👍 Indian restaurant. Good currys ready to eat. I ordered the lamb and pumpkin with both rice and naan which took about 10 minutes as it is mad to order depending on how hot you want it. Indian restaurant. Good currys ready to eat. I ordered the lamb and pumpkin with both rice and naan which took about 10 minutes as it is mad to order depending on how hot you want it. I asked for hot and it was just right. Friendly service with a smile. Give it a try! Stopped by again now that the restrictions have come off. Staff not wearing masks, no QR codes or signing in. Seating area closed.

Not very good. Curry was way too sweet. The poppadoms stale. Not very appetizing! Disposable plates very weak and not built to hold a curry. Asked for another plate to give it some strength but told I’d have to pay for it. Give it a miss and head to Flora on Flinders Street. More authentic and tastier by far if you’re in the neighborhood.

JUST OK FOR FOOD QUALITY AND FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Bombay Bar is a "bain marie" type fast food outlet within the food court at Emporium. Good vegetarian options but overall the quality is somewhat lower than other outlets in the food court. Although you don't *expect* much in terms of customer service at these outlets, looking up at the customer or even a "hello" would make for a more pleasant transaction :( It does have its own dedicated seating which is handy on busy days. As it is in Emporium, people with mobility issues will have no problems.. no steps, easy access to tables.

The conduct of the 2 female staff members at Bombay Bar during my visit on Saturday 21st October, 2023 around 12:20pm was unacceptable. Aside from constantly saying "no no" in disagreement each time I asked a question around their menu, the 2 female members failed to understand what was asked of them to begin with and then accused me of not listening when I had explained to them that I was not asking about the express meal which she kept referring to. When I went to walk away as they were both being rude and arrogant they both laughed at me and so I returned and asked what was so funny? The staff member then said that I wasn't listening in which I explained to her that it was in fact her inability to understand what was being asked to begin with around their product menu including how many curries could be purchased and whether a naan bread could replace the rice in which she continued to disagree. Her colleague stood by and kept laughing in which I advised they were both rude and that such customer service will mean no business for them. They essentially chased away a sale - not my problem, less money for you.

Inspite of telling them twice the naan is not perfectly cooked, they didn’t even bothered to cook it properly and said what can I do. Also denied to take it back and return money. No salt in the rice. Very disappointing service and food taste.

Female Indian worker name Sibred (unless they lied) they were hesitant to tell me her name when I asked for it and she hid at the back when I asked. She was giving me attitude and eye rolling while I was ordering. Sibred attitude serve customers was horrible. When I spoke to manager they said she was new?? A new worker shouldn’t be eye rolling at customers when taking orders??? I don’t know how that relates. HORRIBLE PEOPLE AND SERVICE.

We gravitated to Bombay Bar in need of a literal ten minute lunch before a massage and I loved the flavour of the butter chicken sauce. The chicken pieces weren’t overly soft but it’s a good bet in the food. The other curries in the bain marie were vibrant and inviting

The negative reviews are from a bunch of Karens. If you like tasty curry with some legit spice, go here. Cheep and delicious - A curry loving Brit

Half a star is also too much, google requires to choose one star mandatorily to post a review. Extremely shocked & disappointed by the rude customer service experience by the two female employees at the front counter of this restaurant who would not even agree to serve plain tap water despite multiple requests by my child and then me. It happened today around 3-3.15 pm. Instead, they would keep arguing in circles, my advice, don’t go here again, unless one wants to get insulted. Owners have been here in the past and treated nicely but the choice of customer service representatives is shocking :(

Decent place for a lunchtime pitstop during some shopping at Melbourne central. The curries are pretty flavourful (ordered the Chicken madras & eggplant masala) and the butter naans were good too. The lassi & gulab Jamuns were also tasty but the raita was way too sweet. Only downside was the portions being pretty small for how much you pay, definitely a bit overpriced

The customer service fell short of expectations. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. The food, unfortunately, did not meet our expectations either. The dishes were lacking in flavor and freshness. Tandoori chicken was burned and very dry and the staff refused to exchange it.

The lady who served me asked if I could wait for more food to be cooked. I did, got it, and the chicken was cold. Told her this is the size of 1 serving, not 2, then was told it's enough. Also sat at the seating area and was told she won't bring it out. I can wait at the counter for my food. Worst Bombay, I have been to. Would not recommend it!!!

Ordered the butter chicken and garlic Naan. Good value for money. The butter chicken was ok, in my opinion it was a little too sweet and abit sour and chicken want as succulent as other restaurants I've had. The garlic Naan is baked in front of you, kind of.

If it were possible to rate them negatively, I definitely would. After placing a food order at 4:00 PM, I was informed that the seating area was closed as they shut down at 5:00 PM. Despite this, when I expressed my preference not to eat there, the girl who served me engaged in an argument, accusing me of being rude. Frankly, if they don't want to serve me, I'd rather not be their customer

I asked for a vegetable roll but they gave me chicken. I have got to know after having a bite. Being vegetarian I feel really really bad.

Used to order here a bit before covid. Went back today and was shocked at how little curry you get (average quality) for $18 takeaway. Are you joking? You get a huge serve of rice with two spoons of curry. Cooked terribly I might add. Never again.

Very overpriced for what you get. Rice & chicken curry was barely warm. Mostly rice & sauce & they charged $14.50. I was still hungry afterwards. Never again.

The food was really nice.. but one of the staff was not behaving right. She placed the food on the table and yelled at us saying to come and collect the food next time. Isn’t it their service to serve the food?

I purchased eggplant curry rice and naan.. quality of curry was the worst as compared to before what I used to have here before lockdown. Way too much food color was dumped in the curry and literally my throat was sore after having the curry. All my fingers along with lips and tongue went dark red ..so imagine the level of color in the curry... just yuck...Cheapest quality ever. Not recommend any more.. Wish there was a zero star..

Not sure what happened to this place. Maybe change of hand of lock down? Used to be tasty and cheap now it's expensive and OK at best. Rice very bland and almost wet, veg korma way too sweet and the tikka was nice but again sweet. Garlic naan was nice. 2 dish + rice + naan was $20 which is too much for a food court and this quality.

Best Indian food I had in years! I honestly didn’t expect that from such a little place in the middle of a food court. Big portions for reasonable price and so tasty! The staff is very professional and lovely. 100 % worth it!

We are a retired couple. My wife has health issues, including high blood pressure. As such we have to be careful with the food we eat, especially with the salt content. We do not like to eat bland food either. At Bombay Bar Emporium, we found the right balance between spicyness, saltiness and taste compatible with our health. Our favourite is the garlic naan with chicken tikka and vegetable korma. We eat lunch here almost every Sunday whenever we come into the CBD.
