Always great food and service, with very friendly staff! It is always a pleasure to visit this one, my original favourite out of the 3 in the local area. It is always busy, but I never struggle to get a table. Whether popping in at the last minute or a celebration dinner. Tonight, we had a birthday celebration only booked the day before. Thankfully, we were fitted in! The car park was nice and big for the limo to turn around, and leaving cars slightly earlier for getting back wasn't a problem. The food is always received hot, looks great, is very tasty and plentiful. We did have 2 rib eyes not up to standard, but they changed them. We had starters, so we didn't even have room for pudding. The server was lovely and looked after us all.

Our waitress Cathy was an absolute diamond. She was so polite and kept us entertained throughout the meal. We will be returning soon and would love to be seated in her section again. The food was excellent. Compliments to the chefs! We are not big eaters but we ate everything as we couldn't waste any of it.

I’m late posting, but this happened on 2nd April 2022. I went for a meal for my birthday with 2 friends. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely but nervous waitress who told us the heating was broken. We decided to stay and give it a try. We froze… I kept my padded coat on, gloves and scarf. From a health and safety aspect it shouldn’t have opened. It wasn’t acceptable. To top it off we were in there for 3 hours, due to the slow service… only one waitress who to be honest did her best. It really wasn’t what we expected. We were offered a complimentary hot drink to “warm” us up.. but this wasn’t till just before we left! Really disappointed with this experience. Hadn’t been since before lockdown and totally put off about going again. Not the birthday meal I had hoped.

Had a bad experience at the Barn Beefeater linked to the Premier Inn. They actually did me a favour as I walked to the Miller and Carter just down the road and had an excellent experience. Friendly welcoming staff and an excellent meal. My waiter Simon deserves special mention as he looked after my every need and was a pleasure to deal with I wish all waiters were like him. Efficient but also human. It makes all the difference when you're treated as a person instead of a walking wallet. If you're in Hockley Heath and want to eat pass the Beefeater and head for the Miller and Carter.

To be honest, not much was great this time round. We love miller and Carter and we’ve Hockley Heath has always been our favourite. But I won’t be hurrying back after this visit. My wife’s steak was undercooked. My steak was chewy and nowhere near the usual standards. Another of our guest’s steaks was as much gristle as it was meat. I found a hair in my lettuce wedge. Overall the restaurant felt tired and run down. There were buttons missing off the chairs. The toilet roll holder was broken off the wall. For us, miller and Carter is a treat. We cannot afford to visit as regularly as we’d like. And the quality simply didn’t live up to the cost or the expectation. We commented on how quiet the restaurant was and I now wonder if people are voting with their feet and boycotting what was once a great experience. Please sort this out. As I said, we love miller and Carter and I’d hate for this to be the last time I visit. But I wasn’t impressed and it definitely feels like it needs work.

Booked for four people for New Year's Eve, wasn't told that there was a set menu for £59,95 until we arrived, and no one liked The starters so we simply asked if we could have garlic bread or chicken wings we was told no didn't think that would've been too much trouble for them and I asked for steak well done brought it over and there are still blood in it so I asked for a little more well done on it, come back cremated absolutely awful we are regular visitors to miller and Carter, but on New Year's Eve look like very understaffed and service was shocking with an experience, waitresses with bad attitude and manager didn't wanna do nothing about it so all in all bad experience with Miller and Carter Hockley Heath and cost £300 for four people

Angelina was a superb waitress, so friendly and quick on service. The meal was also superb with a good range of food and drink. Well worth a visit, highly recommend

We went here for an 18th birthday party. The food was beautifully cooked and also very well presented. The waiter was brilliant, very happy to help and made the experience even better. As a vegetarian my options we're quite limited, but that's to be expected in a steak restaurant!!

Sylvia was an absolutely lovely waitress! She had great customer service and built great customer rapport. She also made us feel very comfortable and welcome as we aren’t from this area! The food was delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly! The tip was well deserved! Thank you very much

We had the best experience, after driving all day it was so nice to have some incredible food and catch up with good friends. We had originally been seated in a booth but our waitress Nette was incredible and moved us to a bigger table! She was so lovely and was so caring about my allergies! She is such a lovely person! Thank you so much!

We had a lovely lunch, the service and attention was excellent, friendly and courteous. The food was presented perfectly and was as good as it looked. The only quibble was that the wine, by the glass was mega expensive. But that apart, my guests and I had a lovely comfortable lunch and will return.

Made welcome by pleasant staff; thanks particularly to Izzy J for excellent service, nothing too much trouble. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts but feel the starters are overpriced for the portions given. Our table had steak, salmon, duck and a burger all of which were very tasty with only small sides of veg/salad included. All in all a pleasant meal at ££ price range. Would go again but maybe just for a main course.,

A massive thank you to Sylvia for a making our kid free Wedding anniversary meal so special. This place is our special place as a couple and this occasion was made a really lovely one for us. We have been coming for many years and never once had a bad meal.

I arrived very late last night with my partner. Staff were helpful and friendly. Adam who severed us was very efficient and made sure we had all we needed. We would definitely visit again. The cocktails are great. Although it was a great experience the company have changed the recipe for the beef dripping. The new dripping is very pale in colour and watery. It also tastes appalling. We did speak to Adam as we thought it was wrong but he spoke to the kitchen who confirmed the change in recipe. We hope the company fix this soon and go back to using the old beef dripping. In the meantime avoid this at all costs. It will spoil your meal if you poor it on.

Most fabulous food and service we've ever been treated to! It was my 65th Birthday, and the Staff were just the best! So welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful! Can't praise them enough! They made our day totally unforgettable! The food was mouth-watering, the portions were huge and the taste? Out of this world! Many thanks for such a memorable day, we're definitely going to be returning!

Penny and Pris, yet again, provided a silver service. We are never disappointed dining here, staff fall graciously at service and the mellow ambience pairs a mysteriously seductive story of what the night ahead keeps secret. Exquisite marrow from the bones of cattle from which we devour each and every cut of meat. Cherishing moments shared with my dining partner at every bite. Like that wasn’t enough. A personal visit from Chef Harvey, who had very vascular hands. Topped my dining experience.

Service at the Hockley Heath miller and cater was exquisite, atmosphere cheerful and food delicious. Penny the waitress in particular took my attention from the off, her elegant manor and flirtatious eyes made the food that much more enjoyable. Not only do I think she deserves a raise, I’d be willing to pay it for her.. her beautiful blonde hair dangled and glistened making the setting that much more tranquil. A truly stunning experience.

We have just had another lovely evening and delicious dinner - thank you. Our steaks were cooked to perfection as always. A special mention to Priscilla who looked after us. She was so friendly and helpful and really added to our positive experience. She is a credit to the Miller and Carter brand. Thank you again Sue and Nick Need

The food and drinks overall were great. Recommend the snowball. The service was jolly, but almost a little too forced and could’ve been a bit quicker. The portion that you get when you order the lamb rack of ribs is quite small and isn’t really value for money. Vegetarian option seemed that more effort gone in to presentation than taste. I like the menu for kids.

A lovely festive look to the interior on arrival and.nice greeting. Very nice meal with a party we meet up with at Christmas. My soup was hot and tasty, salmon was a generous portion, and lovely moist Christmas pudding to follow. Husband's pate very good, turkey good and very good brownie. Lovely waitress Georgie/Georgia was very polite, friendly, helpful, and served us extremely well. A very nice evening enjoyed by all.

UPDATE After emailing head office as the restaurant ignored my reply, they have said I should have said something there and then, don’t tell a customer what they should have done! Just sort the issue out… They have offered free starters or desserts on my next visit even though I don’t want to go back to this restaurant and I would rather prefer my money back for that salad which was over £20. Came here for a family birthday meal, ordered a wedge salad for it to come with no bacon, no silton cheese, barely any chicken and the steak fillets which were meant to be medium rare, more like burnt. I had one of these salads at another Miller and Carter and was blown away by it, this time I was no happy. Chips were also luke warm and not great. No refund or discount offered, just comments will be passed on. Not acceptable.

The restaurant had obviously taken too many bookings. When we arrived we were told we would have to wait for at least 15 minutes that we could go to the bar for a drink at our expense. There patently was no proper system for calling forward those waiting for a table. Having waited for nearly 30 minutes and noticing that some customers who had arrived after us were being called forward, we went to query it we were dealt with rudely and advised we had lied! The shame of it all was that the dinner itself was excellent and the staff waiting at table delightful, the front of house were completely the opposite and left an unpleasant experience for us for the night.

The service was very good, staff were very friendly & helpful. All of the food was excellent except my fries, which I didn't enjoy (although my 2 year old Grandson loved them). My grandson had Pasta with Meatballs, which was served at the perfect temperature for him to start eating straight away without burning his mouth. He loved & ate all his pasta, but didn't eat much of the meatballs. My son had a Vegan Starter, Main & Dessert, all of which he thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had Chorizo for Starter, & Battered cod for her main, all of which she enjoyed. I had Calamari (lightly battered squid) as Starter & the signature steak sandwich as my main course. I was undecided about the sauce that came on the sandwich, but the accompanying sauce was delicious. As I said I didn't enjoy the chips, & didn't eat them, but it didn't matter as I felt comfortably full. It was not cheap, but we all had a great time each eating a wonderful meal.

Apart from no minute steak, the whole visit for us all was great. You offered a different steak instead, and the food choice was great. The waiter was exceptional, friendly, attentive but not pushy. Certainly made our lunch really effortless and lovely. Food was great, skinny chips lovely and desserts great. Overall great food, lovely atmosphere and great service. The waiter deserves a pay rise! Service was very slow, took a long time have drinks served and empty plates/glasses cleared away. One member of the party ordered their steak medium rare but it arrived medium well. Always loved miller and carter but feel the food presentation has slipped and general attention to details. Lettuce wedge didn’t taste the freshest and came out a good 15 mins before our mains. Overall disappointing

We have a fantastic meal here this evening. There is a very nostalgic feel to the Miller and Carter as my grand parents used to work behind the bar when the pub was the Nags Head. The food was just delicious, portion sizes perfect, timing between courses was brilliant , drinks were lovely and the attention to deal from David our Waiter and Emma the manager? was fantastic. They catered to all of our needs and were fantastic.

Adam and Rowan were excellent We arrived at Miller and Carter Hockley Heath tonight at 6.30pm, was taken straight to the table with myself and my girlfriend, ordered drinks and food very quick. Food was exceptional with the prawns and garlic bread starter, ribeye and burger main and brownie/sorbet dessert. Adam, our main waiter, was fantastic and Rowan was also very attentive with drinks and food service. Overall excellent

We were celebrating a belated birthday. Two meat eaters, one vegetarian. Our first visit to this particular Miller & Carter. Our waitress was Cath, she was excellent!!! Professional, efficient, funny & extremely helpful. Especially, as I am, an awkward vegetarian! All of the meals, three courses, were delicious & very well presented. We shall definitely be returning, in the very near future. Thank you.
