We had dinner there with another couple. Most of the dishes were good but we had issues with the cocktails and the bill. My cocktails were only filled 1/2 way which I find unacceptable for $20 each. My friends each sent their cocktail back because they were just bad. At the end of the night we each paid by credit card and they charged our friends for half of the bill but they charged us for the whole bill. My husband didn't look carefully and just signed the bill not noticing until he looked at our credit card statement. I have called Gitano numerous times and the receptionist is rude and the manager never calls me back. Unfortunately we won't be returning mostly due to the bad customer service.

Gitano was a nice experience. The service was excellent and it’s conveniently located. The food was a little salty. I enjoyed the guacamole, the green bowl and the tuna tostado. The restaurant is quite dark. The bench seating is comfortable and cozy. My overall feeling is that for the price you can do better.

Absolutely thee worst place to patronize. First we called ahead and were told we could come in and when we got here they told us they were closed for a private party. We called 10 minutes before. As my husband was talking to the hostess, I sat in the lobby for all of one second and was told I could not sit there. The guy further continued to harass me to leave the area. We were later referred to a GM who seemed less than interested in assisting us and told me that I couldn't sit in lobby but in another area. I explained that the guy who asked me to leave never bothered to tell me that. I don't know if they are just racist or think they are better than everyone but do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. They do not deserve anyone's money since they act like they don't need it. Can you imagine a hotel that won't let you use their lobby? For sure I will never stay here, how does this attract future guests. This place should be ashamed of themselves.

I came here looking for a quick bite before a concert at Faena next door and I am happy that I did. Fernando, a very talented mixologist, made me a Gypsy Disco 75 cocktail... It's primarily tart lime and raspberry along with St. Germain. It's very refreshing. I ordered the La Gringa tacos al pastor on his recommendation and he was 100% right - they are absolutely delicious! 🤤 The roasted pork is the first flavor you encounter, but then the more subtle flavors follow; chipotle cream, lime, and onions. All the while there's great jazzy music playing in the background. I had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Highly recommended!

We came from NYC on vacation...first time in Miami beach: 5 stars for atmosphere and service. 3 starts for everything elses. Value for money was not there. Our bill was $204 with tax and service fee: 3 mains, 2 drinks, and still water (We found it outrageous to be billed for water) - at least tell ppl you bill for anything but tap water. The places is nice and atmosphere chick and tropical, drinks were good and crafted in house, service was attentive and helpful; however food and drink prices were way to high for the amount and quality. I understand is Miami beach, and that tourist prices are expected to be high, but not even in Manhattan, NYC do you get such an exorbitant bill for almost no food and 2 drinks. The least Gitano can do would be to offer more food in the plate. If it's a Michelin star level restaurant I could understand the price tag. Also, why not put the $ amount in the description? This is more like a $$$$ restaurant.

I first visited Gitano (@gitano) in Tulum and loved it. It was a delight to see that the restaurant made its way to Miami while preserving its beach bohemian decor. Gitano Miami (@gitanomiami) has wonderful food downstairs and a beautiful rooftop where you can continue to enjoy their craft cocktails. Highly recommend: the kiwi branzino 🤤 💫Add me on IG for more recommendations: @miamicheatdays

Decent atmosphere & nice people, the food was prepared well. However, it’s insanely overpriced, as other reviews have mentioned. It’s a pretty restaurant & cool spot, but not for locals where there’s much better restaurants away from the beach in wynwood, coconut grove, midtown etc. I will not be back.

I first visited Gitano Miami in 2021 and could not wait to come back. I had a birthday dinner there this year that was so special and memorable. Last night I stopped in to have dinner and it was another culinary delight. I started with a Ginger Mock tail made by Fernando that was so good and many surprises to follow. The Lobster Tostada was amazing and the Guac was so tasty that followed. Next I was surprised when the yummy Watermelon & Tomato Salad came out in an actual Ice Bowl. How Good? The passion fruit sorbet mixed on top made this my favorite salad I have ever had! Delicious. The Pork I had after the salad melted in my mouth and couldn’t stop thinking about it today. The Branzino in banana leaf is the best- I didn’t put my fork down until every bit was devoured. The fresh tortillas and the salsa verde I love as well. As if I didn’t already have enough culinary excitement the warm Valrhona chocolate molten cake with ice cream was placed in front of me and even though it couid be shared I enjoyed every last bite:). Besides the super friendly incredible staff that make the meal so enjoyable, you can taste the true passion of the chef and staff that goes into the entire meal. This is truly such a special place.

While in Miami, Gitano is a definite "must-go" destination! We absolutely adored every moment of our stay, especially during the after-hours cocktails and music, which lived up to expectations. The cocktails were incredibly delicious, the atmosphere was friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting other guests.

good atmosphere for a drink....but as much as I love to waste money this place has zero value. if you're ok with that, the beautiful people and scene will be enjoyable. They hold the record for most expensive and smallest guacamole I have ever had.....if I wasn't drunk from their margz I would have been offended....luckily I was lubricated.

I just eat at this restaurant, and I am a huge foodie. I am from out of town and would go to restaurants to eat authentic cuisine and it’s literally my past time. I cannot tell you how out of this world the food here is. I never review, but I just had to because of how amazing it - they have a guac in-house that slightly spicy, which taste so amazing! Their lamb - the juice and taste is out of this world but my favourite is the shrimp tacos. With every bite I got goosebumps because I could not believe how good something can taste. The service was amazing and I got to meet the chef Antonio. What an amazing place I cannot wait to come back!!! you

This week my friend and I visited Miami Beach for Spring Break. We were staying near the Faena District, which is where Gitano is located. To be honest, I am from Texas so Mexican food in Miami doesn't exactly excite me, but I was very impressed with the food at Gitano. We started with the queso, which comes with freshly made flour tortillas. The cheese was delicious and included chorizo. For our entrees, my friend had the pork chop, which was cut into slices so you could make little street tacos. I had the cauliflower, which was THE MOST DELICIOUS cauliflower dish I have ever tasted. The cauliflower was soft and moist and came with a delicious tomato mole sauce. For dessert we had churros (there are four of them), which come with both chocolate and caramel dipping sauce. It was a beautiful evening in March in Miami Beach, and we sat outside on their patio, which was packed. Service was friendly if not a little distracted, but we had a very enjoyable time.

Amazing dinner at Gitano prepared by Chef Ronald, clearly a skilled artisan with his own unique take on familiar favorites. You must try their Al Pastor tacos! Also, their spicy margaritas were fire. Definitely coming back.

We had Dana as our server and he was phenomenal! Knew the menu, provided great suggestions. He understood our food preferences so well that my husband and I asked him to surprise us from the menu and he did not disappoint!! Also- just as important, some of the best cocktails we have had in south beach! The bartender was amazing 👏🏻🙌🏻 Overall, great vibe and experience. Looking forward to coming again with our family for a fun night out!

Very loud, not a restaurant to have a quite conversation. The food was ok, but too spicy and it does not specify it in the menu. Desert was the best, and the guac for appetizer. Service 5/5, decor 5/5, very cute and picture ready. Price is reasonable for the location.

Gitano was a great experience, staff was very friendly and stayed on top of the cleanliness of our table. We all had an appetizer and a main course. One of the best things I tried today was their Branzino prepared in a corn husk with spinach, kiwi and cilantro sauce. The mushroom side paired very well with the main course. This place is tapas style so everything comes out as it’s ready. The crispy chicken wasn’t that good it came with corn tortillas, it was too greasy, bland and very small amount of sauce, so maybe skip that and go for other options. My grilled octopus appetizer was delish too.

Some of my close friends were visiting and we decided on GITANO based on the the good reviews & lovely pictures displaying the ambiance and food. It did not disappoint! Our waiter Dana was wonderful; very attentive, personable, and swift. The food & drinks were delicious and the atmosphere provided the perfect energy needed for the reunion. Would definitely return

Trendy spot. The food was amazing, but pricey. The octopus was delicious. Make sure to check out the rooftop bar, it has great vibes :)

I was very impressed with this restaurant and the food. To be honest, I am not a big fan of Mexican cuisine. However, this place gave me another chance to start loving Mexican cuisine. We loved all the dishes we ordered. The flavour and the texture of the dishes were indescribable. My favourite was Octopus (you must try it!!!). I am not even talking about desserts...The chef (Antonio) definitely did a great job. The entire staff was wonderful and attentive. Our server made sure that we were taken care of despite the busy dinner time. The place has a very cool vibe as well. It's very nice that after dinner you can go to the rooftop, have a few more drinks, enjoy the few of the ocean and listen to house music. The rooftop was amazing! One of my favourite restaurants in Miami Beach. Definitely going to come back to this place to try other dishes and cocktails.

We were looked after by Sofia, and she made sure we had the best experience at Gitano ! She recommended dishes that were delicious and original, and went out of her way to get us drinks made the proper Mexican way! She catered to all our needs and delivered an exceptional service (in perfect Spanish and English). Overall, this is a great place with really good food and professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff!

Oh my... Mexican at its #best..! Shrimp tacos are a MUST!! delicious carnitas, chicken pastor and many more... They have small menu for dinner but all the good stuff!! Great portion and I would recommend sharing or tapas style dining to enjoy more. Lively and good vibe but casual setting in a tropical vibe. Love it!!

Food is fantastic - branzino in banana leaf + green drink made for a healthy, light early dinner for one on the veranda. Travis the manager and my waitress Tijana came by several times to check in on me, and invited me back for Sunday drinks on the roof, will def return. Thank you!

I am very upset I was about to get there and got a cancellation of the reservation on my email. I called, they bounced me from person to person and after a 20min hold they told me there was a private event and dumped me. So disrespectful! On a Sun night when everything is booked I had to start figuring out where to go. Terrible service!

Food delicious! A bit pricey. Kitchen closes late afternoon for a few hours so menu items limited. Lovely outdoor seating. Indoors the music is too loud for comfortable conversation.

Food was amazing, ambiance is old school Miami Beach chic, and the service was superb. We tried about 8 dishes including the shrimp ceviche, which was delicious. Definitely a place you want to go dressed to impress

Came here almost by accident, turned out to be one of the best places I’ve been in a while, ambience is amazing at the restaurant, service was great, Graciela was super cool and everything she recommended was great, had a green bowl with a basil sauce, a tuna tostada, and the octopus, everything was really really good, from taste to presentations and the drinks too plus they have a rooftop bar with music with a kind of tulum vibe, simply great.

Tropical speakeasy style with floral decorations and chill house music. Drinks are delicious. Rooftop and low light rooms with ample seating. I didn't try the food, but how exquisite the drinks were, I won't be surprised if the food follows suit as well. Again, this is a review of the rooftop bar.

I visited last week Friday with my friend for a quick dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I strongly suggest calling ahead to find out about availability and MAKE A RESERVATION especially on a weekend in Miami. We had the pleasure of having Sharon as our server and she was a dream. Very knowledgeble about the menu selections and anything she reccommended was delicious! The entire staff was very attentive, honestly. I cannot stress about how good and fresh the food was, my friend and I are pretty big eaters and we were more than satisfied with the portions. We will definitely be back to try the things we couldn’t try on our first visit. Thanks again, Sharon!
