@springstreetgrocer 📍CBD ➖ Reuben Toastie ➖ Cheese Cellar Toastie Spring Street Grocer located in Melbourne CBD is a hub for locally sourced, handmade, and ethically produced products. From gelati, panini to artisanal cheese, their offerings represent their commitment to supporting local suppliers. It is inspired by owners Con Christopoulos and Joshua Brisbane (@theeuropeanmelbourne, @siglobar, @citywineshop) European travels. 🧀 We popped by early morning to try out a couple of their panini, after walking past their display board a day before. All options sounded delicious and under $15. The Reuben was perfectly balanced, but felt light it needed something punchy. The Cheese Cellar was very very basic, and was soft/soggy on one side. 🥪 Decent coffee and wet chai, all served by friendly staff. Not a bad option in the CBD, especially if you prefer something more simple, however there is a lot of incredible competition in the area that may impress more. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Staff were friendly, thoughtful and eager to assist (even though one of them must have been very fresh and didn't know the products yet). It is like a small, charming European style paradise for select foodie items, with a quaint cafe out the front. The woman who made my coffee must have been very concerned as she wanted me to take the coffee as I was browsing in case it became cold. It is amazing to experience such genuine care and a barista who is serious about the quality of her work. Highly recommended for discerning foodies.

What the best sandwiches on this side of the city if not the best sandwiches in the city? This is the place to go. So many options to suit everybody! Absolutely delicious and served with potato crops! So yummy

Walking past and called in to get coffees (flat white and decaf soy latte) which were terrible. Takeaway cup was so light I had to take lid off to check they'd actually given me some coffee but all I got was a couple of sips and heaps of froth. However I did like the look of the place with its nicely presented goods on display, mainly Italian pantry goods but also some fresh bread and a great looking walk-in cheese room. Also tantalisingly a spiral staircase down to..what...don't know it was dark (storage probably). So I don't know what to make of this place, it looks so appealing but the coffee, amongst the worst I've had.

Can never go wrong with the fresh gelato here. All the flavours are exactly how you would expect. Extra creamy and delicious. Perfect on a late night out!

Very cute grocery store with international items and a coffee and ice-cream shop on the entry to the store. Seating available. Staff friendly and cheerful

Went here for gelato. Tried pistachio cardamom..too sweet and tastes mainly of cardamom. The stracchiatella with mint tasted very coriander like. The other pistachio flavour was nice and nutty but could have been less sweet.

Has always been our random pop-up gelati bar at night right all the way from when I was at uni many years ago! I’ve always loved the unusual flavours, but always flock there for the coconuts, the pandans & pistachios varieties & unique sweet treats! Love it! Added Sept 2023... Keep popping in continuously after a feast in the CBD! The rosewater & nuts gelato was 👌🏼👌🏼 And the beautiful barista that served us Wednesday night was so lovely! Thank you for our gelatos and espressos! We loved the beautiful energy you brought forward into your store that night and to us! You helped a local with produce from the grocery store even though that section was closed, now that was customer service above and beyond and you did it with such genuine love ❤️ Keep Doing what you're doing 🫶🙌🏼🙏 Truly is such a special place.

This little shop has been feeding many public servants for years. It only sells high-quality produce, and if you can resist the gelato near the front, then you’ll be rewarded with the cheese selection down in the basement.

This store has a expansive array of things everything from saffron ,honey, dark chocolate from Ecuador would recommend even if you’re not buying anything needless to say it’s excellent. The five stars I’ve gave them are well and truly deserved

If you want to get the same burgers and buns from Butcher's Diner, this is where you'd go! Lovely staff and made more patties for me to fulfill the order. Recommend gettiing their calling card so that you can call them ahead of time and pick up stuff.

ordered a couple of the large cheese platters for a corporate event. Very easy to do, they don't deliver, but you can nominate a pick up time and they were ready. Although I ordered two boards, they were not identical, so both had a blue, but a different blue, many compliments

For anyone coming to watch a show during night at princess theatres, would definitely recommend this place to grab a hot toastie and a coffee. The area is covered with restaurants and bars but this is the only place offering affordable hot drinks during a cold winter night. Though the coffee I had had cooled off to a certain amount, I was appreciating the fact that a place like that existed. There's also an adjacent shop selling all kinds of cheese, yoghurt, pastas etc. owned by them.

This is merely re: their coffee. Unfortunately, it was not good. All we tasted was milk and though ours were meant to be flat whites, we still had about 3cm of froth. Could not taste coffee. Service was friendly and polite though.

Love this place. Great salads, pre-made meals in the fridge for you to take away, and awesome hot pies and pasties too...not to mention amazing gelati! Yum, yum, yum!!

They have a small range of produce available as well as a selection of drinks and other condiments. It's the closest cafe in proximity to parliament station as well so that is good. Do be aware though that they are certainly not cheap.

Order the Ruben toasted it's to die for, served with salt and vinegar chips, somthing unique. The Grocer has all those hand made products as well. Serving Gelato and of cause fantastic coffee, try a dirt chai with your toasted, perfect!

Best gelati in Melbourne town! Please get the pistachio gelato (if you’re a pistachio fan). It’s incredibly rich in flavour and feels like you’re having freshly minced pistachios with a luxurious creamy texture. DIVINE.

Love the cheese room in this place! You get to try before you buy all the cheeses. I esp like their truffle cheese and their oh-so-creamy traditionalbrie. The prices do add up though which is painful when you pay for it at the end. Also their other groceries there is somewhat pricey.

Cute little eatery, great service and coffee. Was surprised with paper cups but, apart from that was really impressed. A great little spot to catch up and so close to parliament station which was very handy for myself.

The home made sausage roll with tomato sauce was amazing! The staff were friendly, gelato is delicious and a different range of food in the grocery is a nice change. The coffee was only ok as a mocha with barely chocolate powder, but the main reason for my 5 stars is that they are always open when you need them and there’s nothing else in the area with the same convenient hours!

😠 Very poor experience today. While trying to compare 3 different coffee beans, when I set one down to look at another, I had a staff member take the packages away from me and put them away. When I'm still standing there and looking at them, I don't appreciate having them taken from me. And when I...
