The mountain was majestic. Couldnt climb to the cave due to shortage of time. People need to learn to keep these places clean. So much litteringw as done on the main road/base of the mountain.

Jabal al-noor, where the cave of Hira is located which was the place the prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him goes for seclusion. It is also place where the first revelation was made. "Ikra'a bismi rabbikal a'ala", " Read in the name of your Lord who created ".

For people who are not fit it can take 1hour to 2 hour to reach cave hira if you take a lot of breaks for going up. It's better to take rest after every few minutes so that you don't get too much tired. For person who is very fit can reach in around 30min. Take water bottles with you. It's hot. You will need water to drink.

Jabal al-Noor, the "Mountain of Light" in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Jabal al-Noor is an amazing place that transcends physical beauty. It's a spiritual mountain where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the first revelations of the Quran inside the Cave of Hira. The climb to its summit is a spiritual journey in itself, involving effort and determination. The view from the summit is breathtaking, offering a panoramic vista of Mecca. This vantage point reminds you of the unity of the Muslim Ummah, as millions of pilgrims gather here each year during Hajj. Upon reaching the cave, you're met with a sense of humility and reverence. Jabal al-Noor is not just a mountain; it's a living testament to the origins of Islam. Visiting this sacred site is a deeply moving and spiritual experience that leaves an indelible mark on your heart and soul. It's a reminder of the enduring power of faith and the importance of seeking spiritual enlightenment.

Jabal an-Noor, 'Mountain of the Light' or 'Hill of the Illumination') is a mountain near Mecca in the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia.[1] The mountain houses the grotto or cave of Hira' (Arabic: غَار حِرَاء‎, romanized: Ghar-i-Hira, lit. 'Cave of Hira'), which holds tremendous significance for Muslims throughout the world, as the Islamic prophet Muhammad is said to have spent time in this cave meditating, and it is widely believed that it was here that he received his first revelation, which consisted of the first five ayats of Surah Al-Alaq from the angel Jibra'il (as is pronounced in certain Quran recitation schools and some Arab tribes; also known as Gabriel).[2] It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Makkah. The mountain itself is barely 640 m (2,100 ft) tall; nonetheless one to two hours are needed to make the strenuous hike to the cave. There are 1750 steps to the top which, even for a fit individual, can take anywhere between half an hour and one-and-a-half hours.

Alhamdulillah, I had an amazing experience to reach the peak of Jabal Al Noor and afterwards entered Cave of Hira'. Located near to Makkah, the mountain 640 m tall and with 1.2 km track. There was quite a crowd of pilgrims entering and coming out of the Cave of Hira'. So, caution must be taken. Got to see the view of Makkah day and night and the sunset was spectacular! I performed Maghrib prayers peak of Jabal Al Noor.

A steep hiking required to reach the peak, typically with less than an hour. Tips: The Hira cave is less crowded at midnight. So, the best time to hike is around 11.30 pm to start ascending from the gated entrance. If you need a stick to hike, better buy it at the foothills at around SAR10 each. You can also buy the torchlight if you hike at night. There are many beggars along the hike route. But there are also people selling drinks along the way.

I went here by taxi. Pick up at Le meridein makkah and many taxi rejected because of fares to high up to 40 riyal. I demend for 30riyal. And journey takes up to 19minutes and taxi stop in front of little shop on your left. Some cars can go up some cannot and you have to hike a little up and tiring. But fortunetely, my taxi go a little up and you hike about 150meters to entrance/steep stairs to hike to jabalnour. Hike at 10pm. Crowded but at the top only and you have to que to pray. Not guarantee you can pray at the top. Limited 2 persons only. What you can do is make a dua .insya Allah. I can see all ages can hikes, women and men, and little children can go hike if you are strong. Bring a headlamp. My snacks motivation only one mineral to drink when up and chcocolate drink almarai when u reach at top. Hike about 45minutes and go down 45minutes or less. You can always ask for shuttle bus/van diffferent travel agencies if you lucky to bring u to the hotel in makkah or Al Haram. Please pay or sadaqa to the ustaz of Travel agencies that willing to take you to the Al Haram. Maybe around 25-30riyal. If u bring older person, you can bring compactabile chair to sit on the entrance. On the way up, you can sadaqa to the person along the way up. They ask for donation to make a new path/stairs.

The hiking trail is about 1.40 km. It will take you 70- 150 minutes to go up and down, depends on your health condition and fitness level. The trail with steps built all the way to the top. The steps are uneven and can be slippery. Wear comfortable clothes and sport shoes. There are stands that sell water and lemonade on the trail, so bring cash. I visited Jabal Alnour on August, and it was extremely hot and highly trafficked. The summit shows views of the Al masjid al Haram and of Mecca city. This is a holy place where the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) went to meditate and is also where the Holy Quran was first revealed to him. It is very sad seeing litter everywhere on the mountain. It is NOT OKAY to throw rubbish anywhere, so PLEASE bring a bag with you to use for your trash and keep it with you until you find a trashcan to throw it.

There is a cave in this mountain called Al Hira where prophet Mohamed meditated before he attained prophethood. This is the exact place where he attained prophethood and the first 5 verses of chapter Ghalaq was revealed I trekked on this mountain at the early morning and took about 1:30 hrs to reach the cave. Along the way people are selling waters and lemonade. The cave is very crowded and mixed with both men and women. Lot of congestion at the cave. I would not recommend it for the elderly and hefty people ( because cave to be reached through a narrow passage) From the bottom till the top, steps are there though it's uneven.

Jabal Al Noor hosts gar’e hirra, a place where the prophet Muhammad(saw) received his initial revelations. Climbing to the top is not easy. The stairs are steep and raw. It’s more of a spiritual journey to go up.

I am grateful to the One in Whose Hand is my life, He has allowed me to visit this blessed place because it is the place where the first verses of Al-Quranul Kareem were revealed to our Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. I am very happy and surprised. How did he, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Hazrat Khadijah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha raise up here again and again?

This cave is located on top of Jabal-al-Nour (mountain of divine light). This is where prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) used to meditate. He received his first revelation by the Angel Gabriel here. Gabriel said 'Read'. The prophet replied 'but I can't read'. (He meant I am not educated in worldly knowledge). To this Gabriel said, "Iqra- read in the name of your Creator". The prophet's blessed and devoted wife, mother of the Umma, Hazrat Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) used to bring him food in this cave during his trips to meditate and seek Allah the Exalted. This cave is located on top of a mountain which is devoid of vegetation. Obviously, it must have been a very isolated place in Mecca at the time of the prophet but on my visit today I was sad on seeing so much plastic litter left by the pilgrims. The climb is steep however, there are steps leading all the way up to the cave which helps in climbing and descent.

The memorable mount Hira is situated on the peak of this mountain. I can’t understand how Rasul (pbuh) and Khadijah (RA) climbed this mountain to the top. Now there are stairs chiselled out of the mountain wall. After 100-200 steps there are local people waiting with lemon water to sell.

I love ❤ this place Although it is a place of importance there is no public order inside of hira cave. I waited there for two hours just to see the place with people constantly pushing each other and stepping on my legs. Humoungous and dangerous. Treachy mountain. But the stairs are carved which makes it easier for people to climb on top of the mountain.

It is the mountain where cave of Hira is situated, where first revelation (Wahi) was revealed.

It can be very very crowded. A market has been set up with various trinkets, beads, prayer mats to buy, we didn't manage to reach to the top as it was so busy. Be careful of the beggars, make sure you stick with the group or select an area to meet at a selected time, it's easy to lose focus of time.

Jabal Al Noor is one of the Islamic Historical Places that is the Prophet Muhammad got his first 'wahyu' there. Our travel agency brought all of the jemaah there for hiking at night at Jabal Al Noor. You can go there in day too but I would not recommend that because it is all sunny and hot with the heat from people who visit and the sunlight that shine. Alhamdulillah my mother and I managed to hike all the way to hilltop of Jabal Al Noor. My father came right 15 mins behind us. We could not go to the Hira' Cave because the steps are so steep.

Gharay Hira on Jabal Noor, very scared place and on its original shape. Muslim must visit and experience the journey to top of cave, it is not easy difficult for older people and better for younger but love to reach on top is exception.

The hike needs physical strength and agility. Make sure you stay hydrated. This is steep mountain...
