Absolutely abysmal customer service - I have asked SIX times now why for the last 4 months 3 rowing machines have been missing, leaving only 1. I have asked face to face and kept being told someone would call me - they never have. I have also sent two emails which are clearly being ignored. Maybe I should block next months direct debit payment - no doubt I will have someone from there on the phone to me in 5 mins!.... I even called a week ago to chase up my emails again - even now, still no reply! Starting to wonder if there is any form of management there at all. Supposedly there is a guy called 'Jordan' who is gym manager - does he even exist???? Absolute disgrace - take my advice, if you are looking for a leisure centre which is professionally run with even just a basic level of customer service, cross David Lloyd Cranmore Boulevard off your list - you have been warned!!!. There is a Bannantyne and also Virgin gym, as well as several independent ones in close proximity to this gym - so plenty of local alternatives with surely much better customer service! You would have thought that with plenty of local competition this would motivate them to get off their backsides and look after their clients - apparently not though. Smacks of total arrogance, laziness or both.....

Very poor experience today. Although members were not allowed to bring guests due to hot weather, supposedly to improve quality of experience of members using outdoor pool, the club has handed out numerous 14 day trials and the outdoor pool was swamped with non members. Do not join this club if you want value for money as they don't care about their longstanding members . Edit: why cause overcrowding with 14 day trials 😠 when you know existing members will want to use outdoor pool area in summer holidays? Maybe exlude outdoor pool area from trials when weather is nice 🤔. Further the water is now cloudy indicating it is not clean 🤮

Good gym, but please read ; I was banned for apparently ‘aggressive’ behaviour , the first incident came when the lady working as a PT jumped in on her boyfriends behalf, the machine looked vacant, and I was interrupted with a rude tirade. Good manners are important. The next incident the bcaa drink machine was closed at 12:00 in the afternoon, when it should be open for customers to use, I told the waiter this, and a ‘lady’ accused me of being rude.

Was interested in membership. Arrived this morning for pre booked tour of club 10:00. Checked in. Non appearance of person meant to show me round. Left at 10:20, couldn't wait any longer. Girl at reception was welcoming as I arrived and apologetic when I left. Will try other options in the area.

As a David Lloyd Platinum member I have used gyms all across the country as I travel a lot for work. Unfortunately, the Solihull gym which used to be my home gym a few years back has really dropped in standards. I cam today to workout to find 3 key pieces of equipment broken and no member of staff on the gym floor available to help. There is also only one rope in the whole gym for tricep pulldowns. Poor quality and service especially for the price you have to pay.

Great refurbishment and I love the new equipment in the Gym. One or two small details need to be addressed. One of them being that there should be a seat next to the Bodytrax machine so that you can put your socks and trainers on after you have used it. Also some if the new installations in the Gym don't seem to have any instructions as to how to use them. But these are only minor points.....

Extremely poor service. After paying for yearly subscription, all i am asking for an invoice and no one is able to give me that. It has been 2 months. How long does it really take for tuis type of requests? I have been to the centre twice and they said i can't get from there and I have to ask this via app by submitting the query and someone will call me. I did that after a week i get a call and that person says they can't do this and I have to ask in reception. I am calling in reception from last two days and all i am getting is someone from admin when they come at 11 am they will send me. I am still waiting to get the invoice copy. Extremely irritated by this service.

Quality is average. The new gym floor is better, still air circulation is poor. Water dispenser barely works... takes an hour to fill a bottle!!! Blaze is decent when you can get a booking. Rackets is shocking, can hardly get a booking 4pm-8pm daily on any court!! or weekend morning. Eyes sting in the jacuzzi. Sauna is mix of old and new. Steam is ok. Shampoo dispenser is mostly empty. Towels are barely towels not suitable for men size. Outdoor pool not cleaned often. No proper spa as such. App has many glitches, needs to be improved!! Annual prices increases but the facilities are still average.

Discrimination and you FEEL you're not welcome...Currently have an outstanding case on resolver which I have attempted to escalate to the regional manager on Resolver and operations manager. I am both an ex employee and ex member, David Lloyd have tried to take money from me in both roles I don't owe them. As an employee I felt discriminated against and again as a black female member of the gym. I have left as a result. I am now being pursued by DL for £330 despite me attempting to pay my outstanding balance of £132 since June. DL have refused to allow me to pay into a bank account of thier choice, via a link or via automatic card payment for a certain date. The only option I have been given is they will arrange to call me at certain time which hasn't worked so far. Also cant ring membership anymore to make payments because its all online and conversations that would take minutes take days! I am an ex employee and I am being treated in this way, it is also worth noting that my ex general manager at another Birmingham DL is now manager here. I have emailed and called over the past couple of weeks and I am being ignored. When I left the gym as an employee during Covid in 2020 I was told I would have to wait a year to join a David Lloyd as I could potentially look to train clients so I waited and then contacted Cranmore to join, I was told I was banned due to the way I left. I left my job because I was underpayed by over £300 and had the nerve to figure this out and demand it. I have been pursued by a DCA who have now returned the case to DL because I sent them evidence of the harassment I'm receiving and the fact I'm an ex employee. I believe I am a victim of direct discrimination and I would strongly suggest that if you are a person of colour, in Birmingham at least and Solihull definitely, avoid this place because they don't want us there.

On a 14 day trial, deciding whether to stay. Biggest difference compared to my current gym is how much more respectful people are. No empty plastic bottles and wrappers shoved in bushes in the car park, no paper towels left on machines, no chewing gum discarded in water placements etc. Shout out to the cleaning team who also keep the place looking lovely! Hopefully they are never overlooked. Expensive but loads to do there - including social things, and a real diversity in equipment and racquets. 4 stars as parts of the gym are unbearably warm and sauna wasn’t working - may have been fixed now. Shout out to the squash coach too, super nice.

Extremely busy, had to queue for too long for trial membership in December. Barely acknowledged by staff, said I would receive a call to discuss membership but didn't. Certainly not a covid secure gym barely any space to move

Not convinced the million pound refurb is great value in all areas but the club is looking tidy and pretty much everything is working as it should. Still a lot of money per month though for membership

It is nice gym. Very nice kids swim/play area after renovation. It have big car park with special parking spots. The crew is very ppl friendly. The only reason to not get 5 star rating is following: men sauna door not closing correctly resulting low temperature (reported many times but nothing has been done), some of the men showers are leaking, dryer is offen broken. If you have admistration case prepare for long waiting time (weeks or more if you not chase)

Very busy Monday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm. You cannot find parking, if so, you walk a distance to David Lloyd; may get wet when it rains. Poor customer service from few staff at reception. May not find any spare lockers in the changing room. When you go and exercise most of the gym equipment are in use during busy periods. Also, sauna and jacuzzi are fully occupied sometimes not working. It pricey especially when too many people go at the same time.

I have been a member of the club for years along with the family and hate to write a negative review after all this time. Over the last year the badminton facilities especially have gone downhill. 4 courts are now shared for two sports for about twice the number of members than earlier. Courts are hardly ever available now in the week for 6-8 pm slots. I have on many occasions almost tripped over balls from tennis court and pickleball coming in to the court. Other health and safety issues include water dripping from the ceiling on the courts, no temperature control and no improvement by the management after many members have complained on the issues. Steam room is also poorly maintained now. Every facility I've used also seems a lot more crowded. The club appears to have added far more members without provisions for additional facilities and doesn't have the feel or appeal of a premium club anymore.

Best David Lloyd club I’ve visited! I was well taken care of by Ahmet, Jordan and the team. A lot of attention to detail in the club including the excellent lighting in the gym which created the right ambience to workout in.

Recently joined this club, especially enjoying using the pools and even joined the Aqua class. The instructor was great, asked if i had any injuries and gave good instructions. Cant wait to try out some more classes! We have also used the Clubroom, the flatbreads were really nice and the team were very friendly. Real club feel, keep up the hard work!

Baffling communication, very poor management, overcrowded classes, dirty changing rooms, unsafe car park, overall horrible gym which is more of a sauna then a gym ( I could go on). Do not recommend! Does the general manager - supposedly ‘Jordan’ even exist? Been promised a call back three times over the last 3 months and this has not taken place yet Libby who handles the emails for the memberships goes missing, she seems to email once and then forget how to respond, maybe she needs training on how to reply to emails? Very frustrating experience I am trying to now leave the gym and it’s painfully difficult, wish I never joined!

Facilities are great, love the pools and enjoy trying out all the different classes. There really is something for everyone! They even put on some events unlike other gyms, like live music and fireworks night. We will be bringing the whole family.

I've recently moved to the area and joined this gym. The facilities are exceptional and the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. I was toured around the establishment by "Josh Dent". Who was super friendly and down to earth. Josh made me feel part of the David Lloyd Community. Since joining Josh has also helped me with advice on the local community and as someone who has just moved to the area this is more than I could have ever asked for. He clearly goes above and beyond in his job role. He is a great asset and blessing to your team.

Great staff. Personal training sessions are personally suited to ability. Not been to a gym in 25 years and could easily go everyday. Facilities are great and best bit is my son who's 13 can use the gym which is impossible to find at other gyms. Classes easy to book. Nice to have indoor and outdoor pool. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Recently joined this club after looking at the local alternatives but after speaking to josh it was a done deal, he took the time to show me around all the different facilities and explained the different membership options. If you're thinking of joining I'd recommend having a chat with Josh he was so friendly and honest and helped me pick the best membership for me.

I have recently joined David Lloyd and couldn’t be happier with the facilities and services on offer. All the staff are super helpful and lovely, especially Josh who took me for the initial walk around, he explained everything there was to know and answered all of my questions or concerns, was extremely polite, helpful and excellent with the little one and really took the time to understand our requirements. Honestly couldn’t ask for more

I have been a member at this club for over 2 years and I would really recommend ! The facilities are amazing, especially the group exercise classes and Blaze. The instructors are really helpful during classes, providing adapted exercises for injuries. All staff are so friendly and the family activities are such fun! Me and my family really enjoy the quiz nights and there is wide range of food on offer too!

As with all clubs they can never get 100% right all of the time.... family event by the outdoor pool and too many chairs/beds been used for towels and sliders with no one at them... I'd still recommend the place but companies could organise this better...!!

Pool was okay. Sauna bench was broken and felt like your going to fall through it. Didn’t feel safe. Worst was the steam room. Stunk so bad didn’t last 20 seconds. No wonder it was empty. Heard they’re getting a big refurbishment. They really need it

The indoor swimming pool is really great. The one outside is very small (good length but 1 lane only )and without lighting it is impossible to swim at night. Temperature inside a bit chilly.

It’s great in the whole. Let down by it taking ages to fill up our water bottles upstairs. My family plan is paying nearly £200 a month for a membership, so you would hope the water fountains would work well

Recently joined David Lloyd, staff friendly and helpful, facilities are great although some of the equipment like the bikes and treadmills are often out of order. The swimming pools are fabulous, changing rooms are large with good facilities. Lovely bar/cafe to sit and have a drink and/or something to eat. Plenty of various classes, tennis courts etc.... lots to do 👍

A very good experience myself and my associate had last Friday, the gym has amazing facilities really knocks it out the park for that, we are still deciding on another gym however just with in the price range, but this gym may just persuade us to join. A special mention to Arden one of the Gym Floor and tour employees, he went out of his way to make sure we had a tour and went into great detail about the more specific things around the gym, showing us special features, and giving us the time despite I imagine him being under pressure with other work load. Arden is a credit to your company, and you should do your very best to hold onto the young man, his customer service delivery was great, as someone who's worked in the sector I can appreciate Good service, once we have checked out a gym nearby I will ring back and personally thank him once again, he showed us the membership options and dealt with our many questions expertly.

Im a current member of the gym that visits 3-4 times a week. Calls to reception are very hard to get answered sometimes, the mens sauna has been closed for 4 weeks! The sauna door also hasn't closed properly since I've been a member resulting in low temps and a ruined experience, reported many times but nothing has been done. I would love for the 11pm closing time to be re-instated as now around 10pm the PT's come and sometimes rudely say were closing soon leaving no time for me to get a proper workout in without pressure to leave the gym. Cardio machines are sometimes switched off at 10.10! Also a bit too many promotions are run and it can sometimes get really busy with guests. Gym is fantastic though, well spaced out, equipment and machines are top notch and atmosphere is good. I will check back in a few months and if these issues have been resolved it really is a 5/5 health club.
