A tremendously helpful treatment. After 30 years of trying to find an answer I finally got what I was looking for at Melbourne Headache Centre. The treatment is not at all painful and asks very little of the patient. The information about headaches and how the brain works was informative and explained to me in a way I could understand how my headaches were occurring. I no longer need migraine preventative medication and can clearly identify the differences between headaches (if they even occur) and how I can effectively treat them when needed. Really impressed with the result.

I was experiencing vestibular migraines up to five times a week while on migraine medication during a particularly challenging time in my life. Instead of changing or adding to the medication I was on I decided to do some research and came across the Watson Technique which led me to Roger O’Toole. In my experience, vestibular migraines cannot be treated fully once an attack occurs. I could treat the nausea and vomiting but not the dissociation (with everything and everyone around me) constant feeling of falling or unsteadiness and loss of proprioception. Roger has cured me of vestibular migraines for six weeks now and I’m hopeful it will stay this way. If not, I will be back for slight minor tweaking of my neck. Either way, the treatment was life changing. Thankyou.

I've suffered for ten years with cervicogenic headache and migraine. Tried EVERYTHING. Spent sooo much money on chiro, osteo, myo, neurologists. I was resigned to this beig my lot- headaches up to 4 times a week and I was miserable. I found The Melb Headache Clinic during a desperate fit of Googling and it has changed my life. I saw Dylan for six sessions and it's been remarkable how my quality of life has improved. I have had maybe 4 headaches in over 6 months and I could clearly link them to slacking off with the exercises I was taught. Highly recommend if headaches are making your life challenging or you're at your wit's end like I was!

I recently had the pleasure of being assessed by and receiving treatment from Roger O’Toole , a physiotherapist at Melbourne Headache Centre His thorough , empathic as well as detailed care and work were beyond any expectations I had . It is rare but also very inspiring to find such a combination of expertise , passion about a particular area of health needs and the fantastic level of care Roger provides . I am very grateful for the time he spent with me , he is highly recommended.

I will be forever grateful to Dylan - he explained the process thoroughly and at no point I felt under pressure to continue with the treatment. He was very clear that if the treatment didn't work, then there would be no point in persevering with it. I feel now much better and the maintenance exercises are now part of my daily routine.

I have been working with Zoe from the Melbourne headache centre to treat my vestibular migraines. The dizziness has gone completely and I am looking forward to long term self management. Zoe is so empathetic and explains everything to you, helping you to feel reassured throughout the process. The treatment method is so simple and not invasive at all. The exercises are easy to follow and can be done anywhere. I’m so happy I stumbled across the Watson approach as it has improved my life significantly!

Cannot recommend this clinic enough! Roger has truly saved my life - I have experienced daily migraines since I was 16 and had barely any quality of life. Every type of medication failed on me and I thought I was out of options, until I decided to give this clinic a go. I am so grateful I did, as Roger has helped me so much in just a short amount of time - I am now able to work, travel and live my life while doing simple stretches that help keep migraines away. Thank you so much Roger!!

I had a great experience at this multidisciplinary clinic. My migraines have definitely reduced in severity and frequency which is a huge win after trying many other interventions. The process took time and wasn’t always comfortable but worth it for me in the end. Thanks, Dylan!

Such a relief to see a huge improvement in my Son (12 years Old) only after 3 treatments his headaches have eased from 3 Migraines each week to 4 mild headaches in a month! Very happy with the results, and will continue treatment if it means our Sons intake of pain medication will be limited. Thank you Roger for being honest and upfront from the start.

I was impressed and pleased to have my headache reviewed and treated in a sound neurological and analytical way rather than a simple assumption of neck tension which was simply treated with a massage. Roger's treatment largely resolved my issues in an ongoing way without the need for constant repeated treatments. I doubt I will need to see Roger again but if I have any other issues he will be the first practitioner I think of.

I can't thank Roger O'Toole and the Melbourne Headache Centre enough. Having suffered from regular migraines and headaches almost daily for over ten years, I noticed a difference even after the first treatment. Everything was explained in easy to understand terms and although the treatment seemed simple (and non intrusive), its effects have been incredible. No more headaches or migraines but also no more brain fog either. I had tried the Watson approach with others but had no success. I'm so glad I didn't give up and decided to give it one last try by seeing Roger who now, in my mind and experience, is the leader in this treatment. Thank you so much for changing my life!

After months of unpredictable stabbing, crushing, blinding headaches - pull over and stop driving kind of headaches, and a range of diagnoses from the ED, and the Dr, and the other Dr, and meds that weren't working, I was recommended to try here. They've resolved the headaches, and with a simple exercise morning and night (and sure, sometimes, I forget, but that's ok) the headaches are gone. Simple treatment, effective, thank you Dylan!

I'm so glad I found this place! Dr Roger O'Toole has been an amazing assistance and ally with the treatment of my migraines. After years of getting brushed over by GPs, he was the first professional I found who took my migraines seriously, explained the concept of the migraine brain (the first time I'd ever heard that) how the brain reads pain, causes and triggers, and explained how his treatment could help potentially alleviate some of my migraines. And I'm so pleased to say it has! I always knew my neck was an issue with my migraines, but Roger helps me manage it and gave me the tools to be confident to manage it on my own. I'd recommend this service to anyone who's suffering from migraines or bad headaches - even if Roger's treatments aren't going to fix your problem, you'll come out of your session with him feeling heard and more knowledgeable about your symptoms and causes. 10/10!

Have recently completed a series of appointments with Dylan. From the outset, full and comprehensive explanations were provided of what to expect, what I needed to do and how the process worked. He was very frank in explaining that this isn't an instant fix but it does take several appointments to fully treat the core issue. This is fair enough, after all, I wouldn't have made the appointment if I only ever got a few headaches. Dylan's professionalism never wavered. He explained complex medical concepts in clear/layman terms to give me an understanding of the cause of headaches/migraines and provide full transparency as to what he was working on. Any homework provided was accompanied by clear written instructions and contact information provided to ask questions during the week if needed. There has absolutely been a noticeable change in my headaches (or dare I say, lack thereof). I was prepositioned that there would may be quarterly check-ins but was told today 'you probably don't need our help actually...come back when you need it'. This honesty was refreshing. Important note, if you're attending a headache specialist, it's probably because headaches are significantly impacting your life. I viewed this as an investment into an improved life. This shouldn't be viewed as a quick fix. It's a process that has a cost...like any medical profession. Worth every dollar spent! Thanks Dylan!

I went to MHC after suffering yet another severe migraine with 2 days of constant vomiting. I have had migraines for over 30 years and have tried numerous natural remedies ie acupuncture, diet, exercise. I found Roger to be extremely knowledgeable and honest in his treatment. I was not promised a 'magical' cure but rather an explanation for his treatment method. I have followed Roger's advice to the letter and, to date (6 weeks after my last migraine which usually occur every 4-6weeks) have been migraine free. Over the busy Xmas period this in itself is 'magical'. I am making the most of this migraine free time. Good luck to you too :)

Very knowledgable and caring staff. I was experiencing silent migraines, and symptoms disappeared on first treatment. I've had a couple of follow-up treatments, and had no issues since then. Highly recommend.

It's hard to believe that after so many years of constant hospital admissions my daughter is doing well 😊 for any cyclic vomiting patient I honestly can't find the words to describe the difference that Rogers treatment has made to my daughters quality of life when we found Melbourne headache centre we were just at the end of the road tired sad and exhausted they really could not even get drips in any more but this treatment has made all the difference it's been a massive blessing and I thank God everyday if you have any thing related to vomiting I believe that this could help you πŸ™πŸΎ

I have been suffering from cluster headaches for most of my adult life. We're talking periods of up to 30+ days where I have debilitating headaches daily and although I might only have these periods occasionally, it was really taking a toll on my quality of life. My partner put me on to the Melbourne Headache Centre and urged me to book in and I am so glad that I did. Roger was very informative and transparent throughout the whole treatment and had no problems explaining to me the techniques used or why he was using them. After 5 sessions I noticed a huge change and now, quite a long time after seeing him (sorry I took so long to leave this Roger! I don't even know how long it has been), I can say that the treatment was life changing for me. It wasn't just what he did or the time spent in session with him that helped the most, it was the technique he showed me that I could perform on myself moving forwards to help manage and avoid future periods of clusters without the need to go back in. I have made it a habit to practice what he showed me and to this day (touch wood) I have not had another cluster period. I highly recommend that if you suffer from cluster headaches, and you are on the fence about whether you should see them or not, do yourself a favor and just book in a session.

I cannot thank Dylan enough for helping me with my headaches. I was suffering from daily headaches for months but that slowly decreased and eventually went away completely when I started seeing him. I highly recommend Melbourne Headache Centre.

Having been treated for migraines for many years with medication the treatment was so helpful in lessening severity and frequency. Dylan was so informative, genuine and thorough in his approach. I now have a greater capacity to do life without worrying whether I'm going to be incapable of doing things. I highly recommend anyone to try this treatment, especially if you've been suffering for so long like myself

Dylan at Melbourne Headache Centre changed my life! I have suffered from migraines since I was a child, but they became worse in my mid 20s and unbearable over the past 3 years. I constantly had a low level headache and 4 days a week would have a migraine. Dizziness, nausea, brain fog, headache - the works. I couldn't even lift a dinner plate with my left hand without triggering a migraine. It greatly affected my work, home life, mental health and relationships. I'm 5 weeks post my initial session and I haven't had a headache (let alone a migraine!) since my 4th session. I have my life back! All my sensitivities have gone, including my IBS (which I didn't even know was a symptom of my migraine). It wasnt a linear journey, but it was 100% worth every cent and I would recommend it to anyone who is suffering with migraine the way I was! Thank you Dylan and MHC, I will be forever grateful!

My daughter was missing a lot of school due to weekly/fortnightly migraines from year 7 to start of year 9. Much of it was stress influenced, sport and partly diet as well but she missed too much education and our home life was pushed to the brink. We have worked on those since, but what made that achievable in the first place was the fast pain relief achieved by Roger. We had regular sessions initially to check how well the treatment held and then was adjusted accordingly. Now, we see him only when required but I think it has been over 12 months. THANK YOU! Our family has our lives back now and my daughter is finally thriving.

I've had migraines after every run for the past 3 years. After a handfull of visits I'm now up to 7 runs migraine free. The service is fantastic and friendly. Dylan had me sorted in no time and told me exactly what he was doing and why. It really helped me understand how to prevent migraines in the future. I highly recommend if you are having issues with migraines.

The treatments here have been truly life changing for me. For 50+ years I've suffered from debilitating migraines. My story is much like those of others who have left reviews--have seen everybody, tried everything. Some things work momentarily. Other efforts failed. Drugs keep the migraines somewhat manageable, but the side effects are also challenging. About 4 years ago, I discovered that gluten was a major trigger, but not the whole story. Stress is also a trigger and I've suspected for many years that ongoing neck and shoulder pain was somehow involved. Dylan met and discussed at length with me the long history, was candid in telling me that these treatments wouldn't help everyone, and told me that we would know fairly quickly if I was a good candidate. Thankfully I was and the treatments have been miraculous. A few folks have commented on the price. For me, the bargain of a lifetime. Infinite gratitude, Dylan.

After 5 years of attempting to find relief for my cervicogenic migraines through myotherapy and chiropractic interventions, I am finally at a place where my migraines are no longer affecting my life! I've been under the care of Dylan for a few months now and he is absolutely fantastic. He explained my condition in a way that was very thorough yet easy for me to follow and was very informative and gentle during treatment but in a way I knew it was working. I particularly love at the clinic the patients are encouraged to continue maintenance at home with gentle exercises so it is much more sustainable than visiting a chiropractor regularly. Prior to the initial assessment, I received a phone call from the clinic and the lovely lady was very helpful and gave me a detailed rundown of the program (what is involved/frequency/cost) and booked all the appointments for me in advance so it was all stress free! I can't recommend Melbourne Headache Centre and Dylan enough for helping me to function like I did prior to developing migraines! Thank you!!

I highly recommend Dylan at Melbourne Headache Centre! I have had vestibular migraines for many years. After having tried multiple physio's, pilates, neurologists, and medications, I went to this clinic and finally have had success! In Feb/March 2023 (prior to treatment) I was having daily migraines (balance disturbance, nausea and dissociation). After treatment I have had approx. only 3 minor migraines over 4 months. I would highly recommend this clinic and have recently sent my mum there who has also had great results. :)

I stumbled across the headache centre when my son was having a horrific migraine at the end of his cyclical vomiting 3 day episode. At this point he was vomiting for up to 3 days straight every 8 weeks like clockwork since he was 9 months old and I was desperate to help him. He had seen a range of doctors and paediatricians while have numerous tests done with the only answers being that he had this syndrome. He was on medication and nothing was helping. I was told he would grow out of it but more than likely he would suffer migraines instead which is no life for a 4 year old. We saw Dr Dylan who was simply AMAZING! He was up front and honest the entire time. Now magic cure was promised and it was very much a wait and see after treatment. We have not had an episode in 10 weeks which is just amazing as we have not gone past 8 weeks in years! We have a solid plan should he have another one in the future. I am one grateful mother! Please if you are suffering from migraines or cyclical vomiting or similar reach out to the headache centre to see if they can help. We are forever grateful!
