Beautiful Neo-Classical column, dedicated to the Mexican War of Independence. Worth a 10-15 minute stop to admire the statuary. It seems you have to dash across the traffic circle, so be careful! Enjoy people watching as folks gather on the steps to hang out.
Emblematic Spot in Mexico City. To tour along the Reforma Avenue is a must do once you get to Mexico City. Around there's a lot of coffee shops and different types of venues, sitting in one of the city benches along the Avenue to meet people or simply enjoy a snack enjoying the view. Safe area around, but like in any other big city, take your precautions.
It's a nice monument in a central part of Mexico City. Easy to find and good for connecting to a bus or to a bus to take out of the city. The area has some fancy hotels or more casual bars nearby. Nice golden angel at the top. Might be nice if the monument wasn't surrounded by 6 lanes of traffic.
"The Angel of Independence statue was erected to commemorate the centennial of Mexico's independence from Spain. It is a cool symbol of the nation's struggle for freedom. The tower is topped with a golden statue of the Angel of Victory. It really is a breathtaking sight when you consider tue meaning (Like an American visiting the statue of liberty in person). The details and the scale of the monument are awe-inspiring. It's made me feel closer to the Mexican people amd culture/struggles. Whether you're into history or simply love beautiful architecture, the Angel of Independence is an absolute must-see when visiting Mexico City.

Experiencing the Angel of Independence in Mexico City was truly awe-inspiring. Standing tall and majestic on Reforma, this iconic monument embodies the spirit of a nation's struggle and triumph. The golden angel, poised for flight, radiates a powerful sense of freedom and resilience. Seeing it up close, bathed in the vibrant city light, one feels a profound connection to Mexico's rich history and the courageous individuals who fought for its sovereignty. The intricate details of the sculpture, the stoic figures at its base, and the sheer scale of the monument are breathtaking. It's more than just a statue; it's a living symbol of national pride, a testament to enduring independence, and a constant reminder of the sacrifices made for liberty. A truly moving and unforgettable sight.
A beautiful, and easily recognizable landmark. Nike may have been the intention, but an angel she has become. I especially love when they close a lane off on Reforma so people can wandering around more and enjoy its beauty.

Me encanta este lugar muy propio para contemplar
Worth the trip but it's not a huge undertaking. You can go and spend between 5-15 minutes walking around the roundabout taking pictures or grab a coffee or drink and enjoy the area. Be mindful, it's incredibly busy so be careful with children and pets.
A spectacular destination on Avenida de la Reforma in Mexico City. GO AT NIGHT!!! Be careful of traffic and sketchy people. There is typically a Policia presence there during the evenings. GREAT photography location. Smack dab in the midst of tremendous high rises. Plenty of indoor restaurants within the hotels and street front restaurants, In June 2025 - there is construction going on around the plaza where the statue resides. Some of the monument around the bottom is inaccessible. A MUST see in Mexico City!!!
Such an iconic place!! Definitely recommend to take photos here! Just be safe running across the street as there isn’t any cross walks.
This place is beautifully lit, and I particularly enjoy how the lighting consistently reflects the current mood or occasion. It's a vibrant, busy street, always abuzz with visitors.
Such a beautiful statue that’s made of gold! It’s an important part of Mexican culture and it’s also the site of the 2024 NYE party which was the worlds biggest mobile dance party put on by POLYMARCHS
Beautiful monument celebrating Mexico's independence. Currently under renovation so you can't get close in the rotary but she is very eye catching.
The Ángel de la Independencia is a must-visit in Mexico City! This stunning monument is not only a symbol of Mexican independence but also a beautiful piece of architecture. The golden-winged angel shines brightly, especially at night, and the surrounding area is perfect for photos. The view from the base is impressive, and if you visit during national celebrations, the atmosphere is electric. Nearby, you'll find great cafés, shops, and Paseo de la Reforma's lively vibe. Whether you're a history buff or just sightseeing, the Angel is a true emblem of Mexico's pride. Tip: Visit at sunset for amazing lighting and fewer crowds!
Me encanta siempre disfrutar la vista del Ángel de la independencia. La calle reforma es divina y siempre encuentras el lugar ideal para comer o tomar un café
The Angel of Independence is a must-see if you’re in Mexico City. It’s a bit of a bummer that it’s currently fenced off, so you can’t get up close. But you can still check out its beauty from a distance. Even with the restricted access, it’s totally worth a visit!
