a hotel fare with a couple of beers in the minibar. Beds were comfy and bathroom had everything needed with space for a small party, no more than 8. We didn't get to try any of the facilities but there were people in the pool before 6:30. Not sure I'd use this hotel for Sydney airport but the decision will be mainly on price so I can't rule it out.

I don’t think this is a 5 star hotel..3.5-4 stars at best The only decent thing is the gym and proximity to the airport. The faculties are outdated including the room and bathroom (clean but old) There’s not even a microwave in the room and I get that in most 3 star hotels. The beds are comfy enough. The minibar fridge was empty which was shocking. The gym and pool shut at 10pm which is annoying for people who work late and return to find they can’t use it. A spa would have been a nice addition since the pool is outdated and in the open without heating. When I was staying I heard a woman fighting and screaming next to my room Which was super annoying

I recently stayed at the Stamford at the Sydney Airport, and while my experience was satisfactory, it fell short of my expectations for a high-end hotel. The rooms were clean, but dated, and the service was average at best. I had a negative experience with room service, as my dinner order was messed up, and the staff member I spoke with was extremely rude and unhelpful. The hotel restaurant lacked ambiance and appeared run-down, and the bar area was understaffed and overwhelmed. Overall, while the Stamford is an okay option if you can find a good deal, there are better hotels in the area, such as the nearby Pullman. If you're looking for a luxurious and exceptional experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere."

Fair stop spot if you stay in Sydney for short business trip cause hotel has great shuttle with airport only 5-10min reach. Mascot nearness gives you handy access straight to center of Sydney with metro, only 20min. If feeling like night stop over, visit Grounds of Alexandria not so far from Stamford plaza either.

Coming to Sydney for a four-day weekend we opted to stay at this fantastic establishment. Having a love of aviation and a photographer of aircraft, we asked for a high room with airport views on booking the room. Unfortunately, that request was not granted, which was disappointing. "However," that did not take anything away from the amazing place that the Stamford is. The rooms were large, the bed was really comfortable, and the shower was hot. We paid for breakfast upfront with the room, and the choice is vast. They cater for everyone. After a busy day site seeing, it was lovely to come back to our room that was serviced during the day. The atmosphere, the cleanliness, the staff, the location, and the food, it was a lovely place to stay and we will be back soon. Whether it's a night or a week, I strongly recommend staying here.

Loved this hotel!! - Polite and lovely staff - Big rooms and COMFY beds!! - Quiet. Could barely hear the planes. ✈️ - Steady hot water with a good flow. Awesome after a long and tiring day. - Good iron with good steam function for my clothing. - Room was beautifully dark with curtains closed but bright and light with them open. - The lunch and dinner food is nice. Nothing fancy but cooked well and is hearty. No complaints and the steak was good! - Breakfast was great! - The wines were lovely. - Great staircase. Perfect for group photos. - Good conference facilities (I was here for a conference) I’d definitely stay again. Very comfortable, and convenient (and the little toiletries also smell nice) Thank you for a very pleasant stay. :)

Beautiful environment and super welcoming staff. La Boca is great hang out place for food and drinks overlooking the streets with fab scenic views.. I had the best grilled fish and chips from La Boca Large size rooms with airport plus aircraft views...it's worth every cent..

Very helpful staff, but there was no coffee shop or bar to visit between the restaurant hours. Definitely didn't want to have room service. Wanted to relax in comfortable surroundings. Food was so, so.

Our stay here was so lovely! Our flights had been cancelled and we were put in the Stamford for the night. Nothing was an effort & with a young baby they were very accomodating to ensure we weren’t put out.

Ok airport hotel. Nice enough. Yummy breakfast. But their “airport shuttle” is a bit of a scam $12 per person and they only come at certain scheduled times. So if you need to be at the airport at 9 you have to get on the shuttle at 8:10 and then go through the domestic terminal before international. It’s just a bizarre non ideal system that doesn’t lend itself to being an airport hotel. Or really justify saying they have an airport shuttle. $36 to get to the airport for three of us and having to leave an hour before we needed to was ridiculous. We ended up booking an Uber for $17. But we’d stayed there for the ease of getting to the airport (and it wasn’t that easy)

The rooms beautiful - clean -roomy - room service only could get meals from the restaurant down stair no toasties available or simple menu - got a large hot chocolate and was in a medium size cup and cost $10 but it was lovely. Bottle of water $5 - I feel for the amount a room costs 2 bottles of water complimentary would be not too hard to ask. Close to airport taxi drive said you can walk which one could IF you have no luggage and runners on and right to get across large traffic crossings!!

We stayed one night as a birthday present. Check in was a major drama, The girl on the desk couldn’t find the booking!!! Eventually, we got it sorted. But she put us in the back room, even though we requested an airport view. It seems we were lost in translation, the receptionist was from Russia!! However, the room was spacious and very comfortable. So we enjoyed stay. Please be aware, if you ask for a nice room with a view? Make sure you get it. Don’t take the first one that gave you!!

Great room with a view of the underbelly of planes taking off, accommodating to me as I was on crutches. Nice meal in the evening but breakfast for the standard of hotel OK but a pretty standard, nothing special. The hotel served the purpose for me. Evening meal was great.

Staff were really lovely and welcoming. We were able to leave our luggage there way ahead of check-in. The gym and pool were highly enjoyed. Rooms were clean and tidy.

Unique hotel proximity to Sydney Airport. Especially for those who are travelling only domestically. The rooms are adequate and clean. Bathroom was modern. However the condition is the room doesn't have a light in the ceiling established. Also it would be appreciating if another rubbish bin is provided instead of just the bathroom. But overall great stay.

Front of desk service was great, really helpful. Room was nice and clean, had to stay an extra night due to flights being cancelled. Ordered room service. Although it was nice, it just took a very long time, and there weren't many people staying there...

This place is amazing, the service is impeccable, ALF and the Team were absolutely Wonderful. The gym facilities is top grade, the rooms are wonderful with breathtaking views of the Airport Runway and I can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights instead of 1 because I was so impressed. 😊 Thank you to ALF and the whole Team for making my stay pleasant. I will definitely be back.

It’s not worthy at all. Bed was not clean, I found hair and blood on the sheet. You can’t have relax time, you can hear the sound during the night time from others rooms and hall way, when the people come and go during the night for flight you can hear all that. The bed also was not comfortable. Totally I don’t recommend at all.

Nice and quite.... very supportive crew. Though very near to domestic terminal but still better to arrange pickup with hotel shuttle bus service as the cabies will not like to go short distance or might charge you heaps of $$ and it is also not really safe to walk to the hotel due to havey traffic most of the time.

I am here due to mandatory quarantine. I love to stay inside the spacious room given to me with a big window through which I can see a great view and no noise. The space is clean and tidy. They have provided with extra towels and soaps so I won't need to knock them. Personally I don't like to communicate with the reception and here I didn't need too. All I have requested them is to give me Halal food and mild high protein food and they are maintaining it. I study or browse in my laptop all day long and it feels quite peaceful after the 20 hours long journey to Sydney. Happy. :)

Horrible horrible hotel. I did my 2 week quarantine here. The room was ok. The food was horrible. I am lucky still alive. The food made me sick, was served raw chicken one night and other meals was sausage . When I cut the sausage it was sting. Talked the the receptionist to request for another meal because I was starving and it never comes. couldn't care less about my health and we'll being while in quarantine. Avoid this place at all costs.

I didn’t like the room at all. The bedsheets had stain on it.The cups were not washed properly. The whole room was dusty and the bathroom was smelly enough. Not worth staying at all. Also, the menu card was already used and they did not change it.

All staff were super friendly. The room was lovely, large and very quiet. Restaurants are still closed due to covid, but room service was excellent. The $10 airport shuttle was quick and easy, I wouldn't recommend trying to walk!

Warm water in the room from both hot and cold taps, no hot at all. Mostly though the restaurant charged $35 for breakfast and it was truely terrible. The food area was dark, completely unkempt with borderline inedible food. No staff in sight. I wouldn’t eat there a second time if it was included.

Negatives Disappointing for a four stay hotel . . Mini bar and snacks empty , x3 thin pillows to share, ( great for watching tv for two in bed ….not). No bottled water water out of the tap only, , no guest info book for room service menu, hotel restaurants or for local knowledge , numbers on phone do not correspond . Ring housekeeping no one answers , ring reception no one answers. Ring duty manager no one answers , the phone tabs Need to be updated . One small soap to share for two people, nope not acceptable sharing soap . Positives close to airport, teabags and milk promptly delivered by housekeeping when finally got phone numbers sorted, . Concierge gentleman very prompt in delivering bags to the room , rooms very clean .

An old 5-star hotel, walking distance to Qantas T3 (I pushed a pram to/from T3 four times, easy enough), spacious room, clean decor, nice big square window, large soft bed, powerful aircon, bathtub, roomy toilet, enough TV channels, comfy sofa, front receptionists were very friendly to me and my daughter, reasonably priced in-room dining - Singapore Curry Laksa was stunning, kids’ fish & chips were tasty and the portion was large. There’s nothing to dislike about Stamford Plaza, far better than the luxury hotel we stayed with a month ago at Circular Quay at a quarter of the price in comparison. I just saw a large group of Emirates crew checking out - this airlines’ choice does not go wrong. I paid for the most basic room, and the whole experience far exceeds my expectations. Will stay here again when transit in the future.

Poor to ZERO customer service by this man on the first picture. Very RUDE. And doesn’t know what he’s saying. Management should not put this in the reception(late night of 09/09/22) AGGRESSIVE and impolite. On the other hand: Old facilities. Smells like an old carpet. Don’t use the free shampoo if you care for your hair. Thin pillows. Empty fridge. Not even a bottle of water. On the GOOD note, Mr. Mark the F&B Manager goes ABOVE & BEYOND customer expectations. Cheers to this guy. Could have been 5 star review if not for the reception guy on the first photo.

Did a mandatory 72 hour quarantine here. There’s a COVID testing site within walking distance. The staff was lovely and very accommodating, and brought our food orders up quickly. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and we had a desk to work at and a view of the airport. Really enjoyed our stay here. The only downside is that they charge per person for the airport shuttle, which I don’t recall being listed on the reservation.

Just not cool! From the moment going in to our room. I am 185cm and my partner 179cm. Fit but still not small people! Terrible king single bed. Shocking pillows, quilt that was so thin like a babies cot style with 2 single sheets on either side. Who does that? Bathroom was run down, plumbing not working in toilet and the air conditioner didn't work. Hated the experience and never going back!

  • 1/5 Danielle H. 1 year ago on Google
Do not stay here. Rooms were dated, and sub-par, you could find much better for cheaper. The parking and food was ridiculously expensive. Also, they asked for a $200 deposit for our stay, only to never pay it back and claim it was paid to another account. We are now out of pocket $200 for a hotel I would not go back to. It’s close to the airport, but I would rather stay somewhere else and suffer the walk. This hotel is not luxury, clean, or an enjoyable stay. the only positive is the black out curtains. AVOID

Nice hotel located next to the airport approximately 10 minutes drive. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are cosy accommodated with safe, kettle not a smart tv. Bathroom had bath. Attaching some pictures. Enjoy

  • 1/5 Conor 1 year ago on Google
Avoid! "King double bed" was a king mattress mounted on two single frames, that came apart - mind the gap. Bar fridge was completely empty, restaraunt pricing ridiculous. $14 for corn flakes, $11 for bottled water. Extra $5 for room service delivery. The room was clean, besides a thin layer of dust on everything. The decor is dated, no smart TV. The water out the tap looked powdery. Never again.
